2019 - A Clutter Free Life

We had some relatives staying with us this weekend with a younger child than ours so we were able to pay on some useful items that we no longer need :
A car seat
A portable potty
Some waterproof bed covers
A big bag of toys and books
It's starting to get possible to successfully tidy up rather than just pile up the carp in another room as we're getting rid of more stuff. It's taken a while but I'm really starting to feel the benefits of this decluttering! I like my house again. There's still plenty to do but I can see the wood for the trees now.0 -
Back from the boot fair. Car very much emptier. It is amazing what people will buy. Back with only four boxes of books and two small bags of bits and bobs.
Will sort out a couple of bags for the cs. (Done)

I keep looking at various cordless stick vacuums but the are so expensive and would be a costly mistake if the are no good. Does anyone have have one? Are they worth the money. I love the thought of lightweight and not being tethered to the wall. I may even start to enjoy vacuuming.
Anyway time for breakfast and a bit of therapeutic throwing and recycling.
Have a fab day. X
I have a Dyson C6 (?) it's amazing. I also have a Gtech powered Ewbank style sweeper which is useful for a quick going over - well I say I but hubby does all the housework- except the cooking.

I have been going through our 'van stuff ready for our hols. I'm afraid nothing much to declutter there but it will all be put into the van until October. I have washed all my holiday clothes but I am umming and ahhing about few of them at present, so I have to make a decision as to whether to keep and wear, or cs . There is a pair of really short, short shorts  and they will definitely go into the cs pile as they were tried on and never actually worn. ( In hindsight I should have taken them back  )
I finally got DH to remove the packaging from the smellies he received at Xmas :j. The smellies are now ready for hols and the packaging put into the recycling. I've reciprocated by decluttering a wine bottle, the contents of which I finished off last night.
Right I'm off to make some decisions about those clothes !
Take care and happy decluttering !Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -

6. BE LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP - STICK TO ONE THING UNTIL YOU GET THERE
We got back yesterday having had a great time - even though the weather was mixed - cloud, rain, snow, sleet, hail, cold, sunshine & wind  Nice to see old friends, plenty of beer, mostly excellent food. DH & I had intended to stop off for a pub lunch but it was freezing when we got into Dover so straight home. DSis had been busy whilst we were away - she has painted the cloakroom & our small entranceway 1st coat ceiling, walls & woodwork including doors. Today she has put the 2nd coat on the ceiling. She also scrubbed the kitchen floor & cooked us a roast lamb dinner :T:D:T .
Today DH has mowed the front lawn, trimmed the hedge, mended his sat nav, filled the bird feeders & is now rubbing down four bannister posts which came loose.
I have emptied our luggage bags, put everything away & am on the 3rd load of washing. First 2 loads are on the whirligig. Have also done a bit of dusting - and I do mean a bit :rotfl:

Been watching this thread from afar for a few months.
I've slowly been working through the flat working on decluttering. Today I had a big go at the bedroom and have managed to get 4 bin bags stuffed for the charity shop, a further 2 for the bin, 1 for ebay and a carrier bag for Smalls for All.
Feeling positive and hoping to get some bits done in the spare room, which is used as a study/sewing room/dressing room over the next few days.0
