You have been misled - cancel the install0

I think on the eve of installation, the opportunity to cancel may have past.
I'm not averse to a smart meter install, if a SMETS 2 is installed. I plan to switch in January, and anything less would be a waste of effort, particularly in absence of a definitive timeliness for old smart meter upgrades. My farts hospitalize small children0 -

I seem to recall reading (possibly on here), that cancelling on the day is possible if you're unhappy with anything. Sounds all well and good, but in practice I'm not sure how awkward or difficult that is to get over the line.My farts hospitalize small children0

My request was fairly explicit. SMETS2 or nothing. Their response was the couldn't guarantee. My response was, well you won't be switching anything over on the installation date if it's not SMETS2.

Do any of these IHDs actually give the gas METER reading not how many KWH have been used? As we all should know by now this is not the same thing!
I have previously been told that some IHD's do.
Although, since they are allocated at random, pound to a pinch of !!!!, people who really need them won't be able to get them! My guess would be that they are sent out be a third party and there's probably no way to get the one's that do to the people who actually need them.
All down to brilliant planning by an insightful Regulator.Switzerland has Dignitasthe UK has DCA's, Bankers and Lawyers.0 -
No way they could charge you after they misled you ... raise formal complaint and refer to ombudsman if need.0

If the old meter has reached the end of its safe life period then the choices could possibly mean accept a smart meter or be cut off on safety grounds , and the supplier may have no option but to terminate supply0
