So sorry for your loss @ GreenQueen:heart2::heart2::heart2:
After a busy start to the week I have got 2 quiet days - just 3 clients this eve and a clear day tomorrow. I have a lot of personal and work admin to do and that will have to take priority - especially submitting my accounts (need to do my son's for him too - will teach him how for next year now he's turned 18). I've done all of the book-keeping just need to do the calcs and enter it - MUST get an accountant for next year!!
I really hope that in amongst this I get a bit of decluttering done also - that would be my reward :rotfl:Shifting my energy for 20200 -
So sorry about your dad GreenQueen.
Someone on here mentioned Vintage Cash Cow - I contacted them and they've sent me all the gubbins.
I've got old costume jewellery that was my DM's - that's the bulk of what I would send. Some of it is broken, though they say they accept broken stuff. I'm hesitating to send it, don't know why really. It just looks such a ramshackle collection. My mother has been gone for over 35 years, and this stuff has languished in a box all that time.
I've taken out a couple of things to keep, but still dithering. It's not because it was hers, as I say I've hardly looked at it for years.
I should bite the bullet and send it and if it's all rubbish no doubt they'll tell me0 -
*92 paperwork decluttered -was actually looking for something else in my household file and ended up finding old paperwork that I no longer need so it's gone
*93 a box a Christmas item was in- found in DDs room just dumped-now in recycling
*94 large cardboard boxesx2 -now in recycling
*95 plastic tub-(found while tidying up and making space for the last Christmas item to be put away) -now in recycling
GreenQueen I'm very sorry for ur loss

GreenQueen, so sorry to read your sad news.
A bit of decluttering here while I am away, some old mascara and eye liner as I never wear make-up but occasionally decide a special event deserves it. Also holey socks saved specially to throw away on the trip - glad I’m not the only one saving things to discard!
Also a lot of shredding before I left. Hoping that my decluttering mojo will be strong when I get back.
WhiteMusk, it was lovely to read your post after you got rid of everyone - enjoy moving back in to your home!0 -
GreenQueen I am so sorry to hear of your loss, sometimes sorting stuff can be a distraction as we all need to be occupied at times like this.
OH was marvellous in my mother;s house last year, much better at clearing than me, though some if the clutter here now was stuff I brought back...
MrsSD ta for encouragements ... just eyeing up another box0 -

Yes, that's what worries me. I'm going to have to be very strong and not keep things I don't really want or need.2021 - mission declutter and clean - 0/20210 -
Thoughts are with you GreenQueen, am still getting to grips with my Mum's stuff, and that been quite a few years as she was in a nursing home prior to her passing so we are talking about 10 years. I learnt my lesson then ref my dad's stuff (yes thats where I got it from) but I have been making a supreme effort thanks to this page and being scared my children will have to do it when I go.
As I am having overseas visitors next week I had to really declutter 2 bedrooms (one my gson stays in at odd times so.... 14years old so you can imagine) but they are now sorted so thats set me off, must start of front room which I only use as a dumping ground and for my clothes horse. What do others do with the empty boxes that huge items come in - if you need to return said item they want it in box, I hang on, then use them to store more rubbish in then have to work myself up to declutter them !!!!0 -
2/52 - not progressing very much at the moment due to work and life! I did clean and clear my mantelpiece though. Most items went to a better home but a couple of bits binned and a couple of bits recycled. Embarrassingly there was a receipt from 2016 on there!0

She comes along each day to lift our spirits and reward even me, who actually has managed a few coffee mugs and not much else :rotfl: I do have an excuse, but even so...
