Been over 10 years since I re-cluttered from Mum's home and have been trying to sell/donate/give away ever since. So emotional, and there are things I love but would either never use or put on show in my house so they have to go. Very hard but working on it.0

Afternoon fellow declutterers
I've been decluttering the dust and sorting out the leftover stuff from the Easter weekend. Some of the things haven't been opened, Prin*les and cheese crackers etc so I have deposited into my upstairs storecupboard..... ok it's the bottom half of DD's old wardrobe really :rotfl:. Lots of stuff re-homed and the packaging put in the appropriate recycling bags/bins. Some old paperwork/leaflets have been sorted too and either kept or binned.
DH has taken my sewing table apart because the castors are not turning properly. He's in his shed trying to adapt the table to take some heavy duty castors ( and the old castors are not coming back in the house) This afternoon I shall take the opportunity to sort out the odds and ends from the shelf under the table and I'm sure there will be something to declutter if I try hard enough :rotfl:.
Take care and hugs to anyone who needs or wants one.... or more

Huge amounts of decluttering done for my mum. My dad’s old office is now useable after my brother and I moved furniture around. All the stuff that came out of the attic has now been sorted out and either put away, put in the pile for the tip or boxed up for the CS. My brother has taken some stuff and i’m taking a few bits.
My mum can’t manage the tip on her own, but has a handyman who will go with her and unload while she drives round. He’s currently here doing some repairs and having a bonfire. With an aging population I think there will be more and more demand for this kind of help.
Her big freezer has had the odd tantrum recently, so she’s going to run it down and order a replacement when it’s empty. I’ve been sticking to soup (of which there is a lot in the freezer) and smoothies (using up frozen fruit). Sadly the donor site for my graft is objecting to cold food this time so i’m currently unable to help with the disposal of ice cream!0 -
70-77 neutral items shipped out. One was a difficult shape and I've had trouble finding a box for it until a delivery this morning. A couple of hours later and item with others was all packed up and has been sent
*178 packaging for the above
*179 a massive amount of cardboard put out for recycling.
Hopefully will get to CS tomorrow to get items out of the houseDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good evening everyone, I have been MIA as I have been on holiday. Have been On a tour of Japan. It was a fabulous. We had a superb time.
Managed to get hubby to bin all unnecessary paper / plastic at the hotel before we arrived home so that it didn't come back with us.
Recycled all unwanted mail ( not too much considering we had been away for nearly three weeks).
Used up: hair treatment, shower gel x 2 and face cream
Changed tooth brush head - discarded.
Four books left on plane / in hotels
Slowly but surely will now read past three weeks posts.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

3 sacks of complete rubbish taken to the tip - OH's work not mine. He's going at the declutter with gusto in the shed. We have to get rid of stuff in there to get some stuff out of the house so he's really going for it.0

1. SMALL TASKS WILL BE DONE ASAP
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
3. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
4. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
5. IF I WAS STARTING FROM SCRATCH, WOULD I BUY THIS?
6. BE LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP - STICK TO ONE THING UNTIL YOU GET THERE
Thursday promised rain - the garden needs itbut no rain just some sunshine & very windy. DH met old colleagues for lunchtime drinks & ended up coming home worse for wear 8 hours later
I made him fish finger sandwiches & now he has gone to bed
No ‘Under Stairs Cupboard of Doom’
however I did empty, clean & sort the rest of the kitchen drawers - a lot neater & better organised
Plus it really didn’t take as long as I thought it would :rotfl: Surprising how often I can make a mountain out of a molehill
you would have thought I would have learned by now
. Basically a lazy day all round
1165 - 1168 One drinks can, cardboard packaging, newspaper, glass jar & metal lid - Recycled
1169 - 1170 Wooden spoon, 3 bottle corks (crafting) - CS
Roxie, I fully agree with Daisy - keep plugging away & with any luck other family members will join in spontaneously. One little tip I would offer is that when your dining room is decluttered, advise your family that anything they ‘dump’ in there will be binned :rotfl: Sounds harsh, but it will protect your sanity :rotfl: Your family will realise you are serious about decluttering & it might give them a not so gentle nudge to be tidier. You have made an excellent start with the storage boxes & the back door tidy :T
Excellent advice Daisy :T
whmf00001, it is always the emotional stuff that is the hardest to declutter. Please know that you are not alone and I am sending you encouraging vibes
Well Done nannywindow :T sounds like you have been busyKeeping DH busy as well - I fully approve :rotfl:
Well Done greenbee :T Think how much space you will have when you have the CS pile collected or you deliver to CS
Well Done Happy Kitties & Barny1979 :T
Nice to have you back Gem-gemWhat a wonderful sounding holiday - do you and/or your DH speak Japanese? Being really nosey
, did you get on the Bullet Train? Really well done on not bringing clutter home :T
See you all tomorrow my fellow declutterers
