There seems to be some confusion over this. When I contacted OVO about this, they said they were getting all details for ex customers direct from EE. However, they did not say if that includes those of us who left EE before they went bust. I think it can do no,harm to contact OVO and register your claim as a creditor.
ive tried the person i spoke to would not take my details ive also emailed and they dont reply apart from an auto reply saying they will get back to you in 3-5 days0 -
OVO is very confused and inconsistent with its communication and does not seem to carry out simple checks:
are they pricing in pounds or pence?
are they including or excluding VAT?
their tariffs are always different from communication to communication (Welcome Letter 1, Welcome Letter 2, Tariff Infromation Label, Smart Meter Entry, MYOVO.
their start date remains unclear: 12 January or 30 January (one email says ignore the date in the Welcome Letter)
some commmunications say that direct debits have been set up when they have notI have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -
Has anyone received an invoice yet from Ovo ? My start dates are all over the place and they say my DD is in place but I cancelled mine with EE so that has not continued.0

What's the best thing to do with regards to switching away from Ovo to a cheaper supplier elsewhere?
My aunty was moved to Ovo as per other Economy Energy customers and as at the last bill from Economy Energy before she switched she was about £200 in credit on her electricity account and about £200 in debit on her gas account. She had just cancelled her direct debit with the bank to prevent Economy Energy from taking an over-inflated payment.
I have since spoken to Ovo and we have arranged to restart the direct debit on 1 April 2019. However, Ovo still have not received all of the information about her account from Economy Energy. This means we currently have no idea how much her usage with Ovo has cost and/or whether there was any further credit or debit left with Economy Energy. In the meantime though, it means my aunty is on Ovo's standard variable rate tariff, with the price of this going up on 1 April 2019.
I'm keen to get her switched away to a cheaper tariff as soon as possible but I also don't want to frustrate the Economy Energy to Ovo process, especially if we find she actually is in credit.
What would be your advice on the best time to switch away from Ovo? Is it recommending to stay with them until this mess is all sorted out or am I safe to switch her account away now but still be able to settle with Ovo at a later date once they have all of the necessary information?
Many thanks for any advice.

If any outstanding balance is likely to be small, either way, then it probably doesn't matter how long it takes to get a final bill from Ovo.
If it were me, I would apply to switch now but if Ovo concludes that you might owe them some money, they might object to the switch. Deal with that if it happens but the sooner you move on the less it's going to cost in the end.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I suggest you start your switch now. Any credit balance owing or amount due can all be sorted out later0 -
mrochester as you can still login to EE download the latest bills they will show credit/debit according to some posts ovo have stated they now have all the details from EE. I came acros ovo facebook page and posted on there and within a few days received my credit for me electricity ac and then discovered from ovo agents who where sorting things out that it looked like i never had my gas supply from EE they requested my final EE statement and i sent it to them they have now forwarded it to relevant department to look into it.I had no luck talking to ovo on the phone or replies from emails sent to them.Prior to coming across there facebook page.0

The problem I have is the last statement from EE in December 2018 for both gas and electricity have wildly inaccurate estimated readings rather than being based on the actual readings I gave in early December.
The previous statements are 2 or 3 months older and at that point do show a £242 debit on the gas and a £210 credit on the electricity. On that basis I assume she would actually have an overall debit with EE. On that basis it might just be easier to start the switch now!0
