I've been off the fabbing, no excuse, though obviously I've made about a dozen to myself...sigh..

Back on things today and I'm off to get my eye brows waxed this morning. Fingers crossed, they leave me with some!

    Good Morning Lovely Ladies

That's the ticket, Frankie.....just get back on the wagon.

Whenever I fail at anything I just channel my inner Scarlett O'Hara. "Tomorrow is another day". ;).

It's not a race, there's no finishing line, it's for life. Showing up and being the best you can be each and every day. It's not the end of the world if you slip up now and again. One day won't do any lasting harm. Just don't let the one day become one week or one month or God forbid one year. Because one year becomes another year or a decade and before you know where you are it's Frumpsville.

Frumpdom doesn't just happen overnight, it's a sneaky little blighter - it creeps up on you slowly and insidiously. Before you know where you are you catch your reflection in a mirror or a shop window or you see a photograph that someone had taken in an unguarded moment and you simply don't recognise yourself any more.

It takes time to reclaim your inner goddess but it can be done. I truly believe we can do just about anything if we put our minds to it. We just have to want it badly enough and be prepared to put in the work required to achieve our goals.

We can't change the past and all the reasons that led to Frumpdom but we can put the past behind us and look to a better future but more importantly we can also enjoy the present. As they say, enjoy the journey.

Right here, right now we can revel in what we are, the gifts we have been given. We can be thankful for all that we have and we can face each day with courage, grace and humour.

So what if some of us have a stone or three (or more) to lose. We can still dress well, style our hair, apply some slap, and smell divine. We can buy ourselves a bunch of flowers instead of chocolate and biscuit bars.

When you are tempted to slob out on the sofa and binge watch Britain'sgotstrictlybakingonice with a bag of Doritos, pizza and a slab of Dairy Milk because you've had a bad day and you deserve a treat ask yourself this.......

"Is this really all I deserve, is this really all I'm worth. really?? Don't I deserve better than this. Am I really going to settle for such a third rate life".

Whenever I feel it's all too much and want to throw in the towel I tell myself in my best Arnie voice ...

"Get up, don't be lazy, don't be a wimp, don't be a cry baby. No one is going to help you, you have to do it yourself". I tell him to sling his hook, it's my life, I'll do what I want. Then he shrugs and says "have it your way, do what you want, but stop moaning and complaining. Life is not fair, get over it".

And, you know what, Arnie is right. Life is not fair.

I hate that my husband suffered so long and died so young. I hate that I wrecked my health and lost the best years of my life dealing with the devastation that his illness wreaked and that I couldnt change a thing, couldn't change the eventual outcome. I hated being so powerless back then.

But ....I could change what it did to me. I didn't have to remain powerless. I could wrest back control.

And yes .....I have turned things round, step by slow painful step. But it wasn't easy and it wasn't a straight linear progression, there have been obstacles along the way. And, Yes, I fell off the wagon .......many many times but I just kept my eyes on the prize . As Maman, who has been on this journey with me, ever since the thread began will testify, it's been a very long and arduous road.

Maman reached her ideal weight and defrumped years ago but has continued to travel with me and spur me on. It has taken me so much longer than it took Maman but somehow I managed never to give up.

I guess I am just stubborn that way.......:rotfl:

Just trust the fabbing process, believe in it, put your faith in it and it will deliver. Don't wait until you are slim or until you have more money or until there's a blue moon. Don't put it off, start today, day by day.

Cue Best Arnie Voice. "Do it, do it now". :rotfl:

Humpty ......Glad you are peased with your hair. Not long now till the wedding, sounds like you've got it nailed.

Lovely sunny day here......slept 8 hours and feel great.

More decluttering and maybe some gardening later.

Have a great weekend.......looks like the weather is warming up for Easter. :j.

I watched a programme on iplayer, can't remember the title but it was something like, "The plastic surgery capital of the world." It was a woman who was badly burned as a baby, she has scars on her face and neck, her hands were badly affected. She went to Korea where they seem to do lots of plastic surgery and she talked to doctors about what they could do to help her and to Korean women, who were generally lovely looking young women, about the surgery they were having, and some of it was quite extreme. One part really moved me, she was talking to a young Korean woman about what she was having done and why and said to her how lovely she was. The Korean woman looked at her and said, "I'd give anything to have eyes like yours, they are so beautiful." Well words to that effect. I thought how lovely, she looked at the badly burned woman and she didn't focus on the scars or the hands that didn't have full function, she saw beautiful eyes.

The presenter was an inspiration, she was such a positive person in a happy relationship and expecting her first baby, she didn't let her scars stop her doing anything. She said she was so lucky with her adoptive mother.

If we look we can usually see beauty in people, I used to work with women with mental health problems and it was sad seeing young women in their most beautiful years disfiguring themselves with scars on their arms and legs or starving themselves. We need to celebrate the positive.

This is a link to information about the presenter, Annie Price, what an inspirational woman. https://www.curtisbrown.co.uk/client/annie-price

I remember the day they told me I had fibromyalgia. I was standing at the tube station afterwards and the train arrived and I caught sight of myself in the reflection of the train door. I looked so old and overweight and absolutely exhausted.:( I think I had been so busy taking care of my husband and my cats and dogs that I had been avoiding mirrors for a while.

I look a lot better now if I do say so myself.:rotfl::T

    I'm not there yet, though.;)

I'm always looking at the receptionists at the Chinese herbalists and they are generally gorgeous.

I was having acupuncture and I overheard one of the women say she was almost 50 years old! I assumed she was younger than me!

Such wise words LL and I know exactly what you mean Wednesday, I've spent so many years being 'mum' and that seemed to mean frumpy and 'mumsy' that I'd forgotten me.

It's a life times work being fab and I intend to grab it with both hands, no matter how many slip ups along the way.

S, eyebrows are done and I'm really not sure. She's not taken too much but they just don't look quite right.

I'll try somewhere else next time and keep doing that until I find someone I'm happy with.

You wouldn't think it would be so hard!

I was talking to my DD2 yesterday. She's 24 and has 3 very lovely little boys and we were discussing the fact that we'd both put a skin care regime into place this week.

She was saying that she sees that 10-15 minutes in the morning and evening as 'her' time.

    I just loved that.

To be very honest with you all, I find the things that I'm putting into place ( healthy diet, skin care, perfume, jewellery) feel like a chore, another job to get done.

I found her comments made me start to look at it all a little bit differently.

Hi I have not been too good with the diet the last couple of days, just feeling bad because I didn't go swimming and have been scoffing hot cross buns. On the plus side I have been gardening , spent two hours digging today a d several hours weeding.
I have lost 2 inches off hips and bust and one inch of waist. I have also brought the pinch of nom cookbook and can recommend it. I plan to investigate their blog thoroughly.
Oh an I are away for a few days tomorrow I am packed but not for spring just winter.
I pulled a pair of shoes out of the wardrobe only to find the soles were splitting, dont you just hate that:mad:
Still tonight I will have a bath do my hair and nails and have a general fab up.

I was shocked when they said 60% of Korean women have plastic surgery in their 20s. In fact I still can't quite get my head round that, I don't think I know anyone who has had plastic surgery, oh hang on I do know someone who had a breast reduction but that was down to pain rather than how she looked.

Sometimes you just have to force yourself to go through the beauty routines Frankie and then it becomes a habit. It's so worth it in the long run. :)

I went to the hairdresser today and my stylist had called in sick. Someone else did an OK blow dry and trimmed my fringe but not as good as my usual. So pleased I wasn't having a cut or colour.

I saw a poster earlier for Judy Dench's new film Red Joan. It's amazing what a difference a good hairdo does as she's got a really frumpy wig on for the character.

Having a quiet evening at home. Tomorrow I need to pack for a few days away then off to my black tie do in the evening. DH says it's either long or cocktail dresses. I'll probably stick with my jumpsuit but considering my black lace Phase Eight short dress. That's a CS buy and I really like it.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. :)

Maman. It's funny you mention the poster of Red Joan and how frumpy Judy Dench looks in the role. That's exactly what I thought. Just goes to show the difference a bit of styling can make. Same with Helen Mirren, she can really play down her looks for a film role.....in fact she often does. She is usually far more glamorous in real life than she is for her films.

Well I have had a really productive day. Back bedroom now cleared and the loft bedroom reorganised and nice and tidy. My bedroom has been streamlined and looks a lot more spacious and luxurious. It's amazing how space equals luxury.

I can now lift the horrible manky pink carpet and decorate the back bedroom, will start next week. It is going to be my dressing room, with my wall to wall fitted wardrobes which I brought from the last house, a nice big mirror and my chandelier from my old bedroom. How lucky am I to have a whole room for clothes storage and somewhere to do my yoga and Pilates. Pure indulgence......:D. Eat your heart out Carrie Bradshaw. :rotfl:

I have worked myself to a standstill today so going to relax with a nice film, and copy Angelina Jolie and get my creams and lotions out....and also give myself a manicure.

I wonder what the reason is for that.

I have known quite a few women who have had breast implants. I used to have a job where I worked with sex workers and quite a few of them had implants. I guess as they could make more money with them!

I have seen that there is a Korean 10 step beauty regime for women. I've seen the videos come up on YouTube. I've never actually watched one to see what it entails.
