I often print of a recipe to use it. I use letters and our carer rotas instead of new paper - I print on the back - though I came close to sending a letter to the bank on the back of a letter from a different bank. Evening MrsSD and fellow declutterers, well our daughter is now back in her redecorated and re-carpeted room which she loves, so hopefully she will bond with her room a lot more and enjoy playing in this space and making the most of it. Back to decluttering, and I have done two tip runs in recent days with all the bits of leftover carpet and wallpaper, and coathangers which our daughter has grown out of. On the subject of growing out of things, there is a big bag of school uniform with name tapes inside which is too small and will be going to the tip this weekend. My wife is struggling a little bit with her anxiety at the moment, so I'm keeping this project ticking over at the moment. Onwards and upwards.0

Hi Everyone!
I am a bit of a compulsive hoarder, but have decided I can't stand all the 'STUFF' any longer.
I don't have a lot of time to sort through everything, so will be listing the 'toot' as I come across it and am aiming to get rid of 300 things by Christmas, but wont be listing every envelope or tin can that goes into the recycling😀
1-61 Today, I had someone collect an old CD stand, and about 60 plant pots that I put on freecycle for free. They were delighted with their goodies😀0 -
I had a few days of no decluttering: too busy with PPI and work. Since then however I've redeemed the time a bit: we've just had a new carpet fitted so the house has been a jumble of things in the wrong place, but most are back now so I can see to move. I also did a bit of deep cleaning so there's an area I feel good about. Yesterday and today the following have gone:
One piece of post and a plant to DD, a book to a friend, a rawlplug, an oddment of lino and some damaged wallpaper to the bin.12 spiders from the lounge (Don't worry, I caught them in a long-handled soft duster-thing and dumped them in the garden). Lots of hedge clippings. Two lots of meds finished. Two out of date loyalty cards. One broken peg.
My former total was 1463 so I think the new score is 1487. I think I need to step up the pace a bit if I'm to get to 2019 by the end of the year.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Tuesday was like Monday - started sunny, blues skies & fairly warm but clouded over & threatened rain which never appeared but a really nice breeze :T Another perfect washing & drying day - so DSis did her washing.
Disappointing day for DH & I - we tried to deliver 2 bags of donations to CS but it was closedWalked up to the CS clothes shop & that was closed too
Then decided to see if we could find some dining chairs - 4 stores, no joy
. In order to make sure it wasn’t an entirely wasted trip we popped into B+Q & bought some tester pots for our bedroom & also a couple of lampshades. So down about our lack of success that I did absolutely nothing for the rest of the day apart from setting up the new kettle & cleaning & boxing up the old kettle & putting it in the garage - Justin :rotfl: I didn’t even make dinner - DH made cheese sauce & we had with fresh pasta - one of his tasty cheese sauces :T Will try to do better on Wednesday
3073 - 3079 Two glass bottles & metal lids, 4 drinks cans, cardboard packaging - Recycled

Nice to see you leelad. Well Done on the decorating project - your daughter is very luckyand you must pleased that the Tip runs are out of the way. Re the school uniform, can the name tapes be removed & the clothes donated or are they too worn? Sorry to hear that your wife is struggling at the moment
hopefully you & your daughter can offer reassurance & show her that she has no need to be anxious.

Decluttering has not been going brilliantly lately, but last night spent 20 minutes sorting out a pile of paperwork that was toppling over. Shredded or recycled most of it and other documents have been filed where I can find them again! I've counted this as 3".Stash busting challenge 2025: 0/100 £0/£100 Fashion on the ration 2025: 0/660

Thank you MRS SD - both for the ideas and for the Maths! I will have a look at those though I know I did the pens a while ago so they may not be massive wins. Still, you never know what may creep in (or fail to work).
My main problem is books - I want most of them and we must have several hundred. Today I'm going to hunt out a handful that I'm not bothered about.
Problem number 2 is papers...there are more papers but the books are bigger.
May I cheekily ask - do you need to keep that kettle?
Thanks for all your lovely cheer leading.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I had a massive clear out of books a few years ago and donated them to the local library. They were delighted as, due to cutbacks, they have no money. I was happy to donate them, as I was sharing them with lots of people, so I wasn't 'losing' them.
They even sent a man to collect them!0
