Could someone qive me a quick lesson on how to quote please?

Happykitties Thank you for your kind words - i lost a cat 4 months ago too, they have all grown old together its heart wrenching. Thankfully i have my remaining 3 cats, one of which isnt keen on me but since we have lost little dog kind of knows and has started to snug up with me. I know i shall never have another dog.

    Still tackling the paper mountain
331 - dealt with 50 items of paperwork from study (filed, binned, recycled or shredded)
332 - book to car to return to friend next week
333 - free gift (not wanted) very large sports mug advertising a company i dont like. Into CS bag still in its wrapping
334 - dealt with post the moment it entered house :)

Interested to know if anyone has done what im planning this Christmas. Hoping with friends to just give a 'token' gift. If possible to support local business or charitable cause. So maybe some handmade soap, or charity note cards, or local honey . This first year will be the big switch. keeping in touch going for walks and/coffee lunch is more important to me.

    42 /52 - a king size mattress picked up.

43/52 - a yucky toilet brush and holder thrown out! Bad idea to have metal parts on something that comes into contact with water and goes rusty.

Can I recommend Angelato ice cream shop and the rotating Kafka statue if you haven't already seen them?
And the Mucha Museum is lovely, there was a very handsome but very grumpy chap setting entry tickets...
Love Prague. Stayed opposite the Fred and Ginger building last time.

    Back from dinner ;)

Forgot to post yesterday as was too tipsy when we got back to the hotel:o

Wednesday was a dry day, went down to breakfast a bit later & were the last ones in the restaurant :o Fannied about in our room & left it too late to do the bus tour before meeting our friend & her sister who had arrived in Prague Monday evening. So we get Metro Tickets from the concierge - one stop to Republic Square - had a Classic Trdelnik & an ice cream Trdelnik - truly scrumptious 😋- I bet you are all singing along now :rotfl: Had a beer & then Metro to the Staropramen Brewery where we met C & her sister M (over from America). Ignored the brewery tour & decided to go to the Kwak Bar - which has it’s own ATM :rotfl: what could possibly go wrong :rotfl: Had to wait for two minutes before the bar opened then spent the next 2.25 hours telling tall tales ;) & drinking strong beer  A few nibbles as well ;) Then we decided what we needed was more beer accompanied by food :rotfl: So caught the Metro back to Old Town & went to what is now ‘our bar’ - La Republica. The live music was a 4 piece band - drummer, keyboard player & 2 guitarists. Excellent music again, lots of laughter & chat & more beer. DH had pork knuckle, C had duck breast, M had veal schnitzel & I had a chicken Caesar Salad. The ladies went back to the Metro to return to their hotel at 8:45 p.m but DH & I stayed for another half hour - one more beer & listening to the music. Staggered back to the hotel - DH fell asleep & I addressed the postcards I had written - did double check :rotfl:
DH & I both woke up with thick heads - we forgot that you should get drunk on a birthday NOT the night before  I am now 60 :p Opened the cards that I brought over & a lovely card from DH. DH made me a cup of tea which I had whilst having a bubble bath ;) Went down to breakfast early as I had booked a massage & a facial treatment in the Hotel Spa compliments of my darling DH :T Breakfast made us both feel better & a nice surprise the pianist played Happy Birthday & one of the waitresses brought over a mini birthday cake (chocolate sponge with a cape gooseberry jam layer, topped with a chocolate fan, a cape gooseberry & a white chocolate sign with the name of the hotel) compliments of the hotel. Talk about a surprise  Returned to our room - DH decided to go on the bus tour whilst I was having my treatments.

My very first experience of spa treatments ;) Put on a robe & slippers & was then taken into the world of the Spa :rotfl: Across a wooden bridge, past various zen gardens & statues, along corridors & up & down stairs - and all this with soothing music playing & just tea light type lighting - very gloomy :rotfl: An hour long neck & back deep massage was the order of the day. It was wonderful - why on earth have I waited so long :( Then 5 minutes rest in another darkened room then taken off to the beauty treatment room. Lots of lotions, potions, facial massage etc & whilst the tightening mask was on, both my hands & wrists were treated to an oiled massage.
I was in seventh heaven. The masseuse advised that my shoulders & neck are very tense - so I have an excuse to treat myself to massages when we return home :rotfl:
Met up with my DH & we went for a coffee, returned to our room briefly then set off for The Charles Bridge 🌉 What a beautiful bridge & because it was a nice sunny day we got some good photos including the 5 piece band - saxophone, washboard, fiddle, tuba & trumpet, the guitar playing puppet & the piece de resistance - Richard the owl 🦉 who was placed on my arm whilst DH took photos - 100 Czech Korunas - about £4, but a priceless memory & experience.
Stopped for a beer - a theme is emerging :rotfl: - on the way back as DH was suffering with his blistered feet. When we got to our room another surprise for me - A Happy Birthday Note & a small box of chocolates - from the hotel :T How to make a guest feel special :A
Napped for an hour then off to our bar. A few beers, the Bohemian platter for 2 - so much meat it could probably have fed 4 - ribs, pork belly, pork knuckle, sausages, duck leg, 2 types of pickled cabbage, 3 types of dumplings together with mustard, horseradish & a rich duck gravy plus bread
Live music again - 2 older Male guitarists - less eclectic play list than the previous guitarists but excellent none the less - folk songs, Dean Martin, Oasis, Cyndi Lauder & Pink Floyd covers ;)
I have had a most excellent 60th birthday - so looking forward to next year’s birthday - when I will bee 60 again :rotfl:

    Very generous whmf00001 :T

Bit by bit - decorating & crocheting :T

Good work Picklepot :T but you should be 331 :rotfl: then 335 ;)

    Well Done Barny1979 :T

ALMOST there gilly1964 :T:T When the kitchen is done I would just double your number :rotfl:

    Well Done Rootle :T

Happy Kitties - still teasing :rotfl: you can do it, I know you can :p 500 here you come :rotfl:

Thanks short_bird :T Tomorrow we are off to see the Bone Church & back home Saturday :( However we have decided that Prague is so beautiful that we will be back - so are leaving ourselves plenty to do next time around ;)

Keep up the good work everyone :T

  • Have no idea what I will be doing this Christmas. Usually go to son's with gidts then over to daughter's for lunch, home around 4.00 but this year I will not be able to drive and daughter does not talk about details until nearer the time. May go to son's, he will collect me as thats in my town or he may collect and take me to daughter's - next town. She could come or send hubby but that seems a bit unfair so if son takes me and then daughter will return me. I may be asked to stay over on the eve but I would rather be home - will be staying there for a couple of weeks after my op. I will not be "Home Alone" I know, even next door neighbours would have me round so I am not at all worried. Plenty of food in if the worse comes to the worse.

    Prague sounds amazing:)

334 - brand new hi viz dog jacket gone into dog rescue bag
    335 - expired pet meds
    336 - 100 emails deleted
337 - 50 items of paperwork filed, recycled, shredded or binned

    Positives of decluttering...
My DH and DS have started to do it without prompting :)
