Thanks for your good wishes. I have been taking it easy but I've also been trying to keep going as well (if that makes sense).:)

I'm determined to go dancing tonight. It'll give me a reason for getting myself fabbed up a bit and, if it takes it out of me, I can rest up tomorrow. Which reminds me, please don't overdo it LL (and other extreme cleaners and DIYers). I'm assuming those are ceiling beams you've been painting.

Sadly I have to go to two funerals on Thursday and Friday. My elderly neighbour and a friend who although we knew wouldn't recover but the end was very sudden so a bit of a shock. They're not close family but it's still sad.:(

I'll get fabbed up for those too. That's not because I'm frivolous but I think it's respectful. I appreciate the most important thing is being there and caring but I know (my friend in particular) would have made an effort herself so I shall do the same.:)

I, too, have experimented with my hair all ways. I don't think we're ever satisfied with the hand we're dealt. Personally I think curly hair looks fab but those who have it often don't agree.

Although I still can't taste much there are small signs that things are improving. I can't remember how all the sensors work but I can now smell Olbas Oil and feel the difference between sharp and sweet. The best news is that when I went for my customary spray in JL yesterday I could smell the Jo Malone Red Roses!:D

maman I hope you feel well enough to go dancing. Sorry to read that you have two funerals to go to this week. I love your plan of getting fabbed up. When my time is up, I think I want everyone to fab up for my funeral.

I had some retail therapy today, with a trip to Westfield. I bought a new pair of jeans in the sale, some toiletries a jumpsuit and a t shirt. My wardrobe is full of dark colours as I am a bit scared of bright colours and patterns. I have recently discovered a blogger who wears lots of colour and it made me realise I should just go for it. So, I bought a shirt with an animal print. It’s still fairly tame (sorry for thr pun), but unlike most items in my wardrobe.

I’m off now to pick up thr children.
  • I did a hair treatment and put sweet almond oil on my face. I think that works better for me than serums so I'm going to use that and just use the serum afterwards around my eyes.:)

I put on a bottle green jumper I bought and haven't worn before. Totally frumpy and unflattering () so that can go to the chazzer on Friday just before I get my reflexology done.

    Good afternoon ladies

Acupuncture this morning, massage this afternoon. Neither were a pleasure.:o:rotfl:

I am in so much pain with my fibro and arthritis, I could hardly bear to be touched. Never mind the treatments will kickstart the healing. The massage therapist said my body was a mass of knotted muscles. But then it's been nearly 3 months since my last massage, far too long. I won't leave it as long in future. I now have a splitting headache after my treatments so just going to rest.

SUgarbaby I need to take a leaf out of your book, lots of rest, hot baths and some stretches. It does work, about the only thing that does. So for the next few days I'm definitely going to take it easy.

The decorating will go on hold.

Tbh I made a tactical error. I forgot to wear a mask and of course it was too cold to open the windows. Consequently I was up half the night with an upset stomach from the paint fumes. Will I ever learn. :rotfl: daft I know, but I just forgot how badly paint can upset me. I was just so intent on getting cracking I didn't stop to think. Talk about bull at a gate - more enthusiasm than skill as my teachers used to say......

So the kitchen can wait until the weather is warmer and I can fling open the windows and doors to dissipate the fume. I was just raring to go and all excited at the thought of getting it done before summer. Never mind it can wait a bit longer. Better to take my time and not kill myself in the process.. :rotfl: Anyway I've got plenty to keep me amused and out of trouble, still got plenty of decluttering I can be getting on with.

I agree Maman it's not frivolous to dress up for a funeral. It's a mark of respect and a way of honouring the deceased.

Re your sense of taste......you are right, smell and taste are linked. Our taste depends on our sense of smell so when it is affected by a heavy cold it also affects our taste buds. It should come back soon.

January is not a kind month and I do think our immune systems take a pounding at this time of year. It will soon be over, at least the days are starting to lengthen again.

ll I really admire your ‘get up and go’ with your home.

Have you made a decision about Iceland? (Apologies if you have already posted about it).

Just had a catch up, took forever!

After enjoying time away at the spa I’m now back and back at work.

We have snow here, need to buy some warmer jumpers for work.
  • I've been washing my hair like mad to try and lighten it after I coloured it and it went too dark. Looking much better today, I'm looking healthier as well and I think the combination of a very pale me with very dark hair was a bit of a disaster. I've been using the products DD bought me for 4 weeks now and I am very pleased with how healthy my hair is looking, even the need for a cut doesn't seem so bad.

I'm going to order some more of the neck cream as it does seem to have had a positive effect, not looking sweet 16 yet but I'll settle for any improvement.

    Hope everyone is well.

  • It has gotten really cold and chilly for the last few days. It has been playing havoc with my leg and arm. My joints are swollen and stiff. It is not ideal. I can not take anti-inflammatories due allergy and I intend opening the jar of cold liver oil and taking it tomorrow. It might help. I have been taking my vitamins since the start of the year and feel better.

I have the fridge ladden down with vegetables. I need to increase the quantity of healthy stuff as yesterday I eat too much sweet cake and felt awful for it. this evening I bought the carrot battons and enjoyed them twice as much. I only have to make a decision not to buy it in the supermarket once where if i buy rubbish, i have to actively choose not to eat rubbish every time I open a cupboard,
