Been a bit lacking in motivation but I did sort all the stuff for the charity shop so that's ready to go and DD needed fabric for a school project so a t shirt that no longer fits went.
We've had some bad luck today! We donated the spare TV to the charity shop a few weeks ago as we had a "new" TV and today it broke! Looked up the issue online and depressingly, as the TV is only 1yr 3months old, it seems to be a common problem that costs almost as much to fix as buying a new TV. It would appear we bought from a very unreliable company. We could argue that we should get a partial refund but I don't think it's worth the stress.
So the weekend will be spent buying a new TV and this time we're getting a well known brand.
For future decluttering purposes, I have signed up to Splosh (you reuse the same bottles and just order refills for laundry detergent, washing up liquid etc) so my cleaning cupboard will eventually be much smaller. I've also ordered some Modibodi pants to see if I can stop buying sanitary products. Expensive but much better for the environment and one less thing to store!Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

Only had a mild cold, thanks to your healthy hugs and healing vibes, Nannywindow. :A
Decluttering: Several out-of-date packets of chopped/ sliced nuts from a kitchen cupboard. Several out-of-date bottles of health supplements from a cubby hole in the 'hall of shame'. One ancient pack of Dylon dye. All binned.
A bagful of paper and card to the communal recycling point. Two large bagfuls of textiles to the recycling bank at the local supermarket. These have been tripping me up for one and three weeks respectively, because both facilities were full to the brim on my last visit.
Two large bagfuls of household items from the 'Tardis of Doom' and the 'Hall of Shame' to the charity shop. Most were survivors of earlier culls so I am relieved to have been ready to humanely dispatch them today.
Recluttering: Ex/ friend released from hospital again on Monday.
Two tins of discontinued - so heavily discounted - Wilko Best emulsion paint shoehorned into the 'Tardis of Doom'. Went to the store to buy a paint stirring stick and a springform cake tin.
A bagful of fitness DVDs shoehorned into the 'Tardis of Doom' to make way for my next DIY project (painting shelves as a trial run for the kitchen cabinets).
DIY Project: First shelf taken off the wall, cleaned with sugar soap and universal degreaser, rinsed and dried. Hoped to progress today, but I have been feeling nauseous, anxious/ panicky, overwhelmed the last couple of days.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Morning all.
I'm back on the decluttering bandwagon this morning. I'm heading back into the room of hell , the front room.:eek::eek:. If I can get this room sorted I can get anything sorted. :rotfl:
I do need to look at things sensibly an use the 'what would you do if it belonged to someone else' rule. I wish I wasn't so sentimental though.
Right now do I go loud, raucous music or D@ve Ramsey while I work. Hmmmm noisy mood I think.
Have a fab day everyone.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

1. SMALL TASKS WILL BE DONE ASAP
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
3. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
4. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
5. IF I WAS STARTING FROM SCRATCH, WOULD I BUY THIS?
6. BE LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP - STICK TO ONE THING UNTIL YOU GET THERE
Very lazy getting up today - but actually slept right through so must have needed itI did go to the sm yesterday & I rearranged both freezers :T Still Need to list the contents but now have all raw ingredients in kitchen freezer & all ready meals hm & sm in the garage freezer :T DH decided not to go into the garage but he did do a bit of gardening :T He repotted all the bulbs we planted & every single bulb has sprouted :j:j The rhubarb plant that was donated by DH’s Dbil is growing strongly & we will be harvesting in the next couple of days :T We are hoping that we can get another couple of plants as we do love our rhubarb & we are the only ones who do :rotfl:
Today’s plans are fluid - a bit of housework, some garage tidying & maybe some cleaning :rotfl:
Have binned a pair of my socks which were beyond redemption
747 Socks binned
So a mug of coffee, a bowl of hm soup & then get our ‘arrises in gear :rotfl:
Well Done Barny1979 :T heading to 300 :T
Well Done Happy Kitties :T through the 150 mark & heading to 200You must be so pleased that your neutral items are nearly all gone
Well Done Gem-gem :T Stopping clutter coming in is a major triumph :T keep up the excellent work :T
Sounds wonderful nannywindowI grew up in the 60’s & it was a wonderful time
. Gold Star ⭐️ for the office tidying & the ‘gentle persuasion’ brought to bear on your DH :rotfl: I hope you managed to escape the ‘walk in cupboard’ :rotfl: & did you lose the rest of your marbles :rotfl: or did you find the paint
Well Done short_bird :T you should count it as 2 - the sugar & the jar :rotfl:
Thanks no logo :T It is interesting how our life experiences colour our attitudes to clutterBeing a curious sort aka nosey c*w :rotfl: do you come from a military family?
Well Done chupachups4 :T nice result on the selling - you are definitely building up your travel pots
Nice to see you Daisy 1571
If the decluttering & the planning of future decluttering is anything to go by ‘lacking motivation’ is not a hindranceJust think how much you will get done when your motivation returns :rotfl:
Well Done milasavesmoney :T Paperwork seems to be the bane of everyone’s existenceIt seems no matter how much we get rid of there is more lurking
Well Done Fire Fox :T You deserve a Gold Star ⭐️ for decluttering so much that had survived earlier culls :T You are definitely infected with the ‘Decluttering Bug’ Sending you lots of gentle (((hugs))) to hopefully overcome the nausea, anxious & panicky feelings. Good luck with your DIY project
Sorry to hear that you have been unwell A Frayed KnotShame about the food
but better safe than sorry 😐 You seem to be back on the Decluttering Bandwagon with a vengeance now :T. Good use of the room of doom as a staging area :T especially as you are clearing your bedroom :T
Good luck 😉 parsnipheadLoud raucous music is definitely the way to go - should drown out the sentimental vibes :rotfl: The room of hell sounds daunting BUT I have every faith that you will succeed in your decluttering mission
:D Re the sentimental items - how about putting everything into one box & closing the lid
Do Not think about them at all - just get on with the rest of the tidying, decluttering, cleaning, sorting etc. Revisit this box when everything else is done
This might make it easier to decide on the final disposition of the sentimental items
Well this isn’t getting anything done
I will see you later

Just popping in to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for their good wishes over my new job.. Today I attended training, nothing too taxing and mainly common sense tasks etc. ^ 6 hours later and I will admit to being frazzled! So I shall be attempting an early night! I also have to do my last two shifts as a HCA this weekend..
A 5am start for my new job Monday morning.. I am really excited and know Ive made the right decision to move on..
Thanks again.. hugs for all"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0 -
Congratulations MadamMim2013 on the new job.
Don't forget the birds and wildlife when discarding items - especially at this time of year. Nuts of any sort - seeds - oil or fat - even ham and the such are welcomed by magpies and other corvids. We have a horse (not ours) in our field and he - a stallion cob - loves bread and crackers, veggie waste. All our bones and gristle go out for the fox - we do live in the middle of nowhere. When we use eggs we crush the eggshells and put them on the garden - the birds will eat them to help with their own shells and they're good for the garden. Coffee grounds too.
Water in which rice has been cooked is very good for plants. Strangely enough if my cat doesn't eat his food and I put it out for the magpies and he finds it he immediately eats it.:rotfl:
Can I ask please - what are neutral items?
Even with all the wind and the rain you can see Spring starting in the buds on the trees and we have hundreds of beautiful daffodils. My m-i-l many years ago planted daffodils round trees in the garden - the patience! - and they are still going strong.
