Switched away from EE in Octover and had final bill but no refund of credit. Emailed Ovo 4 days ago and no reply, has anyone had a respone yet?
I phoned them on 23/24 Jan and they said they're expecting to get the customer data from EE on 28th Jan so to call back after then. I called back around 7/8 Feb and they said they're still waiting and they've added my details to a big spreadsheet of creditors that are chasing payment and will contact us when they get the data.

The guy also said they have several different spreadsheets of this nature going at once so there's likely to be some lack of controls somewhere, and some customers are probably going to fall through the cracks. I'm expecting to probably end up calling them again in a couple of weeks when I still don't hear anything.

I'd suggest making sure you're on their records as having actively chased your refund. Other than that it's just a waiting game I think.
  • i emailed them after trying without success to get them on the phone.Lines out of order on a couple of occasions office not open and i always tried on week days during office hours.
  • I have Ovo now confirming my desire to tf to EDF, which should happen soon.
Meanwhile it might be 6-8 weeks before the final EE account is available
.not sure what happens to the usage between EE and EDF.. But I've stopped fretting now.. They're going at their own pace

well eventualy got to speak to someone who has contradicted everything posted and what ive read x ee customers do not have to contact them to register your claim i pointed out that its states on there members forum posted today that you have to register your claim with them via phone or email.he would not take my details and said hes doing what he was told to do.There own site also says to go to the members forum for help and advice.this is what it says on there forum

    ( Hi all,

Just to update, we are finally getting all of Economy Energy's account information transferred over to OVO. This means we are in a position to start working through checking the backlog of requests for refunds from customers that left Economy, before OVO was appointed as the new supplier.

This means we are no longer able to take your details via the forum. If you are an ex EE customer that is waiting for a refund, please email hello@ovoenergy.com or call our helpful team on 0330 303 5063. They will be able to take your details and add your information and request to our systems so allow us to speed up the process.

Anyone that has already sent their details through to the forum, rest assured you were added to the list we were previously collating, and you don't need to do anything right now.

  • Had a email and phone call from Ovo today saying they now received details from EE and will receive a cheque within 10 days.
  • I am in a similar situation to badboy13. Left EE in October. Owed over £350 and not had any communications from anyone. Spoke to Ovo about a week ago, got told I am on a database and nothing since!!! It is completely sickening and it appears that unless people are prepared to spend hours chasing Ovo, nothing is happening. I would love to know what will happen come the day I owe someone for my gas and electric???
  • It'll take time Brian, I'm one of the EE customers who have been moved to Ovo, according to my online account with Ovo they've still not started supplying me !
They also state that they have confirmed my DD. I don't know how because I cancelled my DD with EE the day after they folded and have not signed a new agreement.

So...I've sent in my readings. It'll take 6 weeks for EE to issue a final bill which takes us to the end of March !

The money will be returned.....at some point :p

PS My online account is showing 16.03p/kWh for both electric and gas !!!

at least you know you are on there data base brian when i got to speak to someone they wouldnt even take my details. When i pointed out to him what it said on there forum he said hes only saying what he has been told to say that was they will be getting all the info from ee at the end of this month.
Ive also sent 2 emails providing my details and asking for confirmation. All i recieved was an auto reply saying they will email me within 3 to 5 days. The auto reply to me looks like its from when they where first appointed to take over the EE customers.
when i started my switch from EE in september i got an email from ee saying they had canceled my dd.My switch completed and final bills showing credit balances owed where received .Im just glad i never switched to ovo as there online and phone support to me is just as bad as EE.
  • There seems to be some confusion over this. When I contacted OVO about this, they said they were getting all details for ex customers direct from EE. However, they did not say if that includes those of us who left EE before they went bust. I think it can do no,harm to contact OVO and register your claim as a creditor.
