Spent the main part of the day with Mum.
Dropped little one off, then had a cuppa with Mum and we decided to go to the gardencentre, bought a few odds and sods, nothing garden related of course!
Had bacon and Brie panini with side salad and nachos. And a cheeky glass of wine. Sat talking for a few hours!
Dgd rang at 2.15, she was locked out so I had to dash home.
Just as well as had a couple of parcels delivered.
Made lasagna for tea and it was a disaster! There wasn't enough sauce and the pasta didn't cook! I have never had such a failure in the kitchen ever.!
DS ended up with noodles and the kids the mince out of the middle of the lasagna with chips!
I haven't eaten yet.
I treated myself to a new hot water bottle and note book for my journal. I thought I had bought some named tree decorations but when I got home I didn't have them? Took ages to find the names as someone had messed them all up. So rather miffed that I haven't got them.
At least I wasn't charged for them, so the cashier must have not taken them out of the basket. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Ss, what a shame about the decorations!
It sounds as if your mum is doing well, which must be a weight off your mind. It's not difficult!

Yes Mum is much improved.
She actually walked up the stairs on her own yesterday. I went to her this afternoon and took her to her opticians appointment and we popped into my favourite dress shop for some magnetic scarf clips that we plan to use to hold our knitted cardigan coats together that don't have belts. Then I took her home in time for her washing machine to be delivered.
I also did another Aldi shop making sure that apart from milk we really shouldn't need anything else. I don't go big and overboard on extra food. A panettone and a cake, and a bag of popcorn are all the extras that I got.
So Mum and I have everything we need for the next week ( except the milk), and I can relax about shopping.
I was going to wrap gifts tonight but never got around to it.
I am in bed now. Sciatica is rearing it's head again down my left side, so I have a hot water bottle under me at the moment.
DS is home from work so I am switching off and going to listen to my Hypnosis while hopefully I fall asleep. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Ss, I hope that your attempt to sleep tonight is more successful than mine!
The scarf clips sound like a good idea. I have a couple of things that I use to hold together cardigans etc, they have small clips at each end. Mind you, I have real difficulty in getting them on straight - not helped by the fact that my left hip is much higher than my right, so nothing looks straight anyway! It's not difficult!

I have had a good night, I basically told DS it was all up to him, and I fell in to quiet a deep sleep with my Hypnosis tape. I didn't hear the children until 6.45 this morning.
I took them down stairs, changed the baby because he was soaking, and said all yours to DS and came back up to bed, put same tape back on and fell back to sleep until 9.20am
I am not going down yet, I am having a cuppa in my cosy corner in my bedroom before I venture anywhere.
Hope you got some sleep hb2When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I had my tea, looked at my emails and social media stuff. Went down stairs and made bacon sandwich and another cuppa. Came back up and read for a few minutes and then I have been down for a shower. I really must find time to get my hair cut it's getting too long and I can actually put it in a paintbrush of a ponytail now!
I have decided that I ought to wrap the presents as I don't want to by the time the evening comes.
We can't put them under the tree this year as it would be decimated by the wee one. So I think I will ferry them out into the workshop as my room is too crowded with everyone putting them in here.
So that's my mission this morning-afternoon.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well done for carving out some time for yourself Ss, I hope you can do it more often.
We are now down in Devon until Friday. We had a reasonable journey and, thankfully, our son's train was on time so we met up easily in Exeter. It's not difficult!

Merry Christmas everyone!!
The chaos has subsided and the calm has arrived for a little while.
The children actually didn't wake up until 7.50 which was very good going. They didn't really understand the concept of Christmas quiet and so they were happy to wait until Daddy woke up at 9 before they opened presents. Although then we had the screaming and arguing. Both wanted what the other was opening.
DS Friends popped by with some sweets and a gift for DS, his GF came round to share opening their presents and has gone home for a while. She has leant DS her car to go to work as his has decided to not start at all.
He has been offered extra money for helping in a different Restaurant Pub for a few hours today. So although he wasn't going to originally work, it made sense to earn 8 hours wages for a two hour shift.
The baby is now 2. I will have to stop calling him the baby. He has tired himself out and gone to bed for a little while. Gadgets have taken place of the toys at the moment.
I have the meat in the oven, the pigs in blankets are wrapped and ready to go in, the potatoes are ready and I will be finishing making the stuffing in a little while.
I am cheating with frozen vegetables.
I might even have a glass of sparkling wine with my meal curtesy if a bottle from my Brother.
Mum is having a roast dinner meal and is content to watch the TV and have a little brandy Coke later.
We have caught up on Skype this morning.
Both twins have called me, and one of abiggests children rang up to say Thankyou for their hampers.
I bought DGD a laptop for Christmas as she really needed access to a computer for her school work. I hope that it will help her to improve her grades etc. She has started to work with the big life journal that I got her as well.
I have had a lovely locket and heart bag charm from DS, and slippers from his GF. And my much loved Dove products from Biggest.
My Mum has deposited some money in my bank and so I used that for the deposit on our Summer Holiday to Disney Paris .
Just a 3 night stay, but we have two lodges and 11 of us will be going.
So my mission to make me get motivated is to challenge myself to neutralise the cost by making and selling things like I did when we went to Tunisia in 2014 before I opened the shop.
The shop looks so empty and forlorn when I drive past. But I cannot have regrets for the coming year it is a new year, a new Decade and a completely different life is upon us.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
