My grandson came to stay overnight and I had to realise that he is now old enough to do "manly" jobs. He dismembered the rusty broken garden arch for me and put it into bin, drilled holes to put 2 of the solar lights in car port (electric drill), these had been bought a couple of years ago, put a waterproof foam cushion around a carport post, I have a habit of catching car on that post, I had "saved" some big fat solid foam and an old tarpuline thing and made a waterproof "cushion" for this job. He knocked some of the bricks at the end of the garden wall which had been falling out themselves and again, I had a habit of catching it with the car, he unscrewed a TV wall stand from my bedroom, put it and a 2nd one into bag and along with a bag of clothes, helped me to the CS with them. He showed me how to take panoramic photos on my moby - did not know it was a regular app on there - he took a couple of electroic items I do not use, he may not use or need them but he loves that sort of thing. For all this he de-cluttered lots of food and sweets, finished off 2 bottles of pop and one of squash. He is 6ft 2" and 15 so it has taken me a while to see him as a "man", got several other jobs lined up for him next time he comes to stay !!!. How am I doing Mrsd. xx0

1646 - 1666 - general recycling
Very little done today, had the MIL and SIL and nephew come for a visit to see the new living room. And just as they left the builder turned up to chat about our plans so the day was gone maybe more tomorrow.
1667 - 1766 there was at least one hundred sheets of paper
1767 a very large old dried and mainly dead hebe bush burnt
1768 - 1790 various other parts of trees and fallen branches, buckets of dried weeds also tossed onto the fire.
Still being very lazy and lounging in bed, awaiting a delivery I imagine isn’t going to turn up AGAIN! I have windows to paint, we are having new wooden slimline double glazed windows being made and put in, but we paint them. I’ve done a fair bit, but have to space it out otherwise I get very bored and slap dash. Today will be the first top coat on one side of five of the frames. I’ve worked out I have another 7 days of work to do which will be spaced out over two or three weeks as you have to let it dry in between.“Isn't this enough? Just this world? Nothing de-cluttered yet, but the day is young...however I've had word from the garage that the part that's failed on my car (essential part of the DPF) has to be replaced ASAP, shouldn't really be driving on it. That's going to set us back a bare minimum of £400, plus labour and VAT, probably more!!:mad: More bothered about the fact that we need to drive to the airport next week when we go on holiday...*&£%@%&$&...oh and there's a screw in one tyre as well!!
Think I need some very strong coffee or a double G&T before I get cracking with de-cluttering!

Back on track with getting up at a reasonable time - woke DH up @ 8:40, he brought me a cup of tea in bed :A Had a couple of sips & got up, dressed & at ‘emDH departed on time for his MOT appointment & is looking forward to a full English while he is waiting. I have hung out my DSis’s washing (which didn’t quite dry yesterday
) & am just watching White House Down before a very small sm trip & then back to the paperwork. Currently sunny with wispy white clouds but it has rained quite heavily overnight :T the garden appreciated it & it has cleared the air :T
You get a Gold Star ⭐️ whmf00001 for enlisting your grandson :T A serious amount of decluttering of pesky jobs that seem to accumulateShame he is so tall - you could have sent him up the chimney :rotfl: I bet he was as pleased as punch that his gran trusts him to do ‘manly’ jobs
Excellent work on the decluttering of paperwork & garden stuff TamsinC :T Very MSE of you painting new window frames & spreading the job out :T I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for knowing yourself well- I tend to get bored & slapdash & rather than stopping I continue then berate myself
Oh Cheapskate - what a nightmare  I think a quadruple G&T is in orderCan you get a family member or friend to drive you to the airport? I will wish you a very happy holiday whilst I remember
See you all later

Off to the New Forest to a fairy festival today. Before I go DH is taking a sofa chair to the tip. We have offered it everywhere we can think of but no one wants it, such a shame.:(
He is also taken a wall mounted wooden plate rack to the CS.
This week I have been sorting the Room of Doom and have now got a system of bags and boxes which will be donated etc. Making goood headway on about 30 mins a night. I could do more but easoily fatigued these days.
I hope to clear it by the end of the month so that I can clear my DD room when she goes back to uni. Her room is becoming a sewing/craft room and the bigger Room of Doom will be hers until she leaves home in the next rew years. Luckily she hasn't fot much stuff as I trained her early on not to hang on to stuff. :TWife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. whmf00001 If you grandson fancies a few days in the Black Country I could keep him busy for a few days. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: He sounds like a lovely young man.
I posted on my diary yesterday about how I accidently brought a sh@rk vacuum while having my chemo on Wednesday. Well it came yesterday afternoon and oh my word the stuff it pulled up from my carpets. Oh the shame. I wouldn't mind but I'd vacuumed the day before with Henry. He has obviously been a lazy bugg£r for a while and not done his job.
DS took a pile of toys to the Barnardoes charity shop yesterday. He was so proud taking them in and walked up to the counter and announced he was donating his toys. He has since sorted more and wants to take them to Acorns Children's Hospice which is on the brink not closing due to lack of funding. It's been around for so long and is a disgrace what is happening. Sorry, rant over. Phew.
I've just declutter we a small chocolate bar. Does this count?

I've been awol for 9 days so I'm going to jump in rather than try to catch up.
I sorted out a load of bedding for DD - it was hers anyway and now it's gone to her flat. 18 items. She's also taken quite a few things out of the loft but I can't count that as me decluttering.
I've made decisions and got rid of 19 paper items and an empty makeup container too.

I'm making up another bag for the chazzer. I put in the two pairs of sunglasses and have been looking around my house for what else can go.
In my bedroom so far are three white candles that I never use along with a fake plant. I have some flickering Amazon candles that I use instead.
I threw away some of my husband's old sandals too. I need to go through his wardrobe again as he has bought a few new tops lately so some old ones could go.0 -
Yesterday I spent the day in the garden. Old broken plant pots recycled plus any others that I didn't need anymore. Two cider bottles recycled. Old gardening gloves binned. Garden swept. Weeds pulled up. Brambles cut back. Plants staked and pruned, where needed.
Swapped 700g of carrots, 7 courgettes, 1 cabbage and 4 stalks of rhubarb (from my garden) with my mum for a tub of Bramley apples, from my mum's tree.
Gave my aunt four books and a small pot of jam.
Gave my friend one courgette and eight apples.
With the apples I have stewed them all down. 3 lots of apple pur!e, one lot of stewed apple and blackberry ; one lot of apple and raspberry. Also made an apple and blackcurrant crumble that has now been decluttered into our stomachs.
Used up: face wash, face cream container.
Recycled: unwanted post and a pair of leggings.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons
