Hello! Been absent as I've had a lovely weekend away, only to return with a stinking cold that's left me very
However, my parents were very impressed with my new tidy approach when they visited last weekend: was able to leave them a very clear bedroom!
Tonight OH has moved our bed to DD's room ahead of arrival of a king size bed for us tomorrow. Plan is to try to sort underbed storage in our room and then tackle daughter's room: we have an exchange student due in late April and the room needs to be presentable and say less cluttered. So back to ploughing on!
Oh, and son's room is now decorated and looks great :j:j:jMFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Good morning all, I haven't posted for a while.
i had a flurry of de cluttering earlier in the year, selling stiff, and taking things to the CS, since then nowt's happened.
Anyway we've painted our living room, and had tp empty the dresser to move it, so I've decluttered a few items out of that.
It's not much, but I keep chipping away.
Before I take the stuff to the chazzer I'll have a quick look round to see if anything else can go.
Happy decluttering folks!!0 -
Just popping in to report a sort and clear of paper clutter. Not mine but DS2 who has just moved out. He kept putting all his letters in one draw and not attending to the related item, sometimes just ignoring debt. Anyway. Neat piles and a list for him to sort, envelopes in the recycling and the shredding pile has risen and inch. I am having a bonfire on the allotment Sunday so I think that can go on there. Very therapeutic. :T
Got to do mine next but not this weekend. Dsis's funeral was yesterday so having a little break from everything.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Well, de-cluttered PC DOH!!!! fortunately it has not been long since I saved all my details elsewhere, well at least a lot of them. Now I am having to re-clutter PC but at least a lot of my recipes have gone which is a job I kept putting off. Spent so much time sorting I have done no ACTUAL de-cluttering, I have let you down Mrssd sorry.0

Hi!
There were some items escorted to the Post Office yesterday
115-118 3 books sold and packaging counted as 1 item. Kaching!
119: Concert ticket rehomed: OK, as it was only ever on an app, it isn't a physical item but it's still something gone. Kaching!
120: A small declutter of email newsletters, Facebook pages and Instagram feeds.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

you have NOT let me down or even yourself
Hope that is enough naughties :rotfl: Sorting is a MAJOR part of Decluttering
It makes it so much easier to declutter when things are sorted. I will give you an example :rotfl: I emptied a large cardboard box of paperwork - bills, statements, cards etc - into several box files & baskets. Managed to declutter obvious bits like 20 year old bills/statements but then got bored or distracted :rotfl: Stacked up the box files & every now & then I start on a box file - might just be 10 minutes but I know I will get them done because I have done a ‘sort’ :rotfl:
You have also reminded me that I need to declutter & sort my on line recipes - so thank you :T
So chin upwhmf00001

I've been missing in action for a while too, as decorating - and other stuff - has taken over my life, lol! Last couple of days I've made up for lost time and have done the following -
Sorted through a mountain of cushions, fabric, spare bedding etc in our superking bed ottoman storage and have cleared.....
4 x cushions (to sell)
6 x fabric remnants (not sure, maybe charity shop)
3 x single fitted sheets - no longer have a single bed (DH will use as dust sheets)
4 x pillowcases (again, possibly charity shop)
As well as this I've started on some unpacked boxes from our move a year ago - these were in storage till August so I've only had seven months to deal with them, although in my defence the house has been - and still is in part - a building site so I've had other fish to fry
Anyway, I've set aside -
30 x books (charity shop, if they'll have them)
6 x historical maps (charity shop)
17 x dvds (was going to sell, but will probably charity shop these too)
A rather lovely vintage Alessi bowl (will sell this)
There's still about twenty boxes (mostly office stuff, iirc) to go through plus three large plastic trunks full of fabric/curtains, but I'll be juggling this with painting the bathroom so it might be a while before I'm back!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Tried to do a CS drop off today, but despite saying the warehouse was open, it wasn't. Stuff will have to stay in my car for another week as I won't be able to get there during working hours for a while.
Took some landscaping fabric over to my brother, who will use it, and 3 of my old books for the kids. Cleared some of the ivy I cut down last week so have one more bag of garden waste to go.
Recycling bin is full, ordinary bin is nearly full. I missed bin day this week and will miss it next week, but the good thing about being away is that I'm not generating much more rubbish!
As my utility room is now finished AND the garage is accessible, there's a lot more sorting and putting away going on, which means that 'clutter' is actually becoming accessible and useful 'stuff'. More and more space in the house is becoming 'normal living space'.0
