Busy day. Curtains to shorten on a same day turn around, a coat with the arm half ripped off needed for school tomorrow. A bra to mend, a tie, jeans pocket, and something else I can't remember at work. 5pm opticians for dgd glasses. Bye bye £80
Home and 5.30-8.30 14 table runners made. Pizza and salad for tea. Then unpicking session, 3 trouser zips, cushion zip, 4 rows of stitching on a waistband ready to replace the elastic, a hem of a dress prepared. Three attempts at a spring clip case!
    11pm
Erm bedtime. Dgd did her maths homework without a fuss.

I'm surprised that someone sends a bra out to mend! I'm afraid I chuck mine if I cannot repair them myself :o Mind you, I expect other people will be surprised at the things I get someone else to do, rather than sorting it myself.

Speaking of which - We were due to have a new cleaner start yesterday; she contacted me 10 minutes before she was due to say that she had changed her mind. OK, it does sound as if she has a lot on her plate, but surely she knew that 5 days ago when she agreed to start?! Back to 'Gumtree' for me . . .
    It's not difficult!

Back in the day when I had a cleaner I would find my self cleaning up before the cleaner came!!

I will admit to doing that - but only because I want the cleaner to spend time doing things that I can't, rather than paying them to do the things I can!

Someone else came to see us yesterday and is going to start on Monday. Let's see how this one works out. I think the thing that particularly upset me is that I really liked the other girl, it suggests that I am not a good judge of character.

Gosh what a few days I have had.
Set a target of sewing £150- worth each day, and a shop target of £205 a working day for the rest of the month to do down the business overdraft and pay the next month rent.
So I have been working hard to keep on task. Good start, we hit target both Friday and Saturday. With about £5 over.
My beginner course yesterday morning only had 3 people attend but it went well and I have sold a sewing machine off of the back of it. We decided to offer a fast order deal that ends tomorrow when I order the machine and at 9am today we sold the second machine , and I have a lady interested in a second hand one. So I can start to sell off my surplus ones.
The machines are something that I can sell from my website and Facebook pages and can be sent out from the manufacturer directly to the customer for me so I can continue to do that when I am working at home.
We have been promoting the little Makes from the remnants we have and this morning I have struck a deal to supply a variety of little pet related novelty keyrings, poo bags, and purses with a lady on line. I was worried it was a scam but she has sent me a deposit via PayPal of £50 so I am happy to make some extra bits for her in between jobs.
My brother was supposed to be over today but ended up seeing mum yesterday so this afternoon I have been cutting out and making some purses. I was going to be making some glasses cases too, but I didn't make them long enough so they will remain purses and I will cut out some longer ones soon.
I have a trolley of jobs to keep me busy this evening.
Dgds drum kit is up. I had a scratching of head moment or two as no instructions but I did it.
We salvaged some bricks from the rubble next door ( with permission) and have now a stand for my broken BBQ. So I am thrilled with that.
My friend has taken the kids to Bounce followed by McD so I am happily sewing to my hearts content with the Makes, I have a Salad plated up for later.
    All good.Long may it continue!

Well I have just stopped Sewing!
8 hours playing with remnants and making purses.
Not cost effective as a business but great for feeling creative and for using up the remnants.
6 fire engine purses, 2 scotty dogs, 4 birds, 4 various glasses cases and 2 striped purses. Also an attempt at a dogs coat- although I think I need to try to get the dog in question for a fitting!!

    Time for bed.

I have not quite hit target today as I wasn't sewing. Although my Seamstress was and she did her quota.
I was sorting out the shop, serving etc but had a very long lunch with my family. My brother, his partner and my Mum. We had lunch in the pub at the end of the road, most amazing value for money.
I gave them my treadle sewing machine, as I know it will be well loved etc, as I will not have space to keep it at home.
I was chatting about how busy my head is etc and sound advice from them, don't worry about building the workshop, concentrate on the adaptation of the front room and the selling off of the shop stock, fixtures and fittings. Get through the next 6 months and bank as much as I can. Look at everything that I have and decide what I want to keep and sell now. Have a "garage sale" on a Sunday to clear out shop stock. Putting everything in one place I.e. the top floor, and see what I can move now.
Look at Mums space she has offered and organise what I want to keep and move it there.
    Seems sensible to me.
They are back to France in a few days.
My sister comes out in 10 days.
Tonight I am going to catch up on my diary, replant my next month, and give myself mini targets.
We were £25 down on target, but it is awful weather so not surprised.

Ps. Managed to say no to twin 2 asking for £30 for her electric. Feeling awful but I know that I can not do it!!
