Earlier this week I had a pile of coats DS2 had left behind in one of his moves in and out. He has sorted it and took the lot today, 8 big coats.

I also cleared a bit of mental clutter today: I sent the sponsor money for Walk the Walk. i have been collecting it since may and got the last donations in only last week.

I also sent the first of several thankyou cards I should have sent when D Sis died 6 months ago. Its never too late for a thankyou in my mind. Got a few more yet but at least I have made a start.

Been busy this week to-ing and fro-ing the DGC on the school run, so a bit lax on the decluttering front, well apart from the huge amount of food they have managed to put away :rotfl: However 13 food container lids have been put in the recycling, as I can't find their b0tt0ms !

Recluttered - the hydrangea which was cut down to get at the fence panels, is showing new shoots :j It's been in the ground since the late 40's and was really leggy, even after several trims. Hopefully it will now come back stronger than ever.
    Happy decluttering all

Serendipity2, I missed your reply to my post! So sorry... and thank you MrsSD for bringing it to my attention. I can certainly look at donating to the library, or maybe, as someone else has suggested, to a NT property. I think the real difficulty is prying books out of my hands!

Nothing decluttered today: just been at work, done some laundry and packed for my holiday.

Feathers all over the garden so we think that a sparrow hawk was successful in disposing of a pigeon :T -
Thursday has been another very pleasant day weather wise - started cloudy but brightened up through the day although getting chillier :(.
DSis & I went into town to pick up my new spectacles - fortunately I had already decluttered the pennies :o DSis was going to buy some glasses but unfortunately couldn’t find the frames she had chosen last time :( - at least she saved herself some pennies ;) Also popped into MrT for some potatoes + managed to find Scw*rtz sage & onion Pork seasoning (after searching MrA & MrS for at least 6 months with no joy :() Bought all 5 jars that were in stock :rotfl: DH was busy in the garden whilst we were out. The bush didn’t need digging out :rotfl: it came out of the ground with a good tug :rotfl: I trimmed off all the foliage before going out & DH chopped up the branches using an electric saw. He also levelled an area & moved the garden box + relocated the rotting wood (bug garden) to a new location. When we arrived home DH was filling the hole under the front of the house - fortunately NOT subsidence :T He has filled it with bricks & chunks of Stone & then used P*stcrete to level it off. When DH finished that, I supervised whilst he moved a smaller bush to a new location :rotfl: He has also put Danish Oil on the stand for the corn grinder. We have also prepped the ground where the 2 new compost bins are being sited. The old & Broken green Dalek will be taken to the Tip. Getting there gradually :p
Dinner was chicken fried in butter with boiled potatoes, green beans & sweetcorn. I have saved 2 chicken breasts for Friday’s dinner - creamy chicken & mushroom tagliatelle.

The hm soup has been zizzed & tasted & is yummy - Friday, Saturday & Sunday’s lunches for DH & I :T

  • Hi everyone,

You are all doing brilliantly on here, I love reading what everyone is up to. Our dining room no longer has a lawnmower and shed contents in it and a lot of books and stuff has left. There was one thing so far I looked for and couldn't find, an old thermos. The world didn't end. I didn't buy another one, I just managed without it.

My big success this week is 11 bras to Bravissimo's charity recycling. All lovely colours and condition but none of them have been the right size for me for years. Possibly a decade! Now someone else can enjoy them rather than me feeling guilty at the cash spent and my being a different shape/size. Some are like new.

I felt so good walking out after dropping them off!

466 - big bag to recycling bin.

Must tackle a specific area as seem to have stalled really.
  • Nothing more than food etc but had a good chat with dd over lunch, she really wants me to get cracking on getting rid of Mum's stuff as well as some of mine with a view to downsizing. She is involved with her in-laws who downsized but now need to be put into a home and she want me to start on mine before I go too ga ga to do it myself. Decorating etc too. I think I will have to get a move on, have been dilly dallying for a few years now.
