  • I have not been to a hairdresser in a few years. I have very curly hair and have never found a hairdresser who specialises in curls, so I just cut it myself. it goes it's own way anyway, no nothing to lose.

I bought some false nails yesterday (my real nails just keep breaking at the moment, better if I drink water though) and am just about to try them out - never done anything like this before, so could be a disaster ...............

Oooh good luck with your nails! I’ve got curly hair too. After a long time of straightening and trying to fight the frizz I’ve decided to embrace my natural curls. Went to work today with curly hair and got lots of compliments. More than I’ve ever had when it’s straight lol

Am trying out a more natural styling approach using the curly girl method. If anyone has any experience of his please do share 😊

frugal lass. I did curly girl for a couple of years, but my hair never felt properly clean. Now, I use curly girl friendly products, but I don’t co-wash. I use Cantu products. Plopping has made the biggest difference to my hair. In fact, I recently bought a micro fibre hair towel which I have been trialing.

I'm in the curly club too. However about a year ago parts of my hair wouldn't curl and just did not look nice.S o I took the plunge and had it chemically straightened. It was a wee bit expensive but worth it as I didnt have to go for blow dries to look halfway human. Its just now going back to curly. Am I imagining that eating jelly is supposed to be very good for your nails ? Mines always split and I end up trying to bite off the raggy bit, thereby losing the whole nail. My hope is to get up to the college and make use of £3 manicures. There are a few movies I want see right now and as soon as I'm right I'll go, even if its on my own. I've been busy batch cooking today due to my bargains of the other day, and will be a total carnivore for the foreseeable future.

  • frugal lass, chanie teedy - I try to use sulphate free products as much as possible on my hair. I use a microfibre towel and plop my hair too. Did it with a t-shirt for many months before I got the towel. I go with the curl most of the time and love the 'semi messy' look of it pinned up with tendrils falling. I use a sprizter with a mix of water and conditioner to dampen it on day 2 and 3. I have watched many youtube videos re care of curly hair!!!!
    :rotfl:
  • I had to look up plopping, never heard of it but as I have straight hair I suppose that is to be expected.

I recommend getting a wet brush for curly hair. I mainly brush my hair when it’s wet. I heard good things about wet brushes and found some in TK Maxx for under a fiver.

  • lessons hope the paining is going well, i would advocate taking a photo and uploading it into one of the paint company colour sectors websites as you can adjust the colour. It allows you to visualize the end result. I found it helped me decide to avoid certain colours from the start. As what is nice for a small accent would be too much in my room.

I'm cosseting myself and still on the paracetamol and Lemsip. Hope to be feeling better tomorrow and fabbing can get back to normal. :)

Poor maman, try to sleep as much as possible, thats best. Its a stinker of a cold this year, I'm still having tummy troubles but nowhere near as bad, just that unsafe feeling that stops me going out. I'm glad I bought some UHT milk .
