Mooloo, no tips for escapees. Hopefully the older lad will eventually learn to listen to you, even if it takes a while longer for his parents to be heard ...

    Sleep tight Mooloo x

Going back to aprons, pinnies etc My mum wore one of those wrapover cotton pinnies which reached just below the knee . it was to protect clothing while cooking and doing the housework . laying fires etc. Laundry in the 50s couldn't be put in an automatic and left to do everything . Monday was washday and lasted all day . Main meal would be remnants of the Sunday roast and veg .
She wore house shoes indoors -probably shoes no longer smart enough for outdoors . I think she'd have run naked through the streets before she would leave the house in an apron and slippers .

Back then if your lace curtains weren't regularly washed and whiter than white or your door step wasn't scrubbed daily and the edge donkey stoned you weren't judged to be respectable .

I was born, raised and am proud to be still living in the North . However one of my favorite things is my WM . I don't do lace curtains and my doorstep gets a blast of the power washer though it's rarely needed living in an agricultural rather than industrial area .polly .

Full on day ahead today. Lots of work in to do.
I did absolutely nothing after the boys left yesterday afternoon and that includes several mattress protectors that I was going to unpicking while watching tv. So my trolley is staying at home today and I will do the things tonight instead. First job will be wages as I left the laptop at the shop over the weekend as well.
So time to focus on the jobs in hand and make sure that I am back on track in the next few days.
I have an order for more little purses with fire engine fabric so I have had to order a metre of the fabric so I can fill the order, but I don't plan to keep buying more fabric the aim is to try and use what I have been gifted to turn it in to cash. Remember I have still a small amount of stuff on my credit card and am determined to clear it (even though it is not my debt and Biggest is covering it each month, I just want it gone. So everything any of them pay me back can start to fill the savings pot up!

I hope you slept well Mooloo, it sounds like a busy day ahead.

Aprons are invaluable for keeping good clothes clean when cooking and cleaning. With the current craze for cleaning with social media influencers like Mrs Hinch etc, there could be quite a market for pretty aprons and other accessories - peg bags, and so on?

I think you've made a good point . The vintage thing still has a way to go . My eldest dd who could afford any wedding chose a part homemade wedding - the sort you see in Country Living . She even rescued a ladies vintage bike and sprayed the frame pale blue and filled the front basket with flowers from her own gardens . It was placed outside the hotel venue with a handwritten message to arriving guests . Hotel for the weekend and wedding flowers from David Austin cost a lot but a many things were homemade .

I know peg bags are still very much a thing . I made a few years ago and everyone that saw them wanted one so I think the cut out ones Mooloo has are worth finishing and putting up for sale either in the shop window , online or both .

I must confess I'm fed up hearing about Mrs Hinch . It doesn't take so many products and various things to have a clean home . She's been lucky to be in the right place at the right time so good for her. I don't like the fact she's promoting so much stuff and getting payback either in products or cash . She's now got a book due to go on sale .

I wouldn't be comfortable in her house , it's a shiny, perfect showcase rather than a home .

Hope today has gone well Mooloo . I don't know if you forgot to bring the laptop back on Friday or intended leaving it there . After the recent break in I would be wary leaving things like a laptop behind .

Left the laptop deliberately because it was raining and I was walking home.
I will get it tomorrow as I need to use the car to go to my meeting so can drive passed.
I am getting a poster made advertising the fabric sale etc for the shop window with wording saying due to relocating. But my temporary sign is working as I sold quite a bit of fabric today. Although I didn't get masses of work done. I finished the dotty stuff and then a few smaller jobs, however I had fittings and the sales to sort out.
This evening we had a chippy, I just didn't fancy anything I had leftover to eat.
After dealing with my bag of unpicking I have upcycled another denim jacket.
Dgd has brought down her jacket now and wants me to upcycle her one.
    The bed is calling now.

Once again I was awake far too early. My eyes don't feel bright eyed and nor do I feel bushy tailed! But once I woke needing the bathroom I couldn't sleep my brain is too active and it's always active in my dreams as well!
So I fast forwarded the teasmade and am having a cuppa.
I have checked my bank balances, and have managed, for now to add to my savings pots. So one has £650 and the other £500 at the moment. I may have to use them later but for now I am trying to put away as much as I can. I haven't taken any wages this year from work but I have bought a few things paying with PayPal from the business so that will be classed as my drawings. I am deliberately keeping things in savings as much as I can on my personal finance and trying to clear the business overdraft as soon as I can on the other hand.
Not quite hitting target everyday but it is slowly improving.
Next door told me in April he will be getting a digger to do the trench into my garden to get the water reconnected so he will do the area for my workshop if I show him where I want it. I plan to pace out an area tomorrow. However much as I would like to have used the top end of the garden it has obviously been used as a dumping ground before my time and it is too much work and expense to dig up. I may just have to have the workshop closer to the house. Which may have its advantages.
I will get as big an area concreted as I can afford and then I can save again for the actual building like we did with the drive, although in the end Mum helped me with that. But I want to do this myself rather than borrowing from Mum.
I am happy to start in my front room now that I have the place rearranged etc
Meetings with Social this morning. I hope that DS is going to be ok, as I know despite what he says to me he is not totally ready to abandon the gf and I will struggle not to say anything about the situation. At least I can say that the boys were happy and clean when they arrived.
Time to get up and get moving.
