 Good to see you posting moll. be back soon!!

I think you're very brave to even consider waxing at home Wednesday. _pale_ I suppose we're all different but there are some things that I think are well worth the money like having my hair cut and highlighted for example. To be honest I'm happy with my razor so don't bother with waxing although I know it gives excellent, longer lasting results. Do you have a beautician you use regularly for anything else? :)

Now I'm getting nervous. I supposed I can just try one strip and I will know if it doesn't work.:D

I've never been to a beautician in my life. I probably said before that I'm quite a tomboy naturally.:o All this fabbing is fairly new to me.

What do you get done at yours? I know you said you get your brows done.

Brows, manicure and pedicure regularly but have often used Groupon for massages and facials. I'd like to have massages more often but there don't seem to be many beauticians advertising near me currently and full price seems an indulgence. :)

Tbh if it's your bikini line I would second getting it done in a salon, especially if you have never waxed that area before. The skin is very delicate down there - (I'm sure you dont need me to tell you that). ;).

I don't bother with sat nav either Maman. I just follow my nose and it usually serves me well. I have noticed that people who rely too heavily on satnav never get to learn their East, West, Norths and Souths and they aren't very good at map reading either. They just never seem to develop a sense of direction. Tell them that a given location such as a satellite town or suburb is on the north or south side of the city and you just get a blank look....saying it's east or west......well it may as well be on the moon.

I regard sat nav the same as calculators - useful up to a point but don't get too reliant on them.

Well I'm really pleased with my hair. He's done a great job.

About half way through he suddenly stopped and grinned and said "I know you don't I". :rotfl: I replied "it's been a long time" and he said "yes, you had dark glossy hair, now you are a silver fox". He said he had clients who paid a small fortune to get my colour.

We had a good old chinwag. I said I thought you would have retired by now......he said "Never" - "not whilst I can hold a pair of scissors". (He's 70 but doesn't look it) I knew he had had nasty fight with throat cancer several years ago so it was good to see him looking so well.

It was a lovely experience and I walked out of the salon feeling like a million dollars. For the first time in years I have a hair style which really flatters me. Worth every penny and from now on he's my guy. And really I don't have that many salon treatments these days, tending to do most of my own treatments. So from now on I shall pay that bit extra and get what I really want.

I am sooooo worth it. :rotfl:

Popped into a couple of chazzers, both selling items at £1. You wouldn't believe the bargains I scooped up. Spent £8 and picked up two jackets, 5 tops and shirts and a brand new full length black silk slip......made by a local company called David Nieper. They used to retail at £120 but I think they have been discontinued. I checked their website and could only see satin ones and they were £77.

Lucky lucky me. My first luxury lingerie purchase......lol.

    Good morning lovely ladies.

Looks like another lovely day although they did say it would be rather humid later. The penalty for living so far inland - no cooling sea breezes.

Slept like a log last night .....a full 8 hours straight. It's funny but I've noticed a definite pattern......if I'm overtired then I don't sleep, then when I have rested a bit I sleep better.

Going to walk to the library and shops this morning before it gets too hot then I can just potter about. Need to rest my knee, it's really playing up at the moment, my own fault for crawling round the floor when playing with my grandson. Walking round the city yesterday was very painful. :(. Anyway I have acupuncture on Tuesday and no granny duties next week so it should feel better soon. I'll strap it up for a bit today.

Finished the Bodyguard last night. Wow. Great series. Then I watched a programme with Giles Coren that I had recorded. "Diets to live forever" or some such title. I do like Giles, he is very funny and always up for a wacky challenge. He went to America to try some of the more extreme anti aging diets:eek: there are some seriously weird people out there.lol.

He eventually met up with a guy who is 113 and fit as a flea. His advice...... moderation is key. No extreme diets, no punishing exercise routines, no smoking, no alcohol, no meat.

I'm with Giles on this......I don't particularly want to live till I'm 113. Deduct 10 years for the occasional tipple and 10 years for being a carnivore. I will happily settle for 93, as long as I'm well and healthy. :D

    Morning all,

I would second going to a salon for bikini wax Wednesday. I tried the strips at home but it was too painful to inflict on myself! I only get a high leg and strip off the top so I just wear a thong. It takes her minutes and is a bit uncomfortable but I wouldn't really say it hurts. I think having it done properly but someone who knows what they are doing really minimises the pain. I would also exfoliate before and then each week after (wait a week though) to try and reduce I grown hair. I seem to get quite a few bumps now and I didn't before :( I bought a moisturiser to improve my chicken skin arms which says it helps ingrown hairs so I'm using that on the skin but it's got acid in so can't go in the sun. I obv wouldn't use that down there if I had more than the edges done

I went to the gym last night for the first time in ages (couldn't think of a valid excuse :o). Annoyingly they had changed the body pump class to a grit one. No way am I fit enough to do that so just went for a run and did 4K. I obviously cooled down well as my legs don't hurt but my back feels like I have been kicked! My bum muscles also hurt when I clench them :rotfl: will go again tomorrow night or a run and swim if I'm not seeing my friend :A

It really is a beautiful day today. I'm sitting with my coffee on the sofa with my living room window open and all I can smell are roses :j I have a gigantic rose bush with about 50 flowers on it outside the window and it smells gorgeous. I bought it for £5 at a car boot sale about 8 years ago and it's massive. My mum cut it down to the ground last year as I had never pruned it other than deheading it but it's come back really good :D I can remember getting back from holiday in the early hours and walking up my street and all I could smell were roses :)

My plans for today are to drive to my hometown as I have a family party tonight. I'm going to set off soon and spend the afternoon sunbathing in dads garden. Then tomorrow I'll come back in the morning and spend the afternoon in my garden. It's a shame I won't get a chance to go to the beach. We have lovely beaches here and they don't get that busy :)

  • After a difficult week I have been doing minimal fabbing. Life threw a curve ball. Doesn't it always.

The house got more fabbing than me this week. It got a massive upgrade and me covered in dust. Once it is tidied up I can relax then.

Thanks for all the tips on waxing.:)

I had such a nice time yesterday, we had an Italian meal out, then saw a film and then went to the concert at the Olympic stadium at Stratford.

I've only been to Stratford three times now and I quite like the area. I have probably mentioned that my husband and I are planning on retiring early, in five years time, and we were saying that Stratford might be one of the areas we would consider moving to.:)

It was funny on the underground we were talking about retiring in 5 years and I noticed that a man about 60 was looking at us in utter confusion. He was looking at my husband and then me. Probably thinking it was bizarre people of our age were talking about this subject. :rotfl:My husband looks definitely young for his age and I have been told I look younger as well.

I did my nails yesterday and I need to buy one of those toe separating things as I found it quite hard to do. My fingernails came out quite well. I like the red glossy nail varnish I bought and it hasn't chipped at all, so far anyway.:) I'm going to buy a couple more colours and do them both every week from now on.

I wore my older George navy dress to take our dogs to the vet yesterday and caught a couple of men looking at me. Then when I went to put on my new ASOS dress to go out I noticed that it wasn't as flattering. I think it is a little too baggy around the waist and hips.

I couldn't put the George dress back on as it covered with white dog fur!

I also caught a woman checking out my husband on the underground train!

I got him to wear his black short sleeved shirt with a dragon design on it and he looked really good. I stared at her until she looked at the floor, lol, I'm quite competitive.:D

I think I will look for some more shirts like that for him as they suit him. He does look good for his age and I find him very cute, especially compared to some of the men I saw yesterday. One guy with a massive hairy beer belly walking around with his shirt totally unbuttoned.

:rotfl::rotfl: The man with the unbuttoned shirt and the beer belly. Why do they do that, they must think they are God's gift.

You sound like a really cool cute looking couple......you could be the Posh and Becks of Stratford. :D

I used to clock other women checking out my husband too.....brazen hussies. :rotfl:

    Good morning lovey ladies.

Well I wasn't expecting rain this morning, so I think I shall have to go to Plan B. I had planned on making a start decluttering the shed but that would entail emptying most of the contents onto the lawn so I could sort through. I don't think I'll bother.

Needless to say because I spent all day yesterday working in the garden and had planned on getting filthy doing the shed I haven't washed my hair or done any fabbing. So I think I will sort myself out, do some meal prep and then later I will take myself off to the cinema......

Another lb down.....that's just 5.1/2 to go to reach my birthday mini target. July 6th so 5 weeks. Should do it I think.

I am so pleased with myself .......I can see such a difference now. A nice flat tummy, hip and collar bones, and I'm even losing that extra chin. :rotfl:

Not looking too bad for nearly 68. ;).

    Have a great day y'all.

Pleased to hear you had a good time last night Wednesday.:)

I'm amused that our fabbing efforts are now extending to fabbing up husbands too!:D My DH is quite a conservative dresser and I think he looks just fantastic when he's 'suited and booted' but he's harder work when it comes to casual clothes. I do make suggestions as to what might look good on him and he does listen (a bit) but he prefers to buy all his own clothes so that's about as far as my influence goes. :( Still, if that's all I have to complain about I can live with it.:)

:T on the continued weightloss LL. It's really motivating when you can see progress and know that you're improving your health along the way. :)

It's still bright and sunny here and I think it might stay this way until much later in the day. No real plans though. It's only about 10 days to my holiday so I should start making sure I have everything I need. I've got some ironing to do so I might do that and, at the same time, check what needs ironing in the way of holiday clothes.

Tomorrow I'm getting my hair cut so that I have a week or so to get used to blow drying it again. Friday, I'm having my eyebrows waxed and tinted. I'll leave my nails until the beginning of next week. Those toe separators are often in the pound shops Wednesday so you should be able to pick them up quite cheaply.

I'm out somewhere every day until Friday so have plenty to get fabbed up for this week. The weather looks changeable so not yet into full summer outfits. It's warm enough for skirts but not sure about bare legs and I just hate normal tights so I'm still wearing lots of jeans and leggings. :)
