...I looked around the house and realised it needed some attention.

I wish I had an answer to that one - I spend loads of time decluttering, then realise the house is a mess, tidy the house and realise the garden is a mess, spend a day in the garden and realise I've been neglecting the house again...too many jobs, too little "spare" time to do them

:rotfl: Too true Greenqueen. I never undeŕstand that I can spend ages dusting and vacuuming, then it needs doing again another day. Just rude if you ask me.:rotfl:

I have been very naughty - I did not do the washing up before I went to bed last night :o & to be even naughtier I only got up at 11:45  I have left the washing up for the moment & go into the kitchen every 10 minutes to remind myself of the sinking feeling I get when it is not done :rotfl: However I have rebrined my home grown Olives & the jar is back in the shed for another month. I have also refilled the coffee & tea bag jars & the sugar bowl.
It is overcast & chilly today :( I probably missed the sunshine :rotfl: Having my 1st cuppa & then need to do a small sm shop while DH puts the 1st coat of blue paint on the prepared section of garage floor. Then up into loft. After that who knows :rotfl:
However we do need to pack for a weekend away - a friend’s 60th - meal out & then Sunday a poodle around - coming home Monday. Just hope the weather is kind as we are on the motorbike :D

    Cheerleading starts here :D

You are just getting greedy now oceanspirit as I must give you another Gold Star ⭐️ :rotfl: Taking the opportunity & being brave enough to explain your situation & being lucky to have a thoughtful then amenable rellie. You should be very proud of yourself :T

Now don’t you go tiring yourself out parsniphead ;) You must remember that the more you declutter the easier it is to clean, clear & tidy :D Good luck with your hospital appointment.
By the way congrats on getting PIP :T - nice to be able to eat :rotfl: Your response to GreenQueen did make me laugh

Now, now GreenQueen ;) you sound like a perfectionist ;) Of course, the less clutter you have the more you notice that cleaning, dusting, tidying & vacuuming need doing :rotfl: Catch 22 :rotfl:

Got distracted :p Washing up done & put away, two half loaves of bread chopped up for croutons for freezer & kitchen work surfaces washed down :j

Will report in later my fellow declutterers :D

So pleased the PIP came through for you parsniphead :j :j XX
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • We have had a flurry of activity. I walked to sm past the docks & was rewarded with a sighting of the cormorant :D However my pleasure was short lived as the crested grebes appear to have been evicted from their nest, by the coots  A very small shop & then walked back - a solitary grebe making really pitiful noises - it almost broke my heart :(
Whilst I was out DH painted another section of garage floor, swapped over two door handles & made the 2nd required repair of the dining room table. Now we just need to give it some tlc with lots of polish & scratch repair. It WILL BE restored to its former glory :p

813 - 814 Two sets of door handles - Tip bag

Keep up the good work Wednesday2000 :T

    See you later 👋

How have I missed this thread? Lol probably because I can't see past our clutter :o

I will try and join in here if you don't mind as we are on a mission this year! The poor house has suffered very badly from many people coming and going here....but leaving a LOT of their rubbish behind!!!! It's ridiculous when you find things that aren't yours or you have no idea where it's arrived from.

Definitely have 2019 items to be decluttered lol, and need to chip away at it weekly. I actually had some much needed rare help last month so have made a start. The bathroom has just been ripped out and renovated so that generated some clutter leaving in a skip :T
Then I had an inspection which resulted in a big shift of clutter :j and then 7 pushbikes were taken by somebody randomly without asking.....but in effect did us a favour although I was going to keep one of them! :(

I reckon I could resonably start off from number 50 with the amount that was shifted out over the last 2 months - that okay with everyone??

Mrs sd I thought of you today! :hello:

I'm helping a friend clear a huuuuuuuge garage of Stuff collected over 30 years and we are getting to the stage where we can see some floor in places ! Yay. Anyway I was there this morning and started clearing stuff in one place but on my way to the buckets or the scrap metal pile I would get distracted by another pile and start sorting that stuff then again then I was getting called over to where her young son was clearing but needed help with deciding where every flipping second item was to go so kept wanting advice on whether something was rubbish, car boot, auto jumble, scrap metal or other and ended up fiddling about near there sorting stuff. Anyway I was getting fed up not seeing progress so had a stern word with myself to stick to one area at a time. I went all postage stamp and stuck to one area and by the end I felt I could see the difference in that small area. :T:T:T

    Cheers me dear

Well Done daisy :T You get a Gold Star ⭐️ & not just for thinking of me :rotfl: Helping a friend to declutter - :A & then finally becoming a postage stamp :rotfl: It is sooo easy to get distracted, especially if the new pile of clutter looks more interesting :rotfl: Is your friend being brutal in the Decluttering Task? & are you finding it easier to declutter your friend’s clutter rather than your own? Please do not forget I am a nosey c*w :rotfl:

    See you tomorrow
