I have to admit it is a good feeling to get back to normal today. Although I've been back at home over the weekend, I haven't properly returned to my healthy eating (or more correctly drinking:o) but it all changes today.

Wednesday, which arm exercises are you doing? My arms are slim enough but they could be a bit firmer so any ideas are welcome.:)

You're right LL. It's about choosing the right outfits for the right occasion. The jumpsuit was far more youthful than many of the cocktail/ball dresses that would have looked more at home at a Masonic Ladies' Night of the 1970s.:(

Not sure what sort of shoes you're looking for LL but I've been wearing a lot of cheapo Skechers fakes from Shoe Zone for everyday casual wear. I tried a pair as I was desperate to find something that would fit the insoles my podiatrist recommended and now I notice similar styles are everywhere.

    I've been wearing these:

    https://www.shoezone.com/Products/Lilley-Womens-Casual-Slip-On-Pump-in-Black-12004?stresults=black|lilley|slip|on

    But having seen these:

    https://www.russellandbromley.co.uk/stretchout/105015

    https://www.skechers.com/en-gb/style/15600/skechers-gowalk-joy/bkw

I'm going to buy a pair like this:

    https://www.shoezone.com/Products/Lilley-Womens-Black-White-Slip-On-Casual-Shoe-12539?stresults=black|with|white|soles

As they're so cheap, the insoles are just put in with a dab of glue so I can remove them and put in the orthotics instead. It's crazy as the insoles cost way more than the shoes!!

I'm off into the city centre shortly (been putting it off until the school holidays ended). I've decided that the (shapeless) playsuit is going back and also the bikini as I really don't need a 5th one. I'll be happy with those I have unless I see one I really love or sparks joy as MK would say.:D

I've put my new loose trousers (black and pink paisley) on today with a black Boden tee shirt as it's still warm and sunny here. So I'll be comfortable and a little bit glamorous in my shades!

    Have a good day all.:)

Maman - I had to look up the correct terms.

I put my arms out to the side or above my head while I'm bouncing on the trampoline so they get warmed up and then do:

Lateral Raise (aka Side Raise) and then Bicep Curls.

3 sets of 8 for each.

I then do press ups, but only the ones where you are on bended knee as I cannot do the normal way.

The scale hasn't budged but my bra was on the loosest band at the back and now I have to put it on the tightest band fitting so it has made a difference already.

Thanks for the shoe details Maman.....

As a matter of fact I did go to Shoe Zone after I'd got no joy at Debenhams. I bought two pairs of casual slip ons, one beige, one black. They will take my orthotic inserts, and a pair of sandals. I also have a couple of canvas type shoes from last year which I can press into service. I also picked up a pair of navy canvas deck shoes from Aldi. They should serve for casual knocking about wear over the summer.

But I really wanted to try something more dressy, with heels. I particularly wanted a pearl grey kind of colour for the christening if I decide to wear my new pale grey dress. I do have some nude shoes I can wear with just about anything so they will be fine if can't find anything else. I can wear those with my lilac dress or my coffee coloured one.

I have ordered some Van Dal shoes from eBay (copying SUgarbaby). :rotfl: apparently their standard size is a D fitting so I thought I'd give them a try.

I used to wear Van Dal back in the day so I should be ok, but I'm funny about shoes. I really prefer try them on before I buy them so,have never bought any online before. I guess there's a first time for everything.:D

I'm hoping that as I lose weight my feet will also slim down again......

I have the WW app and I love looking at the before and after pictures. I notice a lot of people have slimmer feet after they have lost weight. They also seem to have bigger eyes too when they lose weight from their faces.

There are some unbelievable transformations, very inspirational.

My weight has stayed the same this week. I don't mind. I measured my waist this morning and I have lost 2 inches. Very gratifying because, apart from anything else, carrying weight around the middle can pose health risks. The other good news is my blood sugars are now safely back in the pre diabetic range. Just need to keep going.

I have to admit, that quite apart from all the health benefits of my weight loss, I am really loving being able to experiment with my clothes again. I have dropped a good dress size already and am now wearing some of my nice things that have been languishing in my wardrobe for several years. It's a great feeling.

    Onwards and downwards......:D[/QUOTE]

Well done LL youre doing brill
  • Maman I bought some very similar shoes in Sainsbury's, I think they were £14 beet I got them with the 25% off so very reasonable.

LL I was wondering how you know about your blood sugars. Does the doctor give you something to test it? I know my blood sugar drops alarmingly at times but have never had any way of testing it.

I was just saying this on the WW thread and I thought I would brag here too.:D

Since I have lost the last stone I have lost 3 inches from my bust, 4 inches from my hips and 4 and a half inches from my waist.

I said on here about looking at that Dorothy Perkins trench coat and my bust was a size 20 and my hips were size 14 and I didn't realise that I was so out of proportion. That wasn't that long ago I was saying that on here, if anyone remembers my ramblings.:p

Now my bust is a size 18 and I'm almost a size 12 hip.:T It must be the exercising toning me up. I'm surprised how quickly the inches are coming off!

I do feel more confident generally. I went out wearing just my sleeveless navy dress with black leggings and no cardigan or anything.

The man in the shop who has served me many times (without talking or smiling at me) was being super flirty with me the other day as well.;)

Oh, I didn't click on the link earlier, I have some like that too. I did buy some Skechers but found they wore out quite quickly so I just bought a cheaper knock off and they have lasted well.

Humpty I have a glucose testing kit. Made by a company called Easilife. Very simple and easy to use.

Most chemists stock them. I have just checked on Amazon and they start from £7.99.

You boast all you like Wednesday. Delighted for you!:T

Thanks for the tips for the exercises. I looked them up on eBay and having seen how muscular the trainers were I might not bother! Maybe I prefer my arms thin.;):rotfl:
    Do you have hand weights?

I sometimes do 'fake' press-ups against the work surface but I need to be more consistent.

I returned the things to Peacocks but managed to come back with more things.:o

£5 for a black, thermal layer which will be useful for football.

Then I picked up these in Asda:

    https://direct.asda.com/george/women/trousers/white-polka-dot-print-culottes/GEM648265,default,pd.html?cgid=D1M1G20C8

I tried them on quickly in the shop and they looked nice on so I'll try again at home and see whether I really love them.:)

Have read a bit more of my book this afternoon. That's another job for the next few weeks is to buy some books from the CS for my holiday so that I can leave them behind after I've read them.

    Thanks.:A

I have some dumbbells, I got them ages ago so I can't remember where they were from. They are pink so I assume the right weight for women to use.

:money:I have read you can use two cans of baked beans instead.
