    Good morning lovely ladies.

Candy. I know the 1 hour mantra doesn't give the same dramatic results as the MK approach but it works.....you do get there in the end.

You are doing so well, decluttering, weight loss, getting the builders quotes in......it all takes time. And you are still grieving your beloved Zeus too. Give yourself a big pat on the back.

It's a bit like my "can you eat an elephant".......

I genuinely think we humans can do just about anything if we put our mind to it but sometimes progress might have to be a bit slower than we would like. Patience doesn't always come easily but sometimes we have to take the long view. One step at a time.

I started this thread years ago. I never thought for one moment that it would take me so long to get my life back on track. There were so many set backs, so many blind alleys, but somehow I managed to just keep trudging along and here I am .......

    ALMOST FABULOUS :rotfl:

And the icing on the cake.......I am now finally losing weight. :D. Another half lb this morning. Ok not particularly exciting or dramatic but another tiny step nearer to my goal.

Looks like a another nice day. Going to get dolled up and go out later. My neighbour has a surprise treat planned.....no idea where we are going but it involves lunch apparently.

    Intriguing.....;)

I can't remember the last time I left my GP feeling so positive.:D

Apart from a slight folic acid deficiency, everything is back to normal range. No diabetes risk, good B12 levels, good iron levels and normal cholesterol.

My thyroid is back into the normal range already as well. No wonder as I have been feeling less tired since being on the tablets.:T

My new clothes arrived while I was out and I'm about to try them on.

Pleased for you hope the clothes are fab

    Thanks guys!:A xxx

Everything fits. The ASOS clothes aren't the best quality but they were okay for the price.

I'm going to wear my new short navy blue and white dotty dress today with leggings and try and break in my new faux snake skin sandals as well.

I just used a peel pad on my face and I am about to have a hot shower and a hair treatment.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    Wednesday - great news!
LL - Like you I'm a great believer in every little helps. Something is better than nothing, do hope your knee has improved with some rest.
Went to London yesterday with DH and DS1 to meet a relative for a few hours who was on a flying visit. As we went by train I decided to go casual with skinny jeans and sneakers a nice blue and white striped tee and my candy pink jean jacket. Pleased with the look. Had a nice meal in an Italian restaurant in the Haymarket didn't get home until about 1am - lots of walking so we were tired & didn't surface this morning until about 9.30
Going to give my face mask another go today ;)

Just tried on one of my new shocking pink jackets, the lightweight cotton one. If I say so myself it looks fab, and really goes well with my white hair. Great bargain for £2. I'll wear it today.

I also bought a Chanel looky-likie jacket, also bright pink, also £2 but that's a bit small yet.

Ooh I do love a chazzer shop bargain.

I have a sneaky suspicion that's where we heading today.....a different town which is packed full of chazzers, antique and Bric and brac shops and I believe there's a good architectural salvage yard...

Will it be safe to take my credit card......:rotfl:

Silva your day out in the big smoke sounds fab. There are times when I wished I lived a bit closer but I could never afford a property anything like this one. And I do love my new house. It's a money pit but it's starting to take shape now.

    Thread sounds really positive today.:D

I wasn't in the mood for trying on/decision making last night so wore my favourite Zara shirt maxi dress to the theatre as it always makes me feel good. The play was interesting. I was amazed at how the male actor played so many PMs. He was excellent and also a woman actor who did a cameo Mrs Thatcher. The playwright deduced that to date, Harold Wilson was the Queen's favourite. Not sure if that's evidenced anywhere but apparently he's the only one where she's accepted an invitation for dinner at No10.

I'm taking advantage of the Sainsbury's birthday offer too humpty. It's particularly good as they have the 25% off wine at the same time. I have a Sainsbury's just over a mile away so it's no problem calling in more than once for the extra Nectar points. I'll go this afternoon for a few more bits.:)

I got the 10p off fuel voucher too which will be useful. I'm driving up to London on Thursday to help DGD1 move her stuff out of her student house.

Another lovely day here. I'm loving the sound of the pink jackets but not sure it's cold enough for a jacket here today.:D

Sounds like we're all bringing out our inner 'Pink Ladies' ;)

Just doing my list for holiday to make sure I don't forget anything although if I do I can always buy it out there. I think I'll start packing tomorrow and maybe have a good look at my clothing collection to see what I can cull at the same time.
Maman - well done on taking advantage of the Sainsbugs offers. I'm one of those who puts the voucher in her purse and by the time I remember it its out of date lol.

I went for my shopping trip yesterday :)

I headed into town and it's been so long since I've been in there that all the shops I was looking for had either moved or gone.

The Simply Be shop has gone entirely and DP had moved out onto the high street, and it was a real mess and I couldn't find anything!

So, I bought myself a couple of bras from Debenhams (how amazing does a properly fitted bra feel? It's like I haven't got one on!) They are a 'balcony' fit and give me a much nicer shape than my previous bras that gave me a bit of an 'old lady' bust (no offence)

Came home via Asda and picked up a couple of blouses and then when I got home went onto the DP website and have spent a fortune. I don't imagine I'll be happy with everything so there will be items that get returned but on the whole a successful day I think.

My delivery arrives on Wednesday and I have the day off so I'll be trying things on all day I think :)

    Good morning lovely ladies

Interesting shopping trip Frankie. Our city and large town centre high streets are such a mish mash at the moment aren't they. So sad to see so many failed businesses.....However I do think the way people shop has changed and I think the high streets have to change too. It will be interesting to see how they evolve. I think the big chains and multiples have had their day.

One good model would be to see square footage given over purely to shopping decrease, allowing more mixed usage. So a blend of smaller indies, maybe local start ups, artisanal type of businesses, offices, eateries and private dwellings.

I think There is definitely an argument for more private housing nearer to places of work to reduce commuting and road congestion. There are a lot of new build housing developments in our city in the pipeline. If we want people off the roads to reduce emissions and pollution then I think Governments and town and city planners have to rethink how we will live in the future and that means changing the infrastructure to accommodate changing needs and "greening up".

I went to one of our satellite towns yesterday. I hadn't been for years and it had changed so much, actually for the better. I have found several of our satellite towns, those within about a 10 to 15 mile radius of the city and which were previously floundering, have really improved over the last few years. I wonder if people have gravitated to them instead of big city centre shopping.....easier parking for a start and more independent shops. And a big pull I think, proper markets.

Lunch was a lovely Moroccan restaurant and I picked up some amazing bargains from the chazzers. A beautiful cream linen skirt suit, a bright pink linen maxi dress, a dark grey suede jacket, a black and white swirly maxi skirt, and a black top. £18 the lot. Had a really nice day out although we didn't make it to the architectural salvage yard. All in all it was a lovely day and a thoroughly enjoyable shopping experience. I will definitely go back again.

Bit dull and overcast here but still warm. Need to go food shopping, other than that nothing planned. Nothing spoiling so a nice gentle day.

I agree, that I would also like to see more independent shops rather than chains..

So many of the shops were 'cheapy' shops. The everything for £7 type.

They don't allow those in Australia, so the shopping experience is quite a pleasant one, though probably more expensive than here, but the clothing is pretty good quality so worth the extra I think.

It's grey and overcast here too (though I think we are pretty close geographically) but I'll be heading out to Aldi soon to get the weekly shop in and then a cheeky trip to the cinema to see John Wicke 3 (I've had an ongoing crush on Keanu Reeves since I was about 16 and saw him in Point Break. lol)
