Mooloo, I'm sorry that you are having to re-jig your trip to Portugal (is there any point in me asking why it is you who has to change when the mistake was made by someone else?!) :(

I hadn't realised that you intend running your classes in Portugal. Is it your attention to run these as part of a holiday, or appeal to ex-pats? Either way, it sounds like an idea way to get yourself some, much needed, sunshine whilst still keeping some money coming in!

I'm assuming you heard from Twin 1 yesterday . I'm wondering if you told dgd she wouldn't be able to go to her mums as arranged and that's caused this mornings going to school problem .

I wasn't aware you were going to Portugal at this stage but is there a possibility you could take dgd with you and fit a bit of swimming etc into your plans ?

It's not long until the KS2 Sats begin on May 13th so perhaps a few days away will settle her a little . After the chat with her a few weeks ago you may find she'll open up about any problems when it's just the 2 of you and no one elses problems to be dealt with on the spot .

    Hope today gets better .

Lurking to say, recently on A New Life in the Sun. There was a villa owner who hosted a sewing weekend. So she provided the accommodation, sewing machines etc, and the hostess employed a seamstress to go over from the Uk to teach the classes.

It looked lots of fun, they all had a good time and the seamstress didn't have to invest in property.

it's worth thinking about doing in the interim I would have thought?

It was in series 4, not sure which episode https://www.channel4.com/programmes/a-new-life-in-the-sun/on-demand/68083-015

Twin1 is good at not listening!
She also was supposed to let me know what exactly was happening today. However I am in no mood to chase today. I have been struggling with everything today. Sleep has been evading me too much. People are irritating me.
The Seamstress apologised about being snappy, but not about the work. I told her To work upstairs but she didn't. I told her to just concentrate on the job in hand, but she was in non stop talking mode despite my efforts to get her to focus. I couldn't focus and gave up and brought my work home, but that was difficult because DS was here with her and the children. I knew he was popping in to use the Internet as they have been cut off, but I didn't know that she was off her new job -sick, and the kids were also home. My observation was she didn't bother about the children and ignored what the toddler was saying or doing. I took matters in my own hands and got him to eat his dinner by sitting beside him, not leaving him at the table on his own. DS did the dinner, and a few things but he was on the phone to the car insurance and also trying to do his theory test practice for his HGV in a few days time. I did continue to sew other than that but was glad when they went as I struggled to be polite to her, although I did try to get her to engage with the lad, and to see that her attitude to people trying to sort out something on their claim for UC was causing things to get worse because she doesn't listen.
I sewed until about an hour ago, but struggling today so the jobs seamed to take me ages.
On a good note the insurance paid out in full. So the business account is now just teetering in the Black again. So that's £1,200 cleared from the overdraft.
The lady in the shop has kept my jackets to see if they sell or not. I will speak to her next week about how we go forward if she is interested and gets a response.
Now I am going to try once again to get some sleep.

I'm afraid I have never heard of Mrs Hinch and, from what you have said, I don't think that is a bad thing! I don't do social media much, rarely visit FB and am not on Twitter. Get a look while you can - a real, live dinosaur! :rotfl:

Mooloo, I hope today goes as it should.

I have never heard of Mrs Hinch either! Then today I noticed Biggest has mentioned her on her Avon page. So of course now I am curious. But if I go and look her up then I will side track and waste copious amounts of time distracted where I really don't need to be!
I have already wasted about 40 minutes with emails and Facebook feeds!
I must stop letting the internet seduce me into its clutches.

I plan to finish my cup of tea.
Get dressed etc and sit at the sewing machine table down stairs and prepare as much of the work I brought home as I can. I was off my game yesterday and today I need to get my head back on track.
I feel that I am at quite a turning point with my sewing directions at the moment.
My workshops are to be featured in a national sewing magazine.
My upcycle jackets are in a trendy boutique in the next town.
My dotty clothes are being used for a fashion shoot with Models One in London today.
I have two staff in the shop so I can work from home.
I am changing the way I do things and excited for where I could be heading next.

It's great to hear you excited about the future Mooloo! :) I really hope that this is the beginning of an up-turn in your fortunes.

I also hope that you were able to sleep last night. The things you have described - generally feeling irritable and difficulty in concentrating - are likely tiredness. But I know, all too well, that it is not as easy as simply going to bed and hoping sleep will come :( Even when you do sleep, it sounds as if your mind is still going and you are not really resting (((hugs))).

Do you use any mediation, relaxation or mindfulness techniques? If not, it might be worth considering. I understand that it is difficult to shoe-horn anything else into your day, but a few minutes of something like this would probably be more beneficial to you than 'WILFing'*

I'm afraid that the more I hear about DS's GF, the less I like. I can't imagine leaving a young child to get on and eat on their own. There is a risk of choking, never mind anything else!

I wish everyone a happy POETS day**

I went into work around 10 with the work I had done last night and this morning. I have been sewing for the majority of the last 13 hours. I started before 8am. Sewed till I walked to work. Straight to the machines 20 minutes later. Worked till 4.30, filled my trolley and came home via the bank, and 25 minutes later I was sewing again. Put dinner in the oven around 6.15 and continued to sew. Until about 25 minutes ago.
I hope that I will sleep better tonight.
I sometimes listen to Hypnosis tapes, I use lavender and camomile sleep mist. My screens go sepia around 9.30.
Talking of sleep I think I am ready to go to bed now.

    Wonder what today will bring?
The birds are singing and the sun is shining. Could be a good day if it stays dry.
I am hoping that I will get the shop vacuumed before I open so I will aim to leave 20 minutes earlier than normal.
This afternoon I only have one of my girls booked for her lesson but I am going to still do it as I am going to make aprons alongside her for Mother's Day.
