Morning everyone!
Only managed to declutter a few things between 29 Dec and 1 Jan, such as OOD medicines, some receipts, didn't count any of it (doing 2019 in 2019), but starting counting from today. It's WI tonight, and one of our activities is making tags from old cards. Lots of the folk don't even keep their cards until today, so most of mine will be going out the door with me tonight, about 20!
MrsSD, I've copied your list, will print it out in a minute - one copy for the 'fridge, one copy for upstairs, with the addition of GinMonster and DundeeDoll's comments. Our home has been so full of carp for MANY years - I'm certain that a big chunk of my MH problems stem from it!
For years, I've entertained the thought of happily taking a flame thrower to the entire insides of our house, and start again from scratch and it seems I'm not the only one wishing for that! :rotfl:
Plan for today:
Declutter fridge/freezer in kitchen - sneaking suspicion that there are quite a few UFOs in the freezer that will need decluttering into the bin...
Christmas cards to WI, bar family ones.
Sort through all our clothes for CS-suitable items (or for the bin!) - this is a huge task so will take a few days.

Please may I join, really need this to keep me motivated, already starting to feel overwhelmed, when I know really all I need to do is keep chipping away at little areas and the bigger picture will come together.
2018 was the year I was going to become clutter free, got rid of around a thousand items and gave up, but that's a thousand never have to see again. I'm going to do it this year.... determined! House is what I would call superficially tidy until I open cupboards!!! I know I feel so much better when spaces begin to appear, the junk leaves the house or things have there place and organised. Right time to get started... 2019 items in 2019!Annual GC £3000- £2600

17 magazines sent for recycling.
Not entirely sure why I kept them, especially as I get most of my gardening tips from the Internet
Know what you mean - I'm the same with recipe magazines can't resist a free supermarket mag, and then it never leaves, with perhaps one recipe having been made once!Couldsavemore wrote: »I fear I may need help... Morning all! I'm pretty sure i posted to sign up on this last year because ive spent my whole life telling myself i ought to declutter lol, and never "find the time". I downsized home just over a year ago but i still feel like i am drowning in stuff
, - cant resist a bargain, some of which i resell on fb, which i dont mind, but its the other stuff i just cant let go of.
Anyway, my new years resolution, one word, - declutter, and i have been working to the 27 fling boogie, ie, 27 items day day, 9855 in the year!!! Im not counting general day to day rubbish, but i am counting everything i throw away, give away or put away. Ive started a notebook which is in the kitchen and write in what ive got rid of. Day one i was 23 items behind ( but i counted things like outdoor decorations as one, and all the christmas cards as one, etc) but as i worked on the first and the second day im forgiving myself but carrying forward the deficit. Yesterday i flung all 27 items so im still carrying the 23 items forward as deficit. Day off work today so intend to go through my drawers and wardrobe, so should catch up.
Im also doing the putting away a penny for each day of the year so have a pretty jar i put 1p in on 1st, 2p in yesterday and 3p today, should net me a nice little nest egg if i get to the end of the year, and i'd rather the jar on my shelf than the crud i have chucked away off it......
Im not imagining posting on here every day as i spend farrrr too long on the net without encouraging myself to sign on more, lololol but i will keep in touch

The one word resolution resonates with me a tonne.
My word for this year is 'heal' so the 'broken areas of my life are getting some much needed attention rather than a cheap plaster that doesn't even stick :rotfl:
I spend so much more time indoors these days (health needs healing too) so the space I'm in, I feel needs to be conducive to that. So whilst I'm waiting on healthcare appointments etc, I can heal the house...
23 books listed in two job lots on FB selling, and another pile of 15 for charity, plus 1 dvd and 1 PC game for donation too. I'll give the selling stuff till the end of the weekend and if its not sold, will donate.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Remember not to be too hard on yourself too! Any gone is more than none gone
I'm doing the penny jar thing too, sort of.... I muddle mine up a bit because I know certain times of year (Dec, Jan, May, August) I have more money so I've moved the higher numbers to those months, and kept the low numbers for Sept - Nov as I know money is always super tight around then. I'm an artist so regular pay is not a thing I know haha.
..............
I didn't finish my clothes last night, and I'm finding it really hard to get started today
I think it's because I have a PJ pile staring at me and I'm not sure where they can live. Anyway lunch then battle on!anything's possible if you've got enough nerve

Hello, I have never joined a forum before but this one calls to something very deep inside. I am moving to France in March with my husband following later and I am determined that the embarrassing amount of stuff we own is NOT moving with us. We have 3 garages bursting at the seams and an entire 3rd floor full of stuff from when the kids left home, kept "Just in case". I need to get past this....0

Hi, not had much chance to get decluttering but did manage to empty out the chest freezer and get rid of some items and also work out what I need to use up. I have also managed to declutter one alcove where all sorts of things had begun to be stacked up. Next is my drawer with all my tops in. This drawer is so full I take a deep breath before attempting to open or close it!0
