  • *485 a selection of American sweets DD BF didn't like from a mini sweet hamper, decluttered with other goodies to trick or treaters tonight.

*486 DD was given a bean in a tin that she had to grow. Fatal in this house with the cats but we had 'Mr Bean' growing really well before he was destroyed by the cats. Soil into the garden and the tin into recycling.

Thursday has been yet another dry bright day but still cold 🥶

DSis decorated her 3 chocolate coconut cakes, 2 of which were delivered to the neighbours. One neighbour donated 6 cans of beer & the other made wontons which her children brought over - scrumptious 😋 DH went to sm on the bike for cold drinks & another pumpkin which he carved on his return. Dinner was sausages, mash & plum tomatoes.

Now for Halloween 🎃 we put tea lights in the carved pumpkins, had plenty of sweets available & DSis wore a hooded skull mask  She frightened the beejesus out of the first child & the 2 adults with her. Mostly frightened the adults including one mum who ran away & hid behind the other adults & abandoned her little one on the doorstep :rotfl: A 2nd child was so spooked that he gave my DSis a sweetie from his bucket :rotfl:
The pumpkins looked great, my DSis had a whale of a time including frightening the next door neighbours (rented house) by going out into the back garden & shining a torch under her chin whilst wearing the mask & peering over the garden fence :rotfl:
Chocolate coconut cake is absolutely delicious 🤤

3975 - 3991 Two drinks tins, 2 food cans, glass bottle & metal cap, glass jar & metal lid, 3 lots of cardboard packaging, plastic bottle, 6 leaflets, brochure - Recycled
3992 - 3993 Bag of kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - Binned
3994 - 3996 Two memento booklets & a set of postcards from Canada - CS

Very MSE :money: Chocolatedrinker :T Congratulations on a happy day :D

Well Done Happy Kitties : shame about the bean in a tin ;)

    Happy decluttering :D

    Please can i return?
Sorry i have not read to catch up with everyone , but i do think i need you all as this is going to be ongoing if even for maintenance.
Big life things happening here ...and i didnt know how to keep up.
A Family member has now moved in ( to help them with their current circumstances.- unemployment etc)This Involved a big move 275 mile round trip and their flat contents in my garage . However they have done fantastically and its nearly all cleared by means of selling, charity shopping, giving away.
Unfortunateley in helping them i have lost my own momentum, and realised i have also condensed my stuff into other rooms instead of dealing with it .
TC77 i have just spotted your post ... i would also like to hear from people about the effect of decluttering. My living room is done and gives me much pleasure it is like an oasis of calm since its been fully done.I want the whole of my house to be like that.

Loads happeneing here this week. Attic is done, and no treasures hiding anywhere :( But it's done so I'm more than happy :THouse has been hoovered from top to bottom, we can now see the kitchen table again:eek: Lets see how long that lasts:rotfl: Bathrooms cleaned and de-cluttered, another bag ready to be sent to the charity shop
I went to Ikea during the week and got a few bits and pieces...... lets face it, you don't go to Ikea for one thing do you? Well I don't anyway, so I wasn't going to lie to myself or anyone else for that matter:rotfl:anyhoo, got 3 storage unit things and they have been assembled already:dance: so we're nice and tidy now in a bedroom and attic.

I wrote myself a to-do-list and most of it is ticked off, which has never happened before:eek: so It's definitley motivated me.
I've been having an argument with our fridge for a while now, well years actually:wall: trying to figure out the temperature settings I have finally mastered it:T Turns out the highest number is the lowest setting:doh:

I have read the manual, googled for eternity and fiddled about with the knob in the fridge for God knows how long, and I've finally mastered it.
Hopefully it sorts the problem we've been having this past few weeks with the fridge now, the water was overflowing into the fruit drawer so fingers crossed that's it done.

I've officially started for Christmas:xmastree:I actually started on Christmas Eve last year thanks to the Boots sale:money:and there was a Scentsy sale in May or June time that I got a lot of Christmas gifts in too, so I technically already started, but I started properly today.

Got some Christmas cards in for the kids in school, nice pretty Disney ones including Frozen 2 cards, which I know will be popular again in a few weeks.

Tomorrow will be a lazy day I think, I've managed to get more than I expected to get done this week alone, and I'm back to work on Monday, and that's us until Christmas now.
