Sorry
I am probably going to get crucified for this but you are threatening your grown up son with the confiscation of his XBox?
That's just not right on a number of levels!
If the threat works then it works. He may be an adult but as he is in my home and he is acting like a teenager always on the Xbox then yep.
I threatened to take it away.
It got the beds built. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Do you feel strong enough to call the council's bluff? I can't help but feel you will be left up sh*t creek without a paddle. Do you feel able to say to the social workers: "I cannot do this on my own, financially, physically and emotionally. I will NOT agree to take these boys until funding and support is agreed and put in writing, with concrete dates. Until you can do this, I cannot and will not take these children."
You don't have to mean it, of course but unless you seriously put your foot down and make them act, they won't hurry with anything.
I will be engaging a solicitor this week to make sure that I am not left high and dry.
I have learnt quite a lot over the years.
I will get help where ever I can.
I don't know if I can do it for the next 16 years, but I was not sure when I took on Dgd. And that was 9 years ago. I am still standing and I can see that I have coped in the end, and I can't see why I cannot do the same for the foreseeable future.
My health is better now than it was in 2010.
I think having Dgd made me determined to get better and I continue to improve. Obviously I won't be the spritliest parent at the school gates when they graduate but I cannot see why I have to be decrepit either. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Two babies asleep in their cots for the last hour. Two four year olds in the bunk beds are still chatting away, but hopefully they will sleep soon.
Dgd and I will watch a film if we get a chance. DS will be back about 1am I think.
Bathtime was a bit like a production line though.
My feet ache! I didn't sit down much today as I was packing up my workshop this morning and then making up 6 beds this afternoon and doing the housework etc when I got home, and straight into the evening meal then Biggest arrived with the others so it's been full on. Dgd Just made me a cup of tea and I have opened my box of chocolates that I got for my birthday. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
