Its great news that DS is actively seeking more hours closer to home work but I wonder who will have the boys while he is working as bar work is notoriously evenings and weekends and if you are going to be working from home in future these would be your busiest times for fittings /discussions it worries me that you will need to sacrifice your business to look after these boys . I was surprised that as things are so acrimonious with the mum that a contact centre is not being used for pick up and drop offs surely that would be in DS best interest as any poor behaviour would be noted and recorded . Glad you had a good day with mum yesterday
While we only have the boys Sunday to Tuesday lunch one week and to Wednesday lunch the next week, and one of them is in school, I expect DS could get work Wednesday to Saturday night.
If he needs to work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday evening I am home anyway, and once in bed the lad sleeps all night and the baby tends to wake for about 1.30am have a bottle of milk and go back to sleep immediately ( unless they are ill), so it would not really impact on me much to babysit as I am there anyway.
It would only impact if he had to do Lunchtime shifts.
We will see, and moving forward will be registering him for some nursery place so he gets the interaction with other children.
The hand over used to be at the car park of the children's centre, but then the mother can't get there unless her family help her and they are too intermittent. We could be awkward and refuse, but then we would just be lowering our standards to hers wouldn't we.
Eventually she will not be able to get her own way, as this will all be recorded and brought up in the court case next month.
At least I hope so.
When I work from home, I will be more flexible with appointments for fittings etc, and hopefully once I have adjusted to my meds I will probably sew in the evening again. I will also start at 8.30 instead of 9.30 as I won't have to travel to work.
I am sure as long as I am disciplined we will manage.
Glad you made it to the assessment and you had a caring assessor this time Pollyanna, good luck with it all.
Hope things keep improving for everyone. XWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo, you certainly got a lot done yesterday and managed to have lunch in the sunshine. I hope you had a better sleep last night too.
Polly, I'm glad that the assessment went well, once you actually got there. Here's hoping that your DD gets the award she deserves without any more hassle.
Beanie, I'm sorry that things aren't good for you just now (((hugs))).It's not difficult!

Not too bad a day. Lots of fittings interrupted my flow sewing but it cannot be helped.
Washing pole keeps falling down, so have had to rewash this morning's load!
Small amount of paperwork etc done this evening but I am getting tired again now. Probably as I took my tablet about an hour ago.
But if I don't take it early enough I cannot function in the morning.
I am beginning to get back in the flow though and starting to think more clearly. Maybe I am starting to get used to the tablets. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Polly I hope you have better luck than us with the changeover from DLA to PIP. My son was on DLA for over 10 years. When we had the f2f the woman seemed benign enough, although she did state at one point he didn’t fit her handbook description of Autistic spectrum disorder . I pointed out to her you’ve met one kid with autism - you’ve met one kid with autism , they don’t necessarily fit the description in a book .
When the report came back she lied all the way through - what was said, his demeanour , his ability to follow a list of instructions, she reckoned he had a completed a folding exercise she gave him to do - he couldn’t do it and cried , according to her he finished it quickly with no problems . She stated he was perfectly capable of doing everything on his own, completely ignoring the forms I completed and the supportive evidence, commenting on things that she didn’t even ask about. I was so angry when I read it! She stated I said nothing even though I clarified all the way through and filled her in at the end with other information as she had asked. She awarded zero points, and MR didn’t change the result.
It’s taken a year to get it to a tribunal where thankfully the judge awarded him 20 points. He's just received a sizeable amount of arrears and I’m fighting to get what’s owed to me- I was forced unto universal credit when this happened, lost my carers allowance and had to quickly find a job.
It really is a nonsense that the system is leading to these expensive tribunals - I’ve read they cost over £4,000 and we had 2 lots of DWP not even turning up before the final one. Over 60% of appeals are upheld at tribunal. Apparently one nurse assessor has been reported to the nursing and midwifery council to be stuck off for the way she was reporting f2f assessments . I complained about ours ( who also kept us waiting 2 hrs) and have still not heard anything a year later.0 -
I finished the cube sofa covers today. So happy with that, several fittings, and a few smaller jobs done.

Yes I hope so.
We have the boys back for our time, and am disappointed that we once again have no shoes for the baby. Including the ones that I had bought. I give DS a list of the things he needs to get from her but he is not managing to get them from her, from Lunch bags and boxes, dummies and bottles.

So today I have finally looked at my SOA and the budget that I have been ignoring lately. Oh dear, I have to find another £147 a week to fill the black hole of loosing my HB and 25% single occupancy on the council tax, and meeting the credit card payments etc
That is a scary number. So my business head needs to be back on and I definitely need to be paying myself a higher wage. ( even though that will also then affect the tax credits and we will be revisiting the budget again.)
DS has a job interview tomorrow evening, so I am hoping that he will be successful and get work closer to home, and have more hours. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
