Filled up half a charity bag with clothes. Started adding bits to a bootfair box.
Filled a bin up with paper - was tidying up the office (again!).
Old CD-ROM s binned.
Old SATs paper recycled.
Started to go through old notebooks seeing what can be disposed of.

One plant label (all I could find to dispose of while following MrsSD's excellent suggestion of raiding the cutlery drawer and pen pot - I think I did them rather thoroughly last time), some garden tidying and 10 spiders that had made their way into the house, They are now in the garden and I've locked the door to give them a chance to come to terms with their new situation.

4. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
5. IF I WAS STARTING FROM SCRATCH, WOULD I BUY THIS?
6. BE LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP - STICK TO ONE THING UNTIL YOU GET THERE
Forgot to mention yesterday that a sparrow hawk made its presence known - whistled & flew over & the pigeons vamoosed for several hours :T:T Yippee.
After a night of rain - welcomed by the plants :rotfl: Wednesday has been another very pleasant day weather wise - started cloudy but brightened up through the day & was pleasantly warm.
DH & I delivered the 2 bags of donations to CS - it was closed againbut I walked up to the CS clothes shop & was advised that the CS lady was across the road. I found her & she opened up the shop to take delivery :T
Apart from that the day has been spent in the back garden. DSis & DH swept sand into the gaps between the brick surround of the patio. DH has repotted two horseradish plants & harvested the other 4 plants, he also repaired the step that he made for the window cleaner + finished sanding the stand for the corn grinder & trimmed the front hedge. I dug up all the summer bulbs, lavender & flowering plants (apart from a dahlia, a camellia & a peony) from the mini garden surrounding our olive tree. The bulbs are on a tray drying out, the lavender has been pruned & potted with the flowering plants & a couple of plants relocated to the table top garden + 4 more tomatoes harvested. One neighbour has seen our new patio & was very impressed + jealous of our south facing gardenHe also stated that our new front path has raised the ‘tone’ of our neighbourhood :rotfl:
I have also used lots of bits & pieces from the fridge & freezer to make a soup. If it tastes as good as it smells (once it has been zizzed) then it will be one of my better hm soups
:rotfl: It is also an opportunity to start using up some of the hm croutons from the freezer - there are a lot of bags of croutons :rotfl: Dinner was home cooked Fish’n’chips & peas.
Weather permitting, tomorrow we will continue working in the garden - there is a bush to be dug up & disposed of which will create space for a garden box. The rest of the time will be spent tidying & relocating various pots to their final resting places + planting spring bulbs.
Now before I list my decluttering & start cheerleading, a little story & a confession - I am married to a male witch :rotfl: Whilst playing AB2 an advert kept popping up for 100% NZ Wool Dryer Balls - denigrating Dryer Sheets & extolling the virtues of Dryer Balls. I thought they were a great idea but I am a bit lazy & shelved the ideaHowever today my DH presented me with a gift, wait for it.... drumroll..........
Yes you’ve guessed - my witchy DH had bought me a Bag of 100% NZ Wool Dryer Balls :rotfl: Shame I have no washing & that the weather is so good :rotfl: but I am looking forward to using them in the not too distant future
3083 - 3101 Two lots of cardboard packaging, 3 glass bottles & metal lids, 7 drinks cans, plastic lidded pot, plastic tray, 0.5” paperwork, 3 cardboard boxes, large amount of paper packaging - Recycled
3102 - 3107 Bag of kitchen detritus, 3 lots of plastic packaging, 2 empty compost bags - Binned
3108 Bag of garden waste - Council Collection
Perfectly reasonable to count as 3, keepcalmandcraftbut I think you should count as 4
i.e. 5 minutes of paperwork sorting counts as 1 even though every 5 minutes seems like a lifetime :rotfl:
Cherryfudge, I liked serendipity2076’s idea - is that a possibility for you? Not cheeky at all - just a slight case of me not wanting to lose the option to have a cuppa if the new kettle breaks down:rotfl:
Well Done Happy Kitties :T nice to know the cats are insisting on helping you declutter

Do your cats have an MSE ID by the way? They sound like champion declutterers. I thought I might see them on this thread somewhere.
Cherryfudge, GreenQueen the head has yet to be found!!!!! I think it will def be under furniture somewhere.
Commonly known as the 'cat gang' on any greetings cards, they are definitely champion declutters.........usually under the dishwasher or washing machine and youngest cat is the equivalent of the artful dodger, thieving anything that is shiny.......including my stairlift keys one time:eek:
