Yes, that is how I read it, that people in DS's class had the Apple watch , & not DS.

I would tend to agree Redo - I would ban watches and phones. However, the school hasn't banned them and having grown up as the kid who didn't have stuff I don't want him to feel that shame. Still not forking out £100s on a apple watch though. That is just daft! We try and strike a decent balance.

What a LOOOOOOOONG week and I am shattered - glad to say the end of this particular challenge is almost in sight. From today I have just 18 week days left, of which 2 are flex days off and I need to squeeze in just over 3 days of TOIL accrued last week.

Not spent much time away from work since I last posted but did manage to squeeze in a double discount shop. Subtotal was just over £500 but after deals, in store discounts and additional staff discounts we paid £330. We now have enough cleaning/laundry supplies to last out the year and another few months of meat in the freezer. Hubs owes £40 of that back to the joint account. Weekly food budget for the next two months will be £30 as we will only need fresh stuff (bread, milk, fruit and veg) for a while.

In other news, BIL is not doing great at the moment. He is struggling with anxiety. He has sought help, which is great, but he is also unloading a lot on Hubs (again great that he can) and this is weighing enormously on Hubs' mind and affecting his well being and temper. There may be an emergency trip to Australia on the cards for him, as much for his benefit as BILs.

I think that is all I have for now. I need to get back into the everyday groove now things are calming down at work.

    Keep stretching those pennies!

  • Well done on the deals, that's fantastic.

It's lovely that BiL has DH to talk to, despite what a worry it must be, sending big hugs xx

Wow, it has been a while! Been a bit busy winding down current job, ferrying Littles to grandparents and building Lego...

Not a whole heap to report. Money is ticking along nicely. Payday on Friday and I need to do a round up of balances and see where I've got to. One good thing is I haven't missed the OD in the slightest this month. It feels so good to be free of it. We have also been using the Tesco MC wisely, getting points and paying it off straight away. It all feels very grown up. Last pay for this job is on Friday, unless they haven't paid unused holiday, then I'll get a final pay in May. April/May will bear careful management as I transition from 4-weekly to monthly salary payments but I am confident we can get through with YNAB :D

Nothing else to report. Happy hump day everyone.

Good to hear from you that things are going well Luc! I'm confident you'll manage the 4 weekly > monthly transition just fine and that's excellent news on not missing the OD as well - well done you!
