Nutritionists aren't the same as dieticians are they? Dieticians are registered health care professionals but I think anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. I have a friend, well more of an acquaintance, and she explained it to me, she is a dietician and works in the NHS and hates being confused with a nutritionist.

I'm trying to decide what to do about buying a house near my DD. I have two rental properties and was going to sell both and invest what was left over, selling one wouldn't really buy me a house where she lives. I'm thinking of selling one and getting a small mortgage, I have a small mortgage on the 2nd house but the rent would pay both mortgages. I can't decide which way to go, on the one hand I like the idea of not having to worry about a rental property but it would potentially be a good investment. I might have to see a mortgage broker to see what I could borrow, I'm thinking about £40k so not sure how they view that for pensioners.

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend. We have had a duvet day as the weather hasn’t been very nice, but have been visiting family over the weekend, so have had a nice mix of activitivies. Plus,it’s a short work week because of the bank holiday.

I had a bit of nice gift recently. My mum gave me an unwanted credit note and I bought two pairs of shoes with the money. It really reignited my interest in shoes, as shoes haven’t been high on my list in recent years.

Work is busy, but enjoyable. I’m ‘up north’ tomorrow for a meeting. I recently attended a course on mental health in the workplace and we went through ‘5 ways to wellbeing’, which is on the Mind website. I wanted to share them with you all, as a reminder that fabbing isn’t just about the physical....

Connect this is about having social connections with people around you, or even making some new connections.

Be active not just exercise as there are lots of ways to keep active.

Keep learning find something you enjoy and learn more.

Help others this is about ‘giving back’.

take notice this is about being happy with what is around you.

Anyway, I’m going to post my selling activities in a separate post.

    Hello Ladies,

Maman I have to wait and see if I have any of my weight allowance in my suitcase or my hand luggage to see if I can pack any paperback books. ;)

Great post Chanie, thank you for sharing it with us all :D

I went Karaoke last night and my sister H, my niece M and her partner B all met me there. We all had a really fun night. :D

I went and had dinner at my niece M's home today. The food was cooked by her mum who is my sister H. I had a really delicious meal.:D

I have decided to stop doing WW and just eat intuitively. It is just not working for me as I think it is making me fixate on food too much.

I was 16 stone two years ago and now am almost 12 stone, but the last half stone has been torture to get off and I think I was doing better when I wasn't concentrating so much on what I eat!

I'm just going to eat when I am genuinely hungry from now on.

I am going to carry on with the high impact exercise as I have really seen results in my body shape with that.

I got up early in case my new necklaces arrived today, but because of the bank holiday I think it will be later in the week.:A

    Good morning lovely ladies

Granny duty today.:D. I'm tired this morning, so I'll be shattered by this evening.:rotfl: still, it will be fun.

Wednesday - i know what you mean, in the past joining a slimming club made me focus on food too much. I think it's easy to become obsessed. Oddly enough this time that has not happened. I am actually very relaxed about it all this time round.

I think if you are not happy with it then it's a good idea to take a step back. There's no point making yourself feel miserable. Good luck.

BtW. Well done on losing 4 stones. That's a great achievement. I don't know how tall you are.....But I wouldn't class 12 stone as being hugely overweight, unless of course you were tiny.

I'm 5ft 7 and now weigh 11st 10lb. I look and feel absolutely fine. If I didnt lose anymore I would be perfectly happy with my current weight. As you say your exercise is helping you lose inches, so maybe your weight is actually about right for you.

Actually I have a tummy upset this morning. Bit of an IBS thing going on. :rotfl: it's growling away, not happy at all. I had a Chocolate cheese cake type thing for pudding last night. It was delicious but I think it was just too rich. I really don't fancy breakfast yet, so I'll just give my digestive system a rest.

I could do with not being on granny duty today but I won't let my DIL down. I'll manage. It's perfectly safe, it won't pass on to the baby, not like a stomach bug.

    Right better get cracking.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Good morning to everyone!
I made a great start to the new 2019 me today. Ate 2 chocolate digestives. :D
I will weigh myself later. I'm not looking forward to it. The good thing is joining in here has made me pause and plan tonight's meal around calories.
I'm not up to exercising yet, but hopefully housework will burn off a few calories.
Have a good day everyone, and hopefully I can sort out an eating plan for myself.
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

It's been hard for you Wednesday trying to lose weight and having the thyroid issue diagnosed at the same time. Maybe it'll be easier when your medication is stabilised. :)

I did go back and listen again to that nutritionist and I looked her up. She seems to be into mindful eating too but it bothered me a bit that she referred to something called a 'set point weight' which is a theory that there's a weight that our bodies are happy with regardless of how heavy that is. This came on the back of a previous programme I didn't hear which was about a comedian who is in the fat and happy camp. It's not a theory I can go along with 100%. Surely excess food and junk food comes into the equation somewhere?

Like you, I'm not obsessed with food either LL. It could be because I was already a meal planner before I joined SW:money:. When I was working, I found it saved me time to write a plan and shopping list for about 10 minutes once a week and then I didn't need to have a daily dither about what are we going to eat tonight or stop off at shops on the way home for bits and pieces. I still do exactly the same except that now my plan is for all healthy food:D. I only plan dinners and buy in ingredients for other meals. I don't think that's very different from what all the people on OS do or anyone that's organised.

It's bright and dry here but still not that warm. Dancing tonight. I put away my thickest, winter skirts but I'll be wearing one of the longer summer ones tonight.:)

I did well yesterday and got all the ironing done so I have loads of summer skirts hanging up ready for some sunshine!

I finished my library book. It took a bit of effort as I really wasn't impressed with the main characters. There are three more in the series but I won't be returning to them in a hurry. I'll take the book back later and then I need to start trawling the CSs for paperbacks for my holiday. I do hope you find some room for books sugarbaby. I find that summer clothes aren't that heavy so I usually have room. I always buy cheap books so I can leave them behind at the hotel. :)

    Hello Ladies,

Maman you are right. I got my luggage scales from eBay this morning, so I weighed my packed suitcase and my packed hand luggage holdall and they are both way under the maximum weight allowance. :D

Now, I have to decide what books to take with me from the 100 plus new books I currently own which are waiting for me to read them. I will not bother to bring any of them back, as I bought all of my books from local Poundland shops. :j:D

The necklaces didn't arrive yet. I'm tired now as well as I woke up super early.:rotfl:

I am going to have a pamper session tonight, bubble bath, pore strip, face scrub, face pack, shave legs and body lotion.

Yes, hopefully.:) I have only been on them a month now so maybe it takes a while for the thyroid to get back to normal, no idea really. The GP wasn't particularly helpful!

Shame about the GP. I suppose they can't know for sure but it's irritating when they're not interested. I have 2 SILs with under active thyroids who are successfully managing it with medication. Interestingly, one always blamed it (after medication) for being overweight. I tactfully didn't remind her that the biscuits or croissants she had for breakfasts probably weren't helping. Eventually she joined SW and lost the weight. :)

I went out to return my library book and then forgot to take it with me. No matter, I can do it later in the week. I picked up half a dozen paperbacks for my holiday in the CS and also a nice maxi dress. It's only Dotty P's but I liked it. It's a halter neck in a peacock feather print in the typical jewel colours so it'll look good with a tan. Even if I wear it 2 or 3 times over the holiday it'll have be well worth the money (£6).:)
