Just a quick check-in for motivation. Still trying to maintain something extra out every day this month, apart from when I'm away, when I'll try to get rid of extra in advance.

I'll get the calendars and things like that ready today, to put in the recycling bin once it's been emptied tomorrow. (My neighbours with kids have borrowed some of my capacity, so it's full to bursting at the moment) Will also check on gift-bags and things, I was about to say in order to keep and re-use the good ones, but I'm going to recycle them, as I now use tea-towels and other such things to wrap presents, so won't use special paper any more. Tonight I'll be in, so will do some crochet! partly to reduce stash, and partly to unwind and meditate.

Feeling a bit low on energy, but I know that keeping on keeping on feels better than leaving it for another day, and every scrap out is one less in.

Well I was out this morning

When I got home my kitchen sides were full of things hubby thought did not need to be packing

On the list 4 of my expensive cake tins when I pick them up he asked when I last used them they are my Christmas cake tins
4 silicone microwave bits well they are used at lunch times he never sees that as he has only just retired
Two old mixing bowls, one was my grand mothers

So out if the many many things I managed to let go of 1/4 that is good but the others I do use

He has now wrapped and packed what I want to keep put other stuff out for charity shop, I have got to the point I can't be bothered to sell it, I know I should but don't gave the energy

So out today from one kitchen cupboard 29
    Emergency fund £10,000
    Several categories with savings in
    Cars, house maintenance, birthdays
Etc I have about 10 categories

Really happy to be debt free after being a compulsive spender

    The motivation is currently STRONG!

Listed a 20 recipe book bundle and another set of 3 for selling.
Also made 6 listings on Freecycle:
    Lifestyle/Home remedy books
    Chicken keeping books
    Roller skates
    Kids bike
    Misc kitchen items
    Nat Geo magazines.

Also found another 6 items in my 'writing bureau' to go to charity.
Another goal is to clear that out so much that it in itself can be donated. Its a glorified storage area.

ETA - Just listed my 8in1 cooker for sale too.
I will triumph over the gumph!

    Decluttered today were
18 Books to the charity shop
One bag of assorted belongings from the spare room and DDs room to the charity shop, there were also books in that bag but I don't know how many because she bagged it up
I'm walking round my house seeing things that I know I'm going to get rid of all the time,so I should manage to clear quite a lot of things I don't want anymore
    Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,120
  • Wow, such fantastic progress on here from everyone, it’s inspiring!

My five minutes minimum a day is going well. I’ve gone through 2 recipe binders and culled a huge pile. I now want to make some of the interesting ones left and pop them into my recipe app Paprika if they are ones I want to do again in future.

The one word resolution resonates with me a tonne.
My word for this year is 'heal' so the 'broken areas of my life are getting some much needed attention rather than a cheap plaster that doesn't even stick :rotfl:

I spend so much more time indoors these days (health needs healing too) so the space I'm in, I feel needs to be conducive to that. So whilst I'm waiting on healthcare appointments etc, I can heal the house...

23 books listed in two job lots on FB selling, and another pile of 15 for charity, plus 1 dvd and 1 PC game for donation too. I'll give the selling stuff till the end of the weekend and if its not sold, will donate.

Sending healing thoughts your way :grouphug: My logic is that one word even sounds less cluttered than several, - more achievable........ well, hoping so, anyway...... xx

A decluttered approach to resolutions - I love that even more!!!

DS is quite happy as he was allowed to be in charged of 'The Shredder' as I pulled my paperwork box and was ruthless with that too. So a double win in decluttering the paperwork (Which has filled as recycling bag with shreddies) and ASD/ADHD pleasing activity - he says he wants more :rotfl:

Remember not to be too hard on yourself too! Any gone is more than none gone :)

I'm doing the penny jar thing too, sort of.... I muddle mine up a bit because I know certain times of year (Dec, Jan, May, August) I have more money so I've moved the higher numbers to those months, and kept the low numbers for Sept - Nov as I know money is always super tight around then. I'm an artist so regular pay is not a thing I know

    Thanks for your kind words!

The mixing up some of the days in the penny jar is a good idea, i might do this once a week for some of the higher days come December, or during holidays.... :)

Feeling duly ashamed by the drawers of hell, I have emptied them all, sorted a put-away pile (summer and nicer clothes, that I wear very rarely but are for smarter things). I have cleared old clothes for recycling and charity shop. Ok, they are still on the floor but I walked away for a celebratory cup of tea. Next, I need to go back and sort shoes. I hoard shoes. I love shoes. This will be a challenge but am up for it!

I just got home and my husband was unpacking the shopping and the kitchen looked like a bomb went off.

Grr, all the recycling has now gone out and I made the kitchen back to how it was before.

I am giving some porridge oats to the wild birds today.

Note to self - stop buying porridge oats as you clearly don't like it!:rotfl:

    OOD olives also gone.

I was watching the Marie Kondo show last night and looking around my house during breaks to see what else can go. I have a lot of "extra" toiletries that I need to start going through.
