That was a good haul at the CSs LL. Well done!:T
I agree that the whole shopping experience is changing and that includes more people prepared to buy second hand items. AFAIK Frankie, the only Dotty P's we have left in our city is a concession in Debenhams. I'm not sorry to see shops moving out of the main shopping mall as something needs to happen to shake up landlords charging exorbitant rents. Similarly, local councils have been so starved of cash to meet their statutory duties (like Social Services and Education) that they're charging massive business rates and parking charges which isn't helping either.
I couldn't agree more about a good bra. Even before I lost weight (and again since getting to my target weight) I went to a good independent to be properly measured and now I know my size I look regularly in TKMaxx for the right size. As well as the fit and the difference it makes to the clothes on top, I feel good wearing good underwear. I've long since given up on M&S and buy my knickers from Victoria's Secrets.
Good idea about the list silva. I need to do that soon, just over two weeks to go until my holiday. Most of my sunshine holiday clothes are stored away unironed so I need to get that done.
It's dull and warm here too. I don't plan to go out but I have quite a few tasks to do online (insurance, visas, check in etc) so hopefully I'll make some progress today.
Is your DS off to Wembley tomorrow LL?:footie:

I measured myself at home but I'm not sure that I'm wearing the right bra size. I should get myself measured too. I did get measured in M&S once but I don't think she was right! I should probably try a specific bra shop.
I really like that spotty ASOS dress. I think I will wear it to the concert next week.:)
I think the new bra I bought looks a lot better as well. I need to donate my old ones.
I've been so happy since I saw my GP. My husband said every time he looks at me I'm smiling.:rotfl: It's just such a relief after a few years of poor health.0 -
:rotfl::rotfl: We are bringing Wembley to Derby.;).
He just can't manage it this time and anyway we were already scheduled to have a BBQ here for DS2s birthday. So it's a Footie themed birthday BBQ. :rotfl: hence the trip to Sainsbobs this morning to stock up on goodies. Spent a small fortune.
BTW. going back to our talk about gift buying.....DS2 and his girlfriend are off in a couple of weeks to Ibiza to party to some famous celebrity D J (who of course I've never heard of). I am reliably informed that the drinks will be extortionate so gifts for both of them (it was her birthday recently) have been Euros in cash.
I also treated him to his favourite honey Jack Daniels whiskey seeing as it was on offer, because it's normally quite expensive. I also picked up a fab "digestive biscuits" new linen kitchen apron yesterday in the chazzer....really nice bright colours and great quality. So a nice mixture of fun and useful presents and no added clutter.I think they will go down well.
Wednesday.....good to hear you are feeling so well. You've come a long way.0 -
Hi all
Just checking in with my progress. Well I have lost weight and hope to see a new lower number in the stone section next week. The monsoon dress that I wanted to wear at Easter went on and fitted and I did t need the elastic knickers. I am still sewing and my wardrobe is looking emptier as I am not keeping clothes that are too big. My next goal is to loose another half a stone . I also would love to wear ymy engagement ring again but cant at the moment as my finger is way too fat.
I have a.so managed to buy a new pair of sandles they are by Josef siebel and very comfortable and I brought a pair of walking sandles in a shopping outlet so didn't break the bank.
Yesterday oh and I took the train to the coast had a great time and did lots of walking
I also looked in the chazzers got an organic cotton top from next in one and three tablecloths and a tray cloth that have the transfers ironed on and need to e embroidered on. A job for a winters eve..0 -
Just popping in to say that the M & S bra measurers are rubbish. My Daughter used to work in a high end lingerie shop, n had to deal with the fallout:rotfl:Pardon the pun:rotfl:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I'm fortunate that I have a small independent lingerie shop locally and a small independent department store with a good lingerie department. I've used both but John Lewis isn't bad either.0 -

I will have to try and find a specialist bra shop. I can't say that I have ever seen one around my local area.
Someone I used to work with had a breast reduction and she rated Rigby and Peller for bras.2025 GOALS

Happy Bank Holiday Lovely Ladies
Hope you all have a great day.
Not the best day for a BBQ but hey it's a bank holiday in the UK, it could be worse. :rotfl:
We will cook up a feast, pray for Derby County to win and celebrate my sons birthday.
Just going to have a nice leisurely bath and a bit of a pamper before the festivities begin.
Have fun.0 -
I've always had my measurements done at Debenhams Wednesday and I've found them to be okay.
A bit of an iffy day here weather wise but I'm just having a quiet, chilled kind of day so that works for me.
I need to at least get the weeds pulled out at the front of my house today, then a bit of batch cooking.
I went to weigh in today and I'm back where I was weight loss wise before I lost the plot a bit and just gained...!
So, I have bought a 12 week Slimming World Countdown and I'm using those 12 weeks as a kick start for other things and other areas of my life.
I love a plan/routine etc etc.
Hope you all have a lovely day0 -

You've obviously found a supplier that works for you Wednesday.Wednesday2000 wrote: »I will have to try and find a specialist bra shop. I can't say that I have ever seen one around my local area.

The independent that I used first sells luxury lingerie for weddings as well as everyday stuff. Maybe there's a similar supplier in your area.
Rigby and Peller is allegedly where royalty go for their bras. Although if you've ever noticed how top heavy Camilla can look I'm not sure she's one of them.
I did some trying on of the new dress(es) this morning and realised that I have different bras for different outfits too. There's the obvious strapless ones but I have soft tee shirt bras that are fine with most jumpers and tops but I prefer an unpadded one for under more fitted things.I love a plan/routine etc etc.
Same here Frankie. I prefer to think something through and then it's a task done IYSWIM. An obvious one is meal planning. I spend a few minutes writing a plan each week and then I don't have to think about it until the following week. It's a system I used when I was working stupid hours and it saved me so much time. I have to have a list and be organised. Thinking about what to have and what to buy daily would drive me mad.
I think your DS is being very noble LL. I don't think I could give up a trip to a Wembley final for a BBQ with family.:o I was at my BIL's birthday BBQ when this happened.

Hopefully Frank will be luckier today.:D0
