SDW - Lurve the sneakers - especially the zip. They may have been a tad expensive but you can justify them by cost per wear ;)
I'm a big fan of navy teamed with a variety of other colours - whatever the pundits may say it never goes out of fashion.
LL - release your inner Rock Chick! I'm a sucker for a nice jacket & probably have too many but I cant part with them....yet!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    Good afternoon lovely ladies.....

Finally got round to giving myself a face peel this morning. That's the third one and I can really see a difference now......not quite 10 years younger but certainly more "radiant".

I also have upped my fruit and veg, i now eat between 8 and 10 portions a day. I think that is helping my skin too and of course less central heating on the warmer days.

Have started on a major declutter and spring clean, did a tip run this morning finally getting rid of a chest of drawers that had seen better days. (It had been renovated several times but a couple of the drawers had finally given up the fight). My bedroom looks a lot more spacious without it.

I'm loving my new minimalist approach to home decor......well I call it "cosy minimalist luxury" .......sort of English country house meets boutique hotel chic. Aiming for comfort and style, and definitely no clutter or twee ornaments.

    Shoes.......nightmare. :rotfl:

Me too I love jackets. Nah, don't part with them, a girl can never have too many jackets. I don't have nearly enough :rotfl:

now that I'm losing weight I am going to ditch most of my cardigans.....just keep my "at home ones" for warmth when I need it, but when I go out it will be jackets all the way.

    Hello Ladies,

With regards to shoes and sandals, I never have to settle for frumpy or unattractive shoes or sandals as I am a complete advocate of Van Dal shoes and sandals.

They fit me really well, so that I can take a new pair out of the box and wear them right away with no issues. :j

As my Arthritis causes me some joint issues at times, my latest Van Dal shoes and sandals have lower heels than I used to wear, but are still really elegant and glamorous. :D

I am going to spend a few days with 3 of my sisters in Birmingham next week and weather permitting I will be taking new clothes, and at least 2 pairs of new Van Dal Sandals with me.

In 5 weeks I will be going on holiday and it will be exciting packing my suitcase with items of clothing that will flatter my changing shape and which are all colours of the rainbow with some white items thrown in.

Even daily exercise is not going to change my body enough for me to wear my existing size 14 swimming costumes, so I will buy new larger sizes 2 weeks before my departure date and that should ensure they fit me really well when I am on holiday.
  • I'd never heard of Van Dals sugarbaby. I had a look an some of them look quite nice. I liked these http://www.vandalshoes.com/occasion-wear/burnham-tan-suede.html#.XK-P19hum00

These would suit me if the heel was just a bit higher, I'm in ankle boots all winter as I find them really comfortable and practical http://www.vandalshoes.com/all-clearance/jarratt-black-suede.html#.XK-Qcdhum00

I've got some really high court shoes for DDs wedding, I'll probably be hobbling by midnight . They are navy suede and they do look really nice, shame you're supposed to walk in them.:rotfl:
  • I forgot to say I've finished the shawl for DD, I hope she likes it.

I'm sure she'll love it. It's not taken you that long really for such a big job. Well done. :T

The last wedding I went to, loads of women (myself included) had spare shoes with them as a rest from their heels later in the day. Ballet pumps seemed the most popular or jewelled flip flops.:)
Finally, my tortoise is named Theresa after Mrs May (cue comments about slowness of action !) :)

I could have great fun with that like being asleep for the last three years:D. I suspect though she'd approve of 'Slow and steady wins the race.' as she's still hoping that 'her' deal gets over the line eventually.

What sugarbaby didn't mention is that she not only buys her Van Dal brand of choice but is very mse with it as many of them come from eBay. :T You should be fine finding swimsuits for your holiday sugar, the shops are getting loads in stock right now which is how I found one yesterday.

I looked up you jacket on the Asda George site LL. Very glamorous! I noticed (after what I'd posted yesterday) that they had both a denim and a faux suede biker jacket in pale pink. I still have a number of jackets which I rarely wear but I do have a pink cord one. I've long associated it with Fantastic Mr Fox as I think my DGD has worn it more often as fancy dress than I think I've worn it myself!:rotfl:I must get it out and wear it.

Heard another discussion on the radio about pre-owned/recycled/reused clothing today. It's becoming more and more popular with all ages. That's not just second hand but includes made from remnants, restyled etc.

Absolutely glorious day again here. We've been out for our weekly walking group followed by coffee in the sunshine. Delightful. :)

I am an avid fan at the moment of finding things on eBay, I was looking for some day dresses and found one with all of the tags still on for £5, and another pre-owned but in amazing condition for £5 too, I am going to try them on tonight now that I have washed and ironed the pre-owned one :)
  • maman I was thinking of some ballet slippers, you can get them in all colours and they fold up so can put them in my bag. I think it might be a good idea. DD hasn't been bridezilla at all but as it is only a few weeks away she is starting to sound a bit stressed. I never did the big white wedding so missed out on all that, we invited people (8 of them) on the Monday and married on the Saturday followed by a nice lunch in a local restaurant and then to the house we'd bought. I can't say I feel like I missed out, I can't see the point in favours and why do chairs need covers, what is wrong with a chair looking like a chair? I obviously don't have the "bride" gene but I have tried to join in with it all while thinking, "How much!"

I ordered some new sunscreen as I was thinking I have had my hemp Yaoh sunscreen for ages so I wonder if it even works anymore! I will just use that up as body lotion.

I noticed I am getting a little red on my chest. Probably from all the walks outside I have been doing over the past few months. I got a Green People sunscreen as I have read that got good reviews.

I have got a concert next week so I need to pick out an outfit to wear. I'm not sure whether to buy something new or just look through my wardrobe. It's a rock concert so I don't need to be too dressed up.

Finally, my tortoise is named Theresa after Mrs May (cue comments about slowness of action !) :)

I used the facial peel pads for the second time today and this time I did notice a difference. It looked like my face was tightening up when I used it. Brilliant.
