    Hi everyone,
I have been MIA for a while. It is a very busy time in the garden, picking berries. Also we have had three family birthdays over the past two weeks.
Have continued to declutter. Did a boot fair and made £60. Apart from one small box of stuff the rest has all gone- yay! Today, hubby and I took anything left to two local charity shops. I also have some books to a hospice charity, my mother and my brothers friend.

Finally, I gave my brother a bag full of rhubarb and my mother 3kg of gooseberries to use for jam. I have made four batches of strawberry jam, around 40+ Jam sized jars. I have kept 14 jam jars just in case we want to make another flavour of jam and have recycled all other jars.
Over the weekend, I am to catch up on all your posts.
    See you then.

Wednesday has been another warm day, but cloudier & the temperature plummeted after 8 p.m.
One thing I noticed when I received my MSE email is that our thread is OS thread of the week ;)
DH has been the busy one today :D He has repaired a section of the decking, watered the garden - twice, buffed up a silver plated money box (birthday present for a one year old), repotted our peanut plant & started laying the foam underlay in the hall & cloakroom. He also found time have a session on the static bike :rotfl: DSis went shopping & I went later. I cooked Snorkers (sausages), mash & baked beans. On my walk to the sm I saw 5 baby coots - they are far prettier than their parents - as they have reddish brown heads - very cute :) After posting I will resume knitting the baby blanket I started last night.

2103 - 2118 Nine bits of cardboard packaging, plastic bottle, 2 food cans, 3 empty beer cans (2 of them were so disgusting that they were emptied straight down the sink:() The 3rd one is just about drinkable, glass jar & metal lid - Recycled

2119 Bag of kitchen detritus - Binned

Well Done Getmeouttadebt :T decluttering plus earning lots of pennies :T

Welcome back chocolatelover93 :j Sorry to hear about your troubles but well done on the ‘big declutter’ :T The rest of the decluttering will be far easier in comparison ;)

    Well Done Wednesday2000 & choille :T

You have been busy parsniphead :T I do like that Tip runs are cathartic for you ;)

Now, now bit by bit :naughty: the strimmer definitely belongs on this thread because a potential piece of clutter has been made useful again :T

    See you all tomorrow :j:j

  • Evening everyone,
When the thread disappeared I had decluttered a large bag of stuff to the charity shop and a load of paperwork which I took to work to shred.
Yesterday I had a gardener here who decluttered lots of weeds and overhanging branches and hedgerow; as he was taking all this greenery to the tip he looked pointedly at the garden and said 'want me to take anything else while i'm going??' So I gave him a plastic tub full of random c**p which had been outside my French doors for over a year and was the soiled and rusty contents of the cupboard underneath my sink that i'd thrown outside after my kitchen tap leaked all over the cupboard below covering everything in foul smelling water! • Sorted a LOAD of old nighties and PJ's which made up 3 big bags and listed on Freecycle. One person responded but did not come but had a charity bag come so they will go outside front door on Monday for collection if no-one else gets in touch. Also had quite a few bras, some I am ashamed to say, never worn. I have had to start using easy wear ones as I can no longer reach around to do them up so its no good just hanging on to them so I have listed on Sh.. but no one has been in touch and at £3 for a new lacey 44+ size bra I do not think is outrageous, will keep them on there for a while, may try Eb.. later, if all else fails then will have to go to CS. Still working on freezers but not much sucess although have been making effort to use up herbs and spices so they are gradually reducing, it is better now I have a list of what is in cupboards to take with me when shopping so no duplicates. Not got round to freezer up to date lists yet - big job which keeps being a moving target.

26/52 - a big tub of expensive shower scrub used up at last. I've had it longer than I've been doing this challenge and this isn't my first year! its even moved house with me.

27/52 - 17 CDs to charity recycling bin.

28/52 - opted out of receiving junk mail from royal mail (i.e it must have our names on it) and I'm already seeing the difference.

    Hi

Mrs SD You're too kind but i am very slow at this but getting better since ive been on this wonderful site:T with your fabulous cheerleading and you lovely people
It has taken me YEARS for the lightbulb to ping as to why i have a clutter problem. that isnt improving. Firstly i used to only think it was ok to ged rid of stuff if it were broken or bin worthy. Its taken a log time to realise its ok to admit it was a bad purchase and hanging on to it won t change that just adds to the guilt:eek:
The other thing i realised is that i was just 'churning ' stuff round the house, it goes in the CS bag which goes to the car and drives round with me for a month then i peer inside have second thought and its back in garage to reconsider!! Thankfully i have stopped all that but it took me a long time to realise that thinking about all the stuff was happening a lot more than physical progress. Added to this i am hugeley sentimental:mad:. I also like to send things to people who need it which gets me onto my list nicely
