Good Morning everyone. Hope you are all nice and warm & cozy , we have snow but not a lot so we are ok .
I think im back ,thanks to all you lovely people. We cant stay down for long when we have all this fabbing to do
Hugs to everyone who is feeling poorly , I had the lurgy before Christmas and only now feeling its going , It takes some shifting ,
Scottish Lassy You are doing wonderful , and your woodland walks
sound so lovely
Teedy I had my house rewired ,and it does make a bit of a mess , but its so worth it , One thing id advise , while your house is all upside down , look at where you want more sockets , I had a lot more put in the kitchen , above the work surfaces , Theyve been a godsend , and more around the house if want to plug something in ( Hoover. etc theres a socket now ) Its not a big job while the house is being re wired , i wouldnt have done it after if you know what i mean because of the decorating etc,
LL You sound as though you are really going good guns . Must admit i fell off the waggon a bit with my healthy eating when i got my knock , but im back ........... no more feeling sorry for myself . Hair done , Lotion on , Perfume on , and a big bag of goodies sorted to go to the Chazza this morning , xx0 -
Just catching up before tackling housework.
Silva salva well done on the haircut.
To all those under the weather get well soon.
Just to say that after buying new pillows I am sleeping much better.i intend to have a pamper later on and def repaint my toenails. I will also give myself a manicure. At the moment I am finding that the cold weather is making my skin quite dry and my lips are burning ,so where did I put the lipsyl.
Not much planned for today.0 -
Good morning lovely ladies
No snow here yet but it's in the north of the county and is forecast in the next few days. I am going to nip out for milk and fresh produce later. Dont need much because the freezer and cupboards are well stocked. It's dark, gloomy, rainy and cold. Not terribly inspiring.
I have decided that when the snow hits I'll go through my study again and finally tackle that paperwork and the photos.
No real news here. Still not 100% but just jogging along, trying to stay focussed and positive. Feeling a bit "widowy" but As you say Moll no point feeling sorry for myself. Glad to see you are back in the game.
Onwards and upwards. Yes winter is about to bite but then it will be spring again...not long now.0 -
Morning everyone,
You are all doing so well, such an inspiration
I've stopped doing my weekend job and it's such a weight off my shoulders, I'll try and find some others ways of earning a few pennies, but a 12 hour shift once or twice on a weekend plus 40 hours during the week was proving too much.
I'm not sure I'm sleeping any better as my mind is really full of emotional 'stuff' at the moment. I think I might start journaling again in the hope that getting out will help.
On the 'fabbing' front, I've died my hair this morning and I'm perfuming everyday.
I've also started back on a slimming world type eating plan. I've tried many diets over the last few years and (when I stick to it) this is the one that has me feeling the healthiest and most in control.
I've lost 4lbs this week, I weigh in on a Saturday morning.
For those with dry lips, I use Blistex lip moisturiser. I put it on morning and night and it works a treat.0 -
I didn't go to book the reflexology yet so will do that after my bath today. I need to shave my legs as I forgot to do that last night.:D I want to buy some lip balm as well.
I really like the red handbag I bought the other day from a chazzer. I wasn't going to buy it but I thought it is in my winter colours so I did. I was walking down the street a couple of days ago and a man slowed down in a car and whistled at me. Lol. Idiot, but it did give me a boost.:o:rotfl:
I haven't lost any more weight so I am gong to start using my trampoline on Monday. I am going to a concert in a month and i wanted to lose at least half a stone by then!:pscottish_lassy wrote: »Just about to go for my walk - I meet a friend 4 mornings (3 of them before work - early start, but worth it) and do 5 miles through woodland - good for the soul (and very meditative).
That sounds very nice.:A0 -
Work up early this morning and left the house early to get all the shopping done. I ran around as no one was in and before the hoards of Saturday shoppers arrived.
I am looking rather in fab as the hair a bit messy tied up in a messy bun with layers of clothes as the winter has come back with a vengeance.
house is tidy and now sitting on the sofa for a day of old classic movies. I love classic movies in black and white like notorious,0 -
It's dull and damp here too but definitely no snow.:D
Still feeling full of cold but nothing worse. I'm just alternating between Lemsip and paracetamol and hoping for the best. We've got football this afternoon. I'll wait until later to decide whether I'm going but, well wrapped up, the fresh air might be good for me.
I'm very impressed with the exercise going on from extreme cleaning to those lovely woodland walks. :rotfl:
That's a brilliant weightloss frankie. :T. I'm all for exercise but IMO although it's great for strength and suppleness, it's what we eat (and drink) that makes the biggest difference.
My nose is a bit red and lips dry so using good old Vaseline.
Next fabbing occasion is tomorrow afternoon. We're going for afternoon tea in an old coaching Inn where Jane Austin had her 18th birthday. I'm not a big fan of cakes but will enjoy scones and sandwiches. Hopefully I'll be able to taste them by tomorrow.:rotfl:

Good morning fabulous people. I'm feeling a bit better, unfortunately not better enough, its taking a while. Who said Lurgie ? that reminds me of "The goons" "spots before the ankles, pink toenails and an acute mountain on the leg " Maybe we should all try saying "ee arr nicki noo" which, as I'm looking at it, seems as if I've been at the gin already lol.
Well the glare off all those windows must be able to be seen from space, well done girls but sorry for your poor elbows.
Pollypenny I envy you your quiz, I used to love going , thing about them is, if you stop you seem to lose all your general knowledge !
Maman: I hope you took that lotion back to Aldi, cant remember who said they threw it in the bin. They are so good at giving refunds, and though its not expensive its still the price of a small chicken. I have diluted things with moisturiser in the past, if I find them too dark or difficult, will try it with the Dove thanks. I also mix a tiny bit of highlighter with my foundation, gives a glowy aspect to it. I'm going to research that book you mentioned, was it you, "So much life left over" something about the title is grabbing me.
Silva sava : great news on the hair. So envious of you and Scottish lassy with the yoga. I cant find a class that doesn't charge a small mortgage, or a waiting list were you have to wait till someone dies.
Moll: I defo need more sockets around and even thought of the ones with USB ports in for the phones, kindle etc. Will have to go around figuring out the best places. I might even take advice on channelling out the walls myself, maybe save some money or time. I really dont want any trunking down the walls, oh and I want ariel ports put in the other rooms. I think thats all.
Wednesday2: well done on the whistle, I know we're not supposed to like it but hey. I love red in winter, cheers me up, maybe thats why Santa wears it.
I must watch less telly during the day and get the radio back on, dancing about to housework has to be a good thing. I'm sure my skin is looking better, slightly plumper and fresher. Last night I had a lovely deep bath with stinkies in and a moisturising treatment on my hair. Done a hot cloth wash on my face, then a cleansing mask, then a moisturising mask to wear in the bath, so I better look better after that.
I notice a few of you give to charity shops, then buy from charity shops. In my area we have shops called revolve. No money changes hands, you take things in and earn points, the better the quality or condition the more points you earn ( they still take the things that are not so good and recycle). All the goods in the shop have a points value and you trade your points for something you like, good isnt it.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

Wednesday......get you with the wolf whistle. :rotfl:
I'm shattered after my shopping trip, shoulders are still very sore, so just settling down to watch St Trinians 2. Love it, reminds me of my own school days. I went to an all girls convent. There were a lot of similarities. Although it was awful, It did have its lighter moments......
Well I am all shopped out now.....the freezer and cupboards are nice and full. Let the weather do its worst.
After a bit of reading, trying to find out the best way to tackle my digestive issues, I have decided to try eating Pegan for while. A mix of paleo and vegan, basically paleo with vegan substitutes for dairy.
I think it may well be dairy that is bothering me. Actually the nutritionist did tell me to drop dairy but I really love cheese and milk. At the time I felt that giving up all grains, avoiding Night shades and also dairy would be far too restrictive. I couldn't see how I could make it work.
Anyway after reading up I have decided to give it a go. I have to say there's a lot more choice for vegans now than there was even just a couple of years ago. I m going to give it a whirl. I figure what have I got to lose.
Sainsbury's had loads of choice so I'm trying a "cheddar" and a "Halloumi". I don't drink cows milk anymore, just a splash in my tea. I will continue to eat eggs now and then. I will still eat small amounts of meat and fish and plenty of vegetables and salads. I can now manage grains once in a while and can cope better with nightshades so cutting out dairy shouldn't be too restrictive. I've already reduced the amount of dairy I eat anyway.
I'll just monitor things and see how I go. It does tend to be trial and error.0 -
Hello everyone, I'm feeling alot better and have washed my hair and done my make up today, haven't had any make up on in weeks. Going out for a meal with grandsons tonight which will be nice.
Although I have been feeling rotten I have had no digestive problems and I don't ever want to be without bromelain again. I've had a dodgy digestive system since I was a small child and not having cramps, bloating or any other issues is a complete revelation. Is this really how most people live? Just wish I had found it years ago.
So I am counting my blessings and no tummy trouble is right up there, my hair is looking much better with the Philip Kingsley stuff DD bought for me and I just need the colour to fade a bit, my cold sore has gone and the red mark is fading. Not bad for a start.
My hair needs cutting so I think I have to make an effort to find a new hairdresser. Fingers crossed I can find someone decent, a good cut makes such a difference. I normally wear my hair very short but haven't had it cut for 6 months so do I press on with working towards a longer look or do I get it all chopped off? I think it will be a spur of the moment decision when I am in the chair, that is my normal MO.
Hope all colds and lurgies are on the way out.0
