I'd like to join in again please. I feel progress was made in 2018 but still a long, long way to go! I'd like to go for another 52 things/bundle of things.

I'd particularly like to finish my DVD clear out.

Today I decluttered the last of the xmas pudding :D. I also bought 2 new T. shirts in the M&S sale but I will throw out at least 2 old ones that are now really only fit for rags, however my rag bag is also full so out they will go into the rubbish bin. ( unless someone has a good idea of using them up ?). I nearly bought another coat in the sale too, but I resisted the temptation as I already have several coats..... I was quite proud of myself :j.

Tomorrow I shall tackle the office of doom and my book shelves. I admit the books are going to be difficult, as I love books, but I must be ruthless.

  • Hello everyone!

Sorted through 5 drawers in the bedroom and a cupboard in the kitchen!

    23-24 - 2 pairs of old knickers
    25-26 - Some old boxes

I decluttered my car today as well, there must have been about 20 cans of drink in there :eek:

Watched all of the Marie Kondo show on NF and the drawers I sorted out have folded my clothes back in there how she does it. They look so much better!! And I can see everything so can choose what I want to wear so much easier.

Successful day today, sorted quite a bit out and got rid of 28 of my 27 things to sort. Having said that, threw out 9 coathangers but counted it as one "job lot", threw out a few pairs of pants, again counted it as one job. Ive parcelled several pairs of brand new pants that dont fit,( such a pain in the butt when you buy a three pack and cant return them...) and a brand new Charnos bra the same, to go to ladies in Africa, again, counted as one job lot, so i feel like i am making strides forward, although some of it is just putting stuff away.

Since i moved house, some stuff is still in the wrong place, so i do need to go through loads of draws and decide what to do with it or where to keep anything i am not ready to part with, ive got some great vintage stuff from mom and dads going back to 50's and 60's, but cant make use of using it til the junks gone, - or, - is that the junk???? I dont know yet............

    Well done everyone surging forwards.......

    gp xx

The rewards of getting this right are massive. We just moved house on 21st Dec, so picked up a tiny (real) Christmas tree in Lidl for £5.99, some fairy lights, baubles & a string of coloured lights for the fireplace all for pence reduced as it was so late. The house looked cosy & felt festive, and the bonus is that it took me 5 mins to take them down this evening and everything has fitted into a tiny storage box ready for next year! So chuffed & definitely will not be adding to the collection.

I think the pleasant surprise was that despite it being very minimal and thrown together, this gave me just as much joy as if I had gone out and bought a shed load of stuff and spent lots.

    Happy days!

I found you! I'd like to join in please... no set number (I always overface myself) but I'll try to post totals and ramble on as I do so because you people will know that if all I get rid of is one faded receipt, it's a step in the right direction.

Today it was 11 receipts and three rolls of reclaimed wrapping paper that were gathering dust. All in the recycling now.

    Onwards and upwards.

Yippee, the thread I started is mentioned under the Quickies heading as ‘thread of the week’ in this week’s newsletter - fame at last :rotfl:

Today I have been very lazy :o did sort the bottom of the wardrobe - shoes are now tidy but nothing to donate or bin :(
The rest of the day has been spent binge watching the last ever series of The Last Ship. What a massive disappointment :( but I had watched the previous 4 series, so felt it would be rude to miss the last series :rotfl:

Lo roast beef etc for dinner. Nothing for freezer, a few slices of beef for a sandwich for DH & a small amount of veg to start off a stew.

Had a couple of deliveries so

16 &17 Two large cardboard boxes dismantled & recycled

So many of us on the bandwagon - four carriages long now :rotfl:
A massive welcome to our newbies & a big welcome back to last year’s posters :T

IrishRose, maybe the cs had so many offers of donations that your offer slipped through the cracks. I know you want the 8 bags gone (by the way Well Done :T :T) but it might be worth a 2nd call - use your very best ‘disappointed voice’ - I wish you luck :)

Nice to see you retiredinfrance :D - we are both off to a slow start but slow & steady wins the race :D or so I keep telling myself :rotfl:

Welcome Cherryfudge :hello: every single item out is a win :T You will find plenty of motivation here but please remember we all have ‘off’ days & you must NOT beat yourself up :D. In a way it is like dieting, just dust yourself off & start again :D

    See you all tomorrow

  • While putting away some Christmas stuff yesterday, I thought I'd tidy the top shelf of the wardrobe, and managed to declutter 2 decorative glass boxes for CS,and 2 notebooks which I'll use for shopping lists.

Another wardrobe yielded a cardigan for the CS,and a top I haven't worn for ages. This top is too low cut for me, but if I put anything under it, it's too warm, so I'm finally giving up on it.
A couple of Christmas decorations that didn't get used this year have gone in the bag as well.

    That's a start anyway!!
