*154 brand new smellie set that DD and myself can't use-- CS
*155 shin pads (couldn't believe I found these. Worked out 5 years they've been sat in the cupboard,
    hardly used)-CS
    *156 gum shield-bin

I really need to get into that cupboard more but limited until decorating done. It is really going to get sorted along with the back cupboard-one of this years aims

Sorry to thread hog today, I'm just trying to keep motivated.

The spare bedroom is cleared but I now have masses in my room to go through and decide what to keep and what to donate/chuck.

This is such a difficult task and the more I do the more areas I see which need doing. It's never ending.

Yesterday I wrote, addressed, noted posting dates & weighed the birthday cards for August, September & October :T Next month will see me doing the same for November, December & January 2020 :j No chance of forgetting anyone’s birthday :rotfl: & less stressful doing it all over a 4 month period :j
I admire your preparedness, this is an excellent idea! I have often done something similar with eBay items that i'm putting up for sale. Photograph and list them all then pack them and put a sticky note with which item is inside. Then as each one sells I can just print out the postage label, slap it on and off it goes.

Well Done no logo :T still moving stuff out :T Sadly not from a military family :( but was interested in joining up (for a while) & also dated a squaddie for a while :rotfl: Perhaps I might not have acquired so much clutter :rotfl:
I was interested for a while too but to be honest I got my share of moving about as a kid, I think I've had enough of that for one lifetime :rotfl:

For everyone else: you are all doing brilliantly! This thread is a great motivator for me now and becoming a part of my evening routine :D

    Decluttered
    3. sold an old laptop on eBay
    4. threw away a bunch of rubbish from the dreaded toiletries containers

    Decluttering starts in earnest tomorrow...

Tuesday has been fairly nice weather wise -dry with some sunshine but still a bit chilly & occasionally breezy - although not nearly as strong as it has been :)
Today DH put the 2nd coat on the section of the garage floor that he started yesterday :T Rest of the day he was in his office planning routes etc for ‘The Round Britain Rally’ that he does each year. I decided to sort some of my DSis’s paperwork & then moved on to some of my own. Am also moving furniture & vacuuming properly - but only a section at a time. Rather happy with the time spent on my paperwork as it was sentimental stuff e.g. birthday, anniversary, retirement cards etc Of the pile I tackled I disposed of 90% :T Go me :j

791 - 797 Uu small glass jar, metal lid, cardboard packaging, can (after drinking the beer ), 2” pile of paper, large bag of recycling from DH - Recycled
    798 - 801 Two small bags of rubbish - 1 from DH, 2” of shredding - Binned
802 Small bag of card crafting bits - CS bag

Might not have done an enormous amount of decluttering but I am strangely satisfied :p

    Cheerleading starts here :D

Gold Star ⭐️ for you greenbee - Well Done :T You have worked hard and your reward is the space you need to start a project :rotfl:

choille you are more than welcome :D. Nice to know that every little bit out lightens the ‘oppression of clutter’

Gold Star ⭐️ to you too parsniphead - Well Done on a great start in the spare room :T You also get a 2nd Gold Star ⭐️ for sharing “I've always struggled throwing away DS's stuff as I get too sentimental but those blinkers dropped away today faced with the massive pile of toys going back to birth. He is seven now.....it's a big pile and not all of his toys, just the ones dumped in the spare room. ......................I must admit it feels so good going through this process. Frustrating and difficult but good. I'm determined to never again get into this mess. I can only imagine how calm my home will feel when done and how much extra time I will have”. YOU ARE DOING REALLY WELL PARSNIPHEAD :T:T:T Number 6 above should prove useful :rotfl: - I do find it difficult as I am like you - the more I declutter, the more I see that needs decluttering. Please know that we are ‘all in this together’ - DECLUTTERERS UNITED :T:T:T

Welcome back notmy1sttime :T Nice to know that the decluttering continues :T Posting as & when RL & decluttering permit :rotfl: We are all here to offer encouragement when it gets overwhelming :D remember it is like eating the elephant :rotfl: a small bit at a time :rotfl:

Well Done chupachups4 :T still adding to your travel pots :T & even more pennies :T

My decluttering is on hold this week as I have yet another chest infection (I have a chronic illness so not a surprise but disappointing as I had one in January) and I have 2 weeks of antibiotics.

However, I'm trying hard to at least keep on top of things. I have A LOT of medication each month so I decanted it into some storage boxes and recycled the cardboard and leaflets. Also keeping on top of the kitchen cleaning and properly folding the clothes.

Mostly though I am decluttering the bugs from my sinuses and lungs. :D

Well done everyone! Some amazing progress being made.

It's lovely to read of all the clutter leaving everyone's homes. I can feel the mood lifting all round.

parsniphead the number of items in your home grew over a number of years. The important thing is that you are now getting into a habit of clearing them out and hopefully not bringing any more in than is necessary. Eventually you will reach a point whereby your home looks and feels brighter and clearer. For now, you are where you are and that is tackling it all.

I've been working on my place for years as living with chronic fatigue (along with a number of other conditions) means that I can only do a little at a time. But that little at a time has produced results and made my life a great deal easier.

Keep at it, you have already cleared out mountains in a short space of time and you are very focussed on dealing with it. Those areas that you are noticing will soon be done and there will be no more areas to notice because there aren't any!

Had a good day tackling my most difficult decluttering subject - paperwork. I don't find it easy to get rid of "useful information" so I was very pleased to have cleared out 25 items into recycling or shredding. That's a big win for me. I may not be able to do such a large amount today but will have a go at a few.

    9 more papers gone.

Worked out that to reach the 2019 target, 6.66 items need to go per day from now on. It seems much more manageable than originally thought.
