My Jack Russell hates the rain too, or baths. I just brush her and wipe her with a wet cloth as she makes me feel guilty when I bathe her.:o
I've been feeling tired today with the gloomy and wet weather. I had a nap this afternoon, cuddled up with my two little dogs.:A
I tried on the new dresses as they arrived today, one is too tight across the chest (annoyingly) but all the rest are okay.
I'm going to wear my navy spotty dress this weekend with white sandals and a red bag and red nails - toes and fingers.:)0 -
My DP delivery didn't arrive yesterday, delayed delivery.
It's now been dispatched but with a couple of items missing as they are now out of stock so I may see if I can get them in a different size..
Back to work today, but no new clothes to wear, I'm a bit disappointed.
maman when you said your dress was unbuttoned to the waist, I definitely first pictured that as from the top down. Thankfully you clarified when you mentioned your trousers. lol0 -
Good morning lovely ladies
A beautiful morning at the moment. Lovely to wake up to bright sunshine streaming through my bedroom window. Apparently it's going to be much warmer for the next few days.
I am completely free now until the end of next week - my granny services aren't required....:D. I'm looking forward to a nice break and just catching up with myself. I've got loads of laundry piling up and the garden needs my attention. I'm also hoping to make a start on decluttering the shed. Although I'm pretty sore and stiff this morning so won't go mad today.
Anyway I have got plenty to keep me amused so I shall make the most of the dry weather. There's not much that appeals on the meet up calendar at the moment - no worries. .....I'm looking forward to some quiet time and just doing my own thing.
Wednesday. Love the sound of your outfit for the weekend. Navy, white and red together is so stylish and fun. Very summery.
Have got an insulation specialist coming round this morning but after that I definitely need to go shopping, the fridge is looking very bare.
Have a great day y'all. Happy fabbing.0 -
Not very impressed with the insulation specialist.......I know more than he does.....:rotfl: and the price he was quoting......forget it!!!
Food shopping done......was very good bought extra fruit for snacking instead of chocolate. :A. Popped in a chazzer bought a sweet little shabby chic mirror for £2. And a pair of grey linen trousers £3. Sized 14 - a little snug but hopefully not for long.
To celebrate my 2 stone weight loss and making my mini target I have booked myself a hair cut tomorrow.......and not in my usual cheapo salon. The stylist there is ok but not quite up to scratch. I am never 100 percent satisfied and last time she really didn't listen to what I wanted - rather frustrating.......
I have decided ok is no longer good enough so I'm going back to my stylist from back in the days when I had more money. It will cost me double but if he's still as good as he used to be then it will be worth it. Fingers crossed he still has the knack.0 -
Just popping in to say i havent emigrated , i jump on here as often as i can , but had a lot going on just lately , I love to catch up though on what everyone is doing , and hopefully ill be back full swing very soon xxx
Just didnt want you to think id left the fold x
Saw John Wick 3 yesterday ,,im another one who had a crush on Keano Reeves, Hes such a lovely man in real life too isnt he0 -
Good morning lovely ladies
Good to see you Moll. I was wondering how you were doing. Just hang in there and do what you can when you can.
As the great poet Ronan Keating said......:rotfl: "Life is a roller coaster".
Whenever I feel lost or overwhelmed I repeat the mantra "This too will pass". And it's true, even the bad stuff goes away in the end. The world turns and the pendulum swings.
Oh lord so many cliches this morning, :rotfl: but the thing about cliches is they become cliches because they are based on truisms.
Just keep on keeping on and eventually life improves.
Glad you enjoyed the film. I've not seen any of the John Wicke series, must give them a whirl. Yes I can see the attraction of Keanu. He's very handsome and has aged very well. He can look like a tramp at times but he still scrubs up well.
And, if all the stories are true, then he is indeed a lovely, kind and very generous man. Apparently he's had a lot of sorrow in his life too but has managed to work through it. He seems to handle both fame and extraordinary wealth very well, always gracious and dignified. He could certainly teach some of the more bratty entitled celebs a few lessons.
Well I've lost another lb and, more importantly, those blood sugar readings are improving. Slow but sure I'm getting there.
Used the retinol again last night, that's twice this week with no adverse effects. Off to get my haircut this afternoon. Going into the city centre so I'll have a nice mooch and maybe a bite to eat.
Had a nice rest yesterday. I actually got round to watching "The Bodyguard" last night (the TV series). Loved it. So I shall finish that tonight.
So nice to have several days now with nothing planned. I am just going to potter about and catch up with myself, a few jobs round the house, lots of laundry which has piled up, some gardening and a bit more decluttering, take myself off to the cinema to see Rocketman at some point. The meet up groups have posted up some interesting upcoming events too.
All is good. Lots in the pipeline. Christening on the 9th. Now that I've lost weight I have got lots of lovely outfits Hanging in my wardrobe to choose from. I'll decide nearer the time.
Quiet on here......hope you are all well.

What do ladies on here do about waxing at home? I haven't ever tried it and I feel a bit self conscious to go to a salon.:o
I've also heard good things about Keanu Reeves, my husband went to see JW3 the other day. I haven't seen any of them, I know there is a bit in the first film that I wouldn't want to see.:(
I am going to exfoliate, tidy up my eyebrows, do a pore strip, shave my legs and have a hot bath with body lotion this morning.2025 GOALS

Depends what bits you want waxing........
As you know I am a trained therapist and therefore can do most of my own treatments but when it comes to waxing some are much easier done in the salon. The therapist can get you and herself in a better position in order to make the procedure as painless as possible, especially very delicate areas. Also you can help the therapist by helping to pull your skin taut. 3 or 4 hands are better than 2. Lol.
Whilst I understand your shyness I assure you the therapist has seen it all before. All shapes and sizes, all hair textures, varying levels of hirsuitness.
When I was training a young girl came into the college for one of our cheapo offers. I don't know whether she had hormone issues but I have never seen such coarse and prolific body hair. She wanted everywhere waxing. I tried to do my best for her but as a novice I was pretty much overwhelmed. I was almost in tears. The teacher noticed my distress and came and helped me. It took the two of us over an hour. The poor girl must have been so uncomfortable.
A little tip to reduce pain and discomfort when waxing. Take a couple of paracetamol about 20 to 30 minutes before you begin. I also do the same when I see the hygienist. I find a scale and polish very uncomfortable and paracetamol does take the edge off.0 -

It would probably be okay once I'm in there. I just had acupuncture half naked with a man so I don't know why I'm shy about waxing.:p
It is my bikini area I would want done. I just shave my legs every other day. I'm fair haired and not that hairy so that is why I've never bothered to try wax.
I think when I used to go swimming I used to use cream to remove the hair. I do have some waxing strips at home. Was thinking of getting my husband involved.:rotfl:
If that isn't any good I will probably go to a salon.2025 GOALS

 Good to see you posting moll. be back soon!!
I think you're very brave to even consider waxing at home Wednesday. _pale_ I suppose we're all different but there are some things that I think are well worth the money like having my hair cut and highlighted for example. To be honest I'm happy with my razor so don't bother with waxing although I know it gives excellent, longer lasting results. Do you have a beautician you use regularly for anything else?
Well yesterday was fun and games. Never trust a Sat Nav!! I went up to London to help my DGD1 move out of her student house. I set the Sat Nav and it decided to take me right through central London. I even drove past the Oval at mid morning just as the cricket World Cup was starting!! On the way back I had to trick it by telling it I wanted to go somewhere in the middle of the M25 so it would take me round the city rather than through.
I have a good sense of direction and rarely use the Sat Nav . I think I'll go back to planning my own route in future and just using it for the last few miles when I don't know the area. What an adventure!:D
It was warm but not super sunny yesterday and it's much the same today. I wore my navy leggings with the William Morris print tunic yesterday as it was comfortable for all the driving. I'm relaxing today but I do need to do my meal plan and a food shop. I need to start thinking well ahead as I want to run down the fridge before my holiday. So I'm going to be very mse:money: and make sure I plan around what's already in to be sure nothing gets wasted.0
