  • Thanks very much for all your pamper box suggestions. I have got everything together now and just need to package at weekend. I am using a nice cardboard box- think large shoebox- without lid and will lie items on shredded paper with top layer of cream shredded tissue paper. Then cover with cellophane and gather with thin ribbon or do it flat and stick on cream bow. Am not sure how it will turn out yet!
  • Maman I've never asked a doctor about it, I've been the same for at least 55 years so just accept it is me.

So on edge, had my ECG and told it wasn't normal but a doctor would have to read the results and I would hopefully get a phone call this afternoon. Nothing yet, I suppose if it was really serious they might have called? I just want to know. I won't get the blood results till Friday. It is making me feel very stressed.
  • These are items:

Rose shower gel 2.50 body shop last sale
Coconut hair, face and foot masks/socks 2.80 bodycare
Nail polish raspberry shade 0.99 bodycare
    Will put these in centre.
    Scone mix 0.70 asda
    Strawberry jam 0.30 aldi
    Will put these on left.
Two puzzle books 1.75 the works
Peppermint aero and sherbert dip 0.55 wilko
    Will put these on right.

:( That is not very bloody helpful of them!

Can you try and have a hot bath to try to relax or watch a TV show to distract you? I usually have to do something like that if I'm very stressed.xx

  • Sorry, haven’t been reading thread but i think it is fairly standard practice for drs rather than receptionists to explain some results. I’ve come across it with urine infections and my friend had it following gastro intestinal tests. That made us anxious but Neither were serious so try not to worry too much if you can.
  • He just rang at the end of his appointments. Apparently it isn't normal but he isn't worried, he says he will know more when he gets the blood test results. So far so good then.
  • I'm 48 next month and want to be fab by 50.
My momenta of realising I'd become a frump were when my mam who was in her late 70s bought the same asda beige slacks I had and the day I was doing the walking stick shopping trolley combo following an old woman doing the same combo ... I quickly said to my daughter quick take the shopping trolley as I'm doing the double combo !
I gave up on style for comfort years ago too.

    Good morning lovely ladies

Hello to Ladybirdbaba....just going to call you Ladybird if that's ok. Welcome to the thread.......don't despair. You have come to the right place. Stay focussed and positive and you will soon start to turn things round.

As for combining style and comfort - well luckily you can definitely combine the two:rotfl: TBH I think there's nothing stylish about shoes that cripple you or bras that dig into your flesh, or having to keep tugging at clothes or be constantly fiddling with them and adjusting them.

My own mantra is that I want to look stylish and elegant yes of course I do, but I don't want to be constantly fretting over my clothes or feeling self conscious. I want to get dressed and get on with my day.

But I think most of us on here would agree - a good start is to ditch the beige!! :rotfl: who wants to be invisible. :rotfl: Some lucky people look fabulous in shades of caramel. It can look very classy and luxurious, especially a really nice camel wool coat but most beiges can be very bland. I think a lot depends on both the fabrics used and on your colouring.

Off out in a bit, DIY sheds. Need to buy some skirting board and will look for plants, although I prefer Aldi for plants, much cheaper.

Will probably pop in one of my favourite chazzers and see if they have any amazing size 12s and 14s bargains. :rotfl: won't be long now, I am already getting into size some 14s with comfort.

Mind I pay no attention to size labels anyway - if it fits then it's my size.

Need to top up with fruit and veg today. I am still doing well, eating around 8 to 10 portions, mainly veg and salad and just a little fruit. My skin certainly seems happy with that. I can see a big improvement.

I splashed out yesterday, bought some Vit C serum and some retinol based serum which is supposed to be formulated for sensitive skin. I have done a patch test as recommended for the retinol and there doesn't appear to be an allergic reaction so I'll start that tonight.

I also bought the Pinch of Nom cookbook to see if I can add to my repertoire of healthy foods. It's had a lot of publicity and praise, I must admit it lives up to the hype. Some fabulous recipes in there. Even puddings which I tend not to bother with but they would be nice for entertaining.

Just 7lbs to go to reach my mini target for the christening in 7 weeks time.

    Onwards and downwards.

Ladybird - welcome to the thread. Lots of support, help and advice on here - there's no need to be stylish and uncomfortable. We just 'tweak' with a pop of colour or a slightly different style or add an accessory - scarf or jewellery to make a difference. It's amazing how it can lift your mood too. Some of us are changing our diets to improve our health and wellbeing so do join in and post.
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    Hello Ladies,

I am delighted to start the day saying that I have lost 2lbs this week and 3 inches. :j

It is only 3 weeks before I go on holiday to Jamaica with my sister H and my sister R. I feel really excited at the prospect of all the lovely experiences and adventures ahead of me. :j:D

I am going to have to do a practise run on packing my suitcase as I have to decide what to pack and make sure it is within the weight allowance. ;)

I got back to doing my exercises today and it was hard work after 6 days of not doing my daily exercises but certainly worth all of the effort. :D
