Firegate continues. Despite the new part it's still not working, so I refused to sign the time sheet, n pay.Boss is ringing me back tomoz
Leaving you without heat, being unreliable and now not fixing the issue dispite you having got the part.. I think the ‘boss’ should know how all this has negatively effected your health and exasperated your conditions.. What a bunch of arrsehats!"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇0 -
Hi fabbers,
I hope you are all well. I have been MIA whilst settling into my new job, but I have been keeping up to date with the thread. I have had to travel to the Midlands from London quite a few times, so it’s rather full on, but I am much more positive about this role then the last one.
My new role is based in Central London and I am a stones throw away from The shops. I am looking forward to having a nice wander around the shops in my lunch break, as I rarely get the opportunity to so without the children.0 -
Candygirl, you have been patience personified, but now is the time to get assertive with the Manager of the company.
Chanie, it is good to hear from you and to learn that your current post is proving to be a much better fit for you.0 -

Good morning lovely ladies.....yes I know it's early but I'm wide awake.:rotfl:
Candy....that is dreadful, such shoddy service. I hope you get things sorted soon. Enough is enough.
Chanie......good to see you again. Glad the job is going well. Lucky you being in central London. I know it will busy at times but I'm sure it will be such a buzz.
Well I had a lovely day yesterday, spending time with one of my oldest and dearest friends, we've known each for 52 years.:rotfl:
Afterwards I browsed the chazzers. Picked up 3 tops for £4. I have found a Cancer Rsearch clearance shop where everything is £1 so 2 from there and 1 from Air Ambulance for £2. Unbelievable prices for nice quality items.
I am going to build up a more "streamlined" wardrobe, concentrating on a limited palette of colours so I can mix and match. I am going for Scandy Style in blues, greys, whites, creams.
Not sure what today brings yet........;).0 -
I've been feeling a bit despondent as I haven't managed to lose any more weight this week so far despite eating healthily!
I was just watching some of the new videos my favourite people on YouTube have out and have been inspired to feel more positive and take action.:A
I want to set SMART goals. Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based goals.
1. Lose half a stone by the concert. I'm going to do a cleanse from this weekend onwards for about 5 days. Lots of smoothies, salads and HM soups.
2. My husband gets paid next week and I want to start saving money again as I have been all over the place the last few months. I want to save at least £500 a month so I will have an extra £5,000 in savings by the end of 2019.
3. Keep on with the reflexology each week for the whole 10 sessions. I am going to reduce it to once a month after that for the rest of 2019.
4. Ear candling every 3 months. I have marked it on the calendar to remind myself.
5. Use my trampoline at least 3 times a week. My ear/sinus infection is finally better after the last ear candling session so I need to start exercising regularly.
6. Continue with the daily self-care.

Great plan there Wednesday. And yes they are SMART goals. You'll do it.
Anyway good afternoon lovely ladies.
Hope you are all well and happy, and busy fabbing away.
Well this morning was funny. I went for my acupuncture.....got the wrong day, it's next Tuesday...:rotfl: I get worse.
So then I went to the garden centre.....a different one, to check out tree prices. Couldn't access that section because it had been closed off due to high winds. Thought I'd have a coffee whilst there and took one look at the queues and thought I won't bother..,
So then I popped into a nearby chazzer and picked up a beautiful velvet and brocade evening jacket for £4.
So a nice end to what could have been a very frustrating morning.
Candy.....any news on the gas fire.0 -
Nothing fabbing today...just a grizzle, because it will make me feel better (and that's fabbing, isn't it!)
The Saga of My Son's Washer Dryer
Ordered a washer-dryer on special offer from Currys. Paid £45 extra to have it delivered, fitted and the old one taken away.
Firstly, they didn't deliver it on the day the said, and lied about it. They said they had knocked the door and there was no answer. Untrue- my son was in all day, he took a day off work to wait in. I think they just saw it was a second-floor flat and couldn't be !!!!!d.
Son complained on phone.
Secondly, delivered it two days later. Son took another day off work. Left it stuck in the middle of the kitchen with the old one still plumbed in as 'they didn't know they had to install it and take it away'.
Son complained on phone.
Thirdly, came back the following day to install it (son on holiday by this time). Couldn't, because they couldn't unfasten the old one from the taps, said son would have to call a plumber. My husband and son unscrewed it in a few minutes after they had gone.
Son complained on phone.
Fourthly, they came back again to install it. This guy said there was no reason why the first one could not have done it. However, he 'didn't know he had to take the old one away' so left it stuck in the middle of the kitchen.
Son complained on phone.
Fifthly, they took the old machine away and refunded the £45 he had paid.
Sixthly, son's downstairs neighbour returned from holiday to find his kitchen ceiling soaking wet. Found out that they had not installed the machine correctly.
Son and downstairs neighbour complained on phone.
Seventh, son's downstairs neighbour installed machine correctly (he is a plumber, son will just ask him next time) and started a claim against the company.
Do not EVER use Know How to install anything, or even deliver/dispose of. Not worth the hassle.
Rant over ! Thanks for listening.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

LL thanks you for the feb kick up the behind.
I agree with everything you say. Making the best out of things and your self can be done at all budget points.
Recently changing the bed linen I realized that i have a hoard of "Best"- the crazy good stuff in packets of dorma and sanderson, never used and I was using bobbly linen that really never was great. I can't bring back the good stuff so why keep it for good. If i was hit by a bus- no one will appreciate my stuff as much as me so I intend using it. Any things that are not great, I will edit it out and donate to someone else. Life is short, Let us use best everyday. Take down the fancy mug or teapot; it might break but it could break also after never been used.
I have been wearing the make up daily, not as a mask in the past but as a better version of myself. In recent years the availability of different colours allows me to look natural and less made up. I prefer looking like a better version of me than a mask painted on. My most recent passport picture was so painted on, contouring and heavy make up to show any facial features that it resembles a mask in reality but came out amazing in the black and white photos. I think I am the only person who has a passport that seriously looks better than reality without makeup.
After much difficulty I ended up getting a doctor, I was fearful that i would have to go to the vet, but with the equine flu going it would be not ideal. Hopefully I can turn my attention to health and fitness, I always feel like February- it's not a new years resolution! I have to get the whole bloods done and get some activity in.
The heated blankets are great, get the one with the timer as i tend to fall a sleep on the sofa with them. they are great for avoiding the heating going on too early and if you are sitting around. I used them in a house with no insulation that was so cold.0 -
Good morning lovely ladies......
SFT. You are right to concentrate on health issues. The tail end of winter can leave us feeling very drained so a bit of extra TLC can only be a good thing. And yes, definitely start using your nice things. As you say no one else will appreciate them really. They will have their own special things.
I have had a break from decluttering for a while but will be going back to it again soon. And part of this is starting to use my nice things instead of having them in boxes or cupboards.
Well now.....if my scales are right then I have lost another 2lbs. Wahoo. Onwards and downward..
Got my builder coming this afternoon to work out a schedule for the next steps.
Have a great day.0
