MadamMim - the CAB will help with an appeal letter. They are very good. A
Dr's letter also helps but Citizen's Advice are best at this sort of helpful advice.
Thanks, she finally has a CA appointment early March, they are now flooded with people needing them for the same reason..:(
Her GP has said she will also prepare another letter as the assessor put down that my friend is on low pain relief.. She takes 40mg Oxycodone twice daily and has (an ever increasing) dose of Pregabalin
If I am correct the oxycodone is equivalent to about 160mg of Morphine? That’s NOT low dose pain relief!!
It’s so cruel what’s happening, she’s so young and the vascular disease has all but taken her legs and it’s made its way to the heart, they have told her she will be lucky is she survives to 45
Sorry to gripe, I’m very angry for her, this is the last thing she need to be doing.."There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0 -
I'm so sorry to hear that MadamMim. These are cruel, brutal times for some. It must be hard to bear for her & those who care about her. It's good that you are helping her.0

Friday has been another glorious day- clear blue skies, sunshine all day & it was warm :T:T
DH & I went to the Bike Show at ExCeL - both of us decluttered lots of penniesI treated myself to a black cotton waxed jacket - perfect for riding on the bike but smart & lightweight enough for day to day wear :T DH bought me a fitted top with armour - back, shoulders & elbows - which fits perfectly under my new jacket & is a medium :j - proof that I have lost a bit of weight :j:j He also bought us each a pair of waterproof over-trousers. I was also given a free postcard as we passed one of the stands because I had such a beautiful smile :rotfl: it made my day
Almost 60 & never thought I had ‘it’ :rotfl::rotfl: Also saw a couple of famous Isle of Man TT racers. All in all an excellent afternoon
My F*tb*t is happy & our tummies are happy - egg, bacon mushrooms, baked beans & bread for dinner. DH & I have finished my hm soup - so need to make another one.
Cheerleading commences here
somerandom, Well Done on the decluttering but you do realise when DS comes home he will be recluttering :rotfl::rotfl:
parsniphead, I really need to get back into my list makingbut seem to be in a ‘trough of despond’ re decluttering
ailz95, Well Done on your decluttering :T. Maybe you should declutter the DH :rotfl::rotfl: only Joking :rotfl: but not really what you wanted to hear :wall: Sounds like a nice trip & something to look forward to
Well Done villagelife :T Does DH know you are decluttering his clothes :rotfl:
:hello: MiniLaura & welcome to our merry band of declutterers on board the ‘Declutter Bandwagon’ You have made a great start :T Do you have a local cs that can do pick ups or perhaps you can persuade a friend or family member to drive you to Tip/cs & perhaps treat them to a tea/coffee & cake 🧁. There are quite a few people on here who are loathe to throw stuff into the bin - as well as eBay they Freegle etc.
Woo hoo :j Wednesday2000 - Well Done on having a spacious bedroom :T The benefit of decluttering is that even a small room can appear spaciousWhat is that saying ‘less is more’
aimeemum, the dreaded MiL visit :rotfl: but at least it gives you an excuse/reason to tidy & clean :rotfl: Good luck with the toy clutter. The FlyLady thread always looked a bit too intense for me
but I like the idea of 2, 5 or 15 minute sessions. Sounds eminently doable
Thank you for the idea :T
Happy Kitties, an end goal & a really good one :T will definitely keep you aboard the ‘Decluttering Bandwagon’
short_bird, hope you have managed to ‘declutter’ the coldAny decluttering virtual or otherwise is still decluttering
and the tidying will eventually pay dividends
Well Done on decluttering direct debits :T
Ginmonster, nice to see you& well done on decluttering your cold :T Re the general mess, I am sure it is not half as bad as you think it is
& I have every faith that you will sort it quickly & be looking for your next project :rotfl:
Fire Fox, proud of yourself & so you should be :T:T I like the names of the rooms/hallway :rotfl: very inventiveAt this rate, you will have everything decluttered in a couple of months
unless you have a 20 room mansion :rotfl:
:hello: Sarell & a big welcome to you :j Sorry I have been a bit slow in welcoming youWe love having new declutterers on board the ‘Decluttering Bandwagon’ Now, I am a nosey c*w :rotfl: so perhaps you can tell us or me a little bit about your clutter challenge. We are an extremely friendly, practical & helpful bunch
& we can be quite amusing
Really looking forward to your posts & hopefully we can all help each other declutter ‘stuff’ as painlessly as possible
Noooooo, nannywindows - decluttering liststhat is just sooo wrong :rotfl: However, Well Done on the other decluttering :T
CompletelyLost, two items sold, is 2 less items in your home & pennies in your piggy bank :T You are NOT allowed to be downhearted - decluttering is a journey & we are all here to encourage each other
Well Done choille :T - it is lovely to have a welcoming entrance to your homeYou should be very proud of yourself :T
chupachups4, more pennies in the travel pot :T Keep up the good work

I absolutely love my weekend stops here. What a board! It has a real sense of openness, honesty and genuine support. It's good for the soul.
It's half term for me and my little ones and we have friends heading our way for lunch to start it with a bang.DH is at work but will be home for dinner.
I'm an ongoing decluttered so the house is in pretty good shape after years of sorting and saving pennies for experiences instead of stuff but I do need to sort the wardrobes of DS and DD during the break. I know they have new uniform and underwear etc.due to growth spurts and that some of their weekend/holiday clothes have got a bit short on the arm and leg and need to go to some smaller beans via the charity shop.
Also, despite our generally tidy and clutter-free existence we do seem to have developed a basket of bits and pieces in the corner of our bedroom. We've spent October, November and January touching-up some rooms...fresh paint, new light fixtures etc. and in December we got a new carpet in the living room and a new unit...and as we've sorted through rooms we've decluttered even more and managed to fill a washing basket that's just sat in the corner since the last plasterer left on the 4th of Feb. as life was just too full of work and school to get beyond the daily routines until this break. Some bits will find new homes but I think most will just be packed up for someone else to enjoy.
Happy weekend all. The skies are clear again here and the birds are all over the feeders by the window. Soaking it all up.:coffee:

I took a big bag of stuff to the CS the other day - it started off as just a few things, then when I got into my stride I ended up with a big bagful!!
I also decluttered a sack of towels - the local vet's surgery will take them.
I'm getting to the point where every time I open a cupboard or drawer I'm wondering what can go!!
Also, I'm on a mission this year not to buy new clothes, apart from socks and underwear. This is hard, and I can't guarantee I'll get through, we'll see. We've got two family weddings coming up this year. I've been really lucky and bought a lovely Lin*a wrap dress with the shop tags still on for £18.99 in the Heart Foundation shop, then a week or two later found an East*x jacket, the colour of which matched the dress so well, that was £10.99. So I'm really pleased with those!!0 -
DH did know about most of the clothes but a couple more may have been added to the pile!
266 pair of underpants with holes in.
267 wrapping paper and ribbon from my stash used up.0 -
ailz95Wile I'm trying to de clutter DH has informed me that he likes clutter and doesn't want to get rid of too much
I used to say this. The thought of the change and upheaval put me off for one and also clutter esp books was like a safety blanket. Start with small corners that are kept clear until he gets used to that and then spread out slowly through the house.
This is how I did it and now I have a fine appreciation for the clutter free, which doesn't mean minimalist. I can actually get ornaments out and pictures in frames which I didn't do before.
I started with my stuff only then slowly movedinto general stuff around the house.

Cheerleading resumes
bit by bit, sounds like you & DH had a lovely time & you have recharged your decluttering batteriesPLEASE do not get despondent
Deep cleaning is ONLY possible because you are decluttering :T & don’t forget that once you have deep cleaned it is easier to keep clean as you go along AND you are less likely to re-clutter
Well Done on the large amount of ‘stuff’ that you have decluttered - Gold Star for decluttering & deep cleaning :staradmin Great post in response to ailz95 :T Maybe we should all get together & write a decluttering book
Not sure what we should call it but perhaps if we put our thinking caps on we can come up with something
MadamMim,:mad::mad: Thank you for being a friend to this poor young woman :T & please rant away. I agree with choille - cruel & brutal times:(
Janejamie Well Done on so much decluttered :T & fingers crossed that many pennies will soon be in your piggy bankGlad you are only dreaming of a clutter free house & Not the actual decluttering :rotfl:
dingdongsaving, what an uplifting post :j thank you so much :T I especially liked that you reminded me that although it may take years to declutter there will be a huge payoff- I will only need small amounts of time to keep on top of the decluttering & I won’t mind having people to visit :rotfl: It does help that over the past 18 months I have tried really hard NOT to bring in more stuff apart from food :rotfl: A ‘Single’ basket of bits & pieces - I dream of that :rotfl: I have drawers, cupboards, baskets & tins of bits & pieces
+ crates & boxes of DSis’s stuff  Oh well, at least my kitchen is clean & tidy & nothing falls out of cupboards when I open them :rotfl: :rotfl: Hope you have a great half term
ScarletRibbons, excellent bargains :T You have absolutely caught the ‘Decluttering Bug’- can you please ‘infect me’
pretty please :rotfl:
villagelife, I absolutely love it :rotfl::T Fortunately my DH is ‘growing up’ & binning his own clothes when they get holey or worn out - I will give him his due that he wears the items one last time then bins rather than putting in the laundry basket :rotfl: The only ‘problem’ is that he forgets to tell me so that I can bump up my numbers :rotfl:
I was up in time to declutter pennies to the milkman - much to his surprise :rotfl: he usually has to wait 4 - 6 weeks
Have a great weekend everyone
