  • Has anyone ever had a lot of hair breakage from the tangle teaser? I have a wet brush but recently swopped to the tangle teaser as it is easier to find. My hair seems to be more split and fragmented just recently.
  • When my hair was longer I used a tangle teaser, I found it suited my hair. My hair is fine and does get tangled if I don't keep it short. I use one with GDs with long hair and it works well with them. Is your hair curly? We all have straight hair so could that be the difference?
  • Thanks for the tip Candygirl, I will try to get some today.

    Good morning lovely ladies...

    Just a quickie, can't type much......bursitis......frozen shoulder. :o

I'll just read along for a few days so, in my absence, keeeep fabbing and lots of TLC. Keep warm.

SFT. Just wanted to thank you for decorating link. Hope the inflammation dies down soon. I'm another one who can't take anti inflammataries, not even ibruprofen. Have you tried turmeric. Upsets my stomach unfortunately.

The best treatment I have found with the least side effects is CBD oil, but again I can only use it sparingly because of tummy upsets. My acupuncture dr has told me to take rosehip oil in powdered form in capsules.

Just starting on a low dose and need to build up. So far no adverse tummy effects. It's too early to see if it's helping my knees.

Have to stop typing now. Take care all.
  • lessons - i have the tumaric tea and it is refreshing. How much effect it has i am unsure of.

I don't know enough about CBD oil at all. Heads off to spend the day on NIH and Pubmed. I will really look into it as I need to know more.

I intend wrapping up like a turkey and staying toasty today. Heat helps a lot. I have day of sitting in front of the tv planned.

LL I don't know if they do it in your area but where I live we can self refer to physio at the local hospital. I did it when I had shoulder trouble. I had a broken shoulder which then resulted in a frozen shoulder and I had GA to unfreeze it and then had physio. Fast forward 20 years or so and I started to get alot of shoulder pain and was worried I would again get a frozen shoulder. I self referred and had three sessions, the first one they assessed what was going on and did some manipulation, a week later I went back and they checked I was doing the exercises correctly and did more manipulation. My third appointment was a month later when we agreed the improvement was great and I was discharged to carry on with the exercises and refer again if any problems. It was a brilliant service in my opinion and I've had no trouble since and it was very MSE as all it cost was some money in the parking meter.

Just wanted to add my husband tried CBD oil and it did nothing for him. His pain is severe and chronic and he is on oramorph so perhaps he is just beyond that being a help.

I don't know about self referral humpty but my GP referred me to physio for a frozen shoulder years ago and it was excellent, just as you describe with exercises to do at home in between appointments. Unfortunately it was some time ago and services locally have deteriorated so it may no longer be the case. It's certainly worth checking out though.:)

Glad you enjoyed your break lantanna. Spa sounds lovely, I'm envious. No snow here. It's been a really lovely bright day and about 5 degrees. I wore my long, quilted coat. It's warm, light and comfortable but I don't love it. It was a cheapie from Matalan but if I see a better one I'd buy it. Probably too late for this year though.

Thought of you today chanie. The fashion pages of my paper say that leather or leather look is definitely in so your skirt is very on trend.:) They also previewed the new stuff that's coming into M&S. To be fair they are trying hard, extending the popular ranges (some Holly Willoughby inspired) to more stores and they promise a good trenchcoat that will be worth a look.

I'm having my best day so far. I did go dancing last night and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was a bit breathless at first but it lifted my mood and I'm glad I went. :) I went out for a bit of shopping earlier but then just flopped and watched some catch up TV for a rest.:o Hope all the poorlies are taking it easy too.

I found a holiday series (Rip Off Britain) presented by Julia Somerville, Angela Rippon and Gloria Hunniford and I did some virtual people watching!:D Now I know that they're all older than me or rather us but I didn't think they'd worn well or were fabbed to their best advantage, especially considering they'd have had professional help/advice from the tv people. My first thought that all three had dyed their hair so much that it looked like straw. Skin looked over made up, lined and wrinkly, probably from too many programmes in the sun.:rotfl:Julia Somerville probably a bit less so but I thought the others looked overdressed for the sun in clothes that were too structured. Take a look if you've got the inclination and let us know what you think.:)

I've been keeping up with drinking water this week as I think keeping hydrated with a cold is especially important but not been good at reading. I need to do a big catch up.
  • I have to pull the spending back as this month I have been spending money like mad. There were a few structural projects on the house which will add value to the house, but more important give me comfort.

For the next week or three I will eat out the freezer and use up what I have. I will try and avoid the shops as sometimes you just have to pull back.

my day of planned sitting in front of the tv was derailed as had to go to the hardware store, butcher, garage and bank. Today I bought a new scarf and dress from brakeburn. They are navy and really wearable.

Maman, I’ve committed to the 12 month book thing too. Have read about 100 pages so like yourself need to catch up. Roll on the weekend for some fabbing. The cold weather is just making me want to hibernate
