So sorry for your loss GreenQueen. Look after yourself.
I have done b*gger all for two days after 7 hours of chemo yesterday and back at hospital today to have a drain removed _pale__pale_(actually that is decluttering).
Tomorrow I'm planning on two hours solely focusing on having a sort out.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

At last! I have got going - cleared a box of paperwork that had been under my desk for most of last year - emptied the shredder twice and filed away the crucial bits ...0

I watched the second episode and feel much better now!0 -

GQ so sorry for your loss. I got such a shock reading your post, I feel like I know your mum, dad and brother. You three will miss him as you seem such a great family unit despite, or perhaps because of, your foibles. It seems mental to say tell your mum I'm thinking of her too , but certainly take care if yourself as best you can at this time.

Sorry to hear about your loss greenqueen.
I helped my hubby and his brother clear their mother's house when she went into a home and then soonnpassed away. It does make you think about what you keep in your own home. I am even more conscious because we don't have children.
Sold some clothes for £4 today. Not much, but better then a kick in the teeth and more importantly it hasn't gone into a landfill.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Sorry for your loss green queen. I remember when I lost my mum sorting her house before I was really ready, my dad is still with us and wanted stuff sorted asap. He is well on top of paperwork (this is not a trait I have inherited from him) and did not need help with that side of things, except the odd e-mail. But he wanted her things sorted and out of the house as soon as! I was clearing her things out of the house before we could get an appointment to register her death! A lot of her bits and Bob's came round to my house in bags and boxes so as I could sort it in my own time, over three years later I still have some of her stuff I have no need for still here ! This year it needs to go!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

1. SMALL TASKS WILL BE DONE ASAP
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
3. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
4. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
5. IF I WAS STARTING FROM SCRATCH, WOULD I BUY THIS?
6. BE LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP - STICK TO ONE THING UNTIL YOU GET THERE
White_musk, your post brought a tear (well several actually) to my eyes. Such a lovely post
Thank you sooooo much :T:T & thank you to Cherryfudge, somerandom & Daisy 1571 :T
Well Wednesday has not been a productive decluttering day BUT it has been an enjoyable one.
DH & I both had a bath, had a hot drink & then toddled off to dentist (left DSis in bed) The DLR & tube were both surprisingly quiet & we managed to get seats even though it was lunchtime :T Arrived at the dentist with 3 minutes to spareI had my check up & clean but will need a small filling at my next appointment
DH not so lucky
as he lost his crown a couple of weeks ago (accidentally swallowed it & decided against bothering to retrieve it :rotfl:) The X-ray has been taken & the prep work done & he needs to go back next week for the fitting. He decluttered loads of money  Back on the tube, got off in the City, then banked my Premium Bond cheques (3 x £25)
, spent £50 in the butchers & then we decided to go to the pub :rotfl: Extra bonus was that I found a pale ale I really liked unfortunately that meant it went down too smoothly & quickly :rotfl:
A very pleasant 1.5 hours in the pub with my DH - lots of talking & laughing & planning of holidays & :rotfl: planning of decluttering :rotfl: Also decided no cooking for me :T:T:T Bumped into a couple of DH’s old work colleagues & then timed it so badly that we caught the DLR during rush hourbut as it is the starting station we got seats
:T
Got home & DH ordered curry for us & Chinese for DSis. I grabbed another pile of paperwork from the crate & found another A4 photo frame but the rest will be sorted later today.
127 - 128 Two Newspapers read & recycled
129 An A4 photo frame - CS bag
Happy that a couple of items decluttered & will try harder :rotfl:
Cheerleading starts here
Cheapskate, glad you & the family are recovering. :T well done on the decluttering but please don’t do too much until you are fully recovered
Chocolatelover93, I totally understandThe happier you are at the visible proof of decluttering physical items the more your happiness forces out negative thoughts
hence decluttering the mind
Well done on the table :T
GreenQueen, Well Done on decluttering parents paperwork :T & making a positive decision on sorting your own :T
choille, :rotfl: ‘a keeper of clutter & muddle’ - not true - you are a practical & organised personfar easier to sort in the comfort of your own home
Hermia, perhaps you could keep the log in details with birth certificates etc.
Ginmonster, please give yourself a big pat on the back :T:T:T:T:T:T You are doing a great job & when the visitors have gone your decluttering numbers will soar
seahorsey, every single item out is a win :T & if you can manage to declutter as you go along think how much you will declutter when you have a ‘decluttering session’
White_musk, almost thereSo disruptive, but so worth it when it is all done & dusted
CRANKY40, ditto what I wrote to seahorsey :T:D
Downshifterella, Well Done :T on sorting the bathroom :T I definitely think tackling the smaller decluttering tasks is the way to goas you say it will motivate you for the bigger tasks
Can the big tasks be broken down into smaller jobs - eating the elephant :rotfl:
Aaleigha, what a pain that the move is taking longer than anticipatedI bet you can’t wait to get unpacking
parsniphead, that is a long timeI wish you every success in your decluttering but please do not do too much - your health is far more important than getting rid of clutter
chupachups4, still decluttering items & cluttering money :T:T What a nice idea for a night out & treating DH as well :rotfl:
Flugelhorn Well Done :T Paperwork seems to be a common themeI think we all decide that it can wait a bit & then all of a sudden we have a paper mountain :rotfl:
Gem-gem, quite right tooA double win - no landfill & pennies in your pocket :T
Sillyvixen, getting it done in your own time will make it easier
More power to our decluttering mojo
