The previous statements are 2 or 3 months older and at that point do show a £242 debit on the gas and a £210 credit on the electricity. On that basis I assume she would actually have an overall debit with EE. On that basis it might just be easier to start the switch now!
If meter readings were taken (and a personal record kept) since the last statements were issued by EE then you could get a pretty good estimate of what the current state of affairs should be. You can argue the toss over the details with Ovo once they have issued their final bill or sooner if they object to a switch.
I agree that a switch request now would be a good first move.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I'm the same, but I'm officially with EDF as of 14 February, have made my first payments and have been given my opening meter readings. The accounts from EE to bankruptcy in December and OVO up to 13th Feb is still being unravelled..I expect Ovo are hoping to have us much usage in their 'slot' as possible but are scratching their colletive heads by the fantasy high readings that were on EE's final bill in Dec. As I figure it, Ovo will be owing me £200...which must be a worry for them... I''m just keeping quiet until I hear from them...been a while tbh.0

I have been chasing up a refund through OVO for 3 months from my EE account. They will give me no information as to when I will receive my refund and wont give me any information on a percentage of customers that have received a refund
Has anyone been fortunate enough to get their money back?????0 -
I phoned them on 23/24 Jan and they said they're expecting to get the customer data from EE on 28th Jan so to call back after then. I called back around 7/8 Feb and they said they're still waiting and they've added my details to a big spreadsheet of creditors that are chasing payment and will contact us when they get the data.
The guy also said they have several different spreadsheets of this nature going at once so there's likely to be some lack of controls somewhere, and some customers are probably going to fall through the cracks. I'm expecting to probably end up calling them again in a couple of weeks when I still don't hear anything.
I'd suggest making sure you're on their records as having actively chased your refund. Other than that it's just a waiting game I think.
Well, I was starting to wonder if I'd have to call for a third time, but yesterday my cheque arrived in the post. So fair play to OVO, they are gradually working through it :T
Edit - and to the post above, I hadn't had any confirmation that they agreed to my refund, all I knew is that I was on their list of people to look at. So fingers crossed you'll have a cheque turn up soon too.0 -
Thing is whatever credit I had left at EE will have been pretty much used up during the high usage Ovo period up to Feb 13th..there may be a small amount...but my feeling is Ovo want as much 'consumption' recording during their period of ownership as possible ...Their prices are 35% higher than EE's so it's not in my interest to allow them to massage the readings their way. I have my readings and I know what I will accept or refuse. Until OVO finally get in touch we're all stuck. As for EDF, their online account shows me without debit or credit balances..so they've effectively started from scratch, which is fine by me as they are a lot cheaper than Ovo. I didn't want to get in an argument with my new supplier about opening meter readings..so I'm happy to be starting afresh with this.0

The communications from OVO are confused and often wrong. OVO called for meter readings to be provided by 2 February 2019 but commenced supply on 30 January 2019. OVO stated that it would be providing these opening figures to Economy Energy's receivers. However, OVO has also stated that it will charge for energy provided between 12 January 2019 and 29 January 2019. But how does OVO (unless it refers to retained smart meter readings) obtain the 12 January 2019 reading?
So there is still no bill from Economy Energy's receivers, there is no indication of OVO energy usage between 12 January 2019 and 29 January 2019 and there is no first bill from OVO.
I wonder whether the records are in such a mess (particularly in respect of inflated readings from Economy Energy) that between Economy Energy's receivers and OVO they are having difficulty working out exactly what has happened. Time may tell that there were some very irregular goings-on.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Methinks, Ofgem might have a bit more to say on the dubious Economy Energy's practices and I wonder if charges of fraud might eventually be brought.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Whatever they come up with I can't see me agreeing... Just a gut feeling Ovo will want to make some money from this. I also noticed EE often had incorrect unit rates too...and I'm struggling to reconcile the number of days they've charged too.0

This is my logic also. I surmise that the effective OVO money owning to ex-Economy customers could be far higher than originally anticiated by OVO. Then there is the question of whether the original data is still available.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. I dare say OVO thought they could push the readings back, to recoup what EE owed, but EE's administrator won't agree, as he wants to recoup as much as possible for EE's creditors.
What a mess, eh?0
