Evening all, car boot was cancelled today as venue was double booked! So, I decided to donate a couple of books to our local MIND shop. Me and our 7yr old daughter went to our monthly dads group meeting this afternoon and donated some board books to them. The Gruffalo book came in handy at story time, all the children liked it. So my decluttering conscience is in a good place at this moment with these small donations. Will try again to do some attic decluttering in the week and hopefully a car boot next Sunday. All the best for the week ahead...0

Ah very good, Mrs SD, you'd put Mr Holmes to shame! I do indeed and i'm going to take a guess that the fact that you were able to spot that means that you do to?

Morning all.
A very quick update from me. I made good progress in the spare bedroom on Saturday, even with DS in tow. It was more tidying than decluttering. I will be decluttering today after shopping. I have some broken toys to sort but DS won't let me throw stuff out so it needs to be done with him at school.

At 781 items out you're not far off the halfway mark and yet we're no where near halfway through the year. I think :T is more like it.All sounds odd and varied but every little helps to de-clutter mind !!!!
Am so with you on this one. Clutter in the mind is just as debilitating, if not more so, than physical clutter. I'm definitely working on both.chocolatelover93 wrote: »Have also been leaving a room tidier than when I left it which is nice because the house actually stays tidy! Have been putting bits in the dishwasher after use so they aren't clogging up the sides too. Just these small things has helped my mental health too.
Great results all round, chocolatelover.
I always try to leave the kitchen clean and tidy at the end of each day - dirty dishes and mucky worktops are not welcoming first thing in the morning.
Been chipping away at all rooms over the weekend. Found a pile of papers under a heap of clothes in the bedroom - most of them were for filing so managed to put them away quite quickly and recycle those not needing to be kept. Although only small amounts leaving, the whole place feels so much better. A few things each day is still working for me so I will continue to work at this speed.
5 items into recycling and 1 book to CS.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Took a cardi, 3 books and a handbag to a different CS today. I found 2 near town centre where I can park (usually) while I nip in. Most of them are in the main town centre which is car free until later in afternoon or although not far from parking - I can park for free in local council sites as disabled - they are just too far to walk. So pleased as no-one collected from Freecycle and was loathe to take to the tip.0
