Thanks for the cheerleading Mrs Salad Dodger.
I'm a bit of a nightmare with lists. They get longer and longer until they become overwhelming. I'm going to steal the idea I read previously about keeping it to a maximum of 5 items at a time.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

We should be going to the CS today as DH's sister & hubby are coming over to see MIL and us, they'll take over looking after MIL while we nip out. Had a walk round the house this morning looking for more stuff to take - added a few bits and pieces. Also decluttered packets of free from hotels etc., matches that FIL collected. I tried a few, but none of them will strike - FIL's been dead for 14 years and didn't get out much before then - most of these are from the 50s - 70s
Wile I'm trying to de clutter DH has informed me that he likes clutter and doesn't want to get rid of too much
I've also sorted out a bag of 'stuff' to take to my Cameroonian daughter in April - when we'll be having our first break in 4 years, hopefulloy MIL will be okay with carers - at least she's familiar with them all even if she doesn't remember them. So a week's break and we're going to... Very keen to join with this thread, need inspiration and keeping count is a good idea!
Short story - moved 3 times in last 5 years, and always get told I have too much stuff by family! (I think its just cause I move they see everything) Currently renting with view to buying in a few years so would like to be decluttered!
I don't drive, so makes it hard to get things to tip/charity.
This year so far I have done a large clear-out of wardrobe and also looking to tackle my craft stash (card marking) - actually make cards and just have ready made cards not all the stuff for them!
Would welcome any tips on how to recycle items - I really really hate to throw out things into bin if they can be recycled/reused.
On an ebay mission at present but can only list 10 items......
So far I'm at:
1. Bag of clothes passed to sister
2. Bag of clothes into textile bank
3. Bag of clothes into textile bank
4. Bag of clothes into textile bank
5. Bag of clothes into textile bank
6. Bag of clothes into textile bank
7. Bag of clothes into textile bank
8. Bag of shoes into textile bank
9. Smashed vase was decluttered.
Hopefully come up with more things over weekend, ebay items ending:j Debt-Free-Wannabe! :jDeclutter/Ebay/Savings0 -
So many things have gone out of the house this week as the last bit of furniture was picked up this morning.
My bedroom is quite small but it feels so spacious to me now.:A0 -
Recycling was emptied today so hoping to have a bit of a paper-sort and get rid of anything that can go in my papers box ready for next collection. Apart from that not a lot of productive decluttering going on.....tomorrow however I'm planning an afternoon of sorting the living room with the kids (their toys appear to have migrated downstairs for the winter!) so I'm sure there will be some things from that exercise that can go. I also have a few things to go up in the loft for storage. Need hubby's help with that as I'm a weak and feeble woman and can't lift them up the ladders. Mother-in-law is coming to visit next weekend so need to get the house all spick and span
MrsSD - I use a lot fo FlyLady techniques so tend to stick to either 2, 5 or 15 minute intervals as they work well for me. I tend to get overwhelmed by 'everything that needs doing' but if I say I'll just do this for 2/5/15 minutes it feels productive but not taking away from anything else my brain thinks is more important....like for some reason cleaning bathrooms! lol I can keep my bathrooms as clean as you like by my brain will always think they need doing again! :rotfl:Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

Hi, all!
Struck down by a cold so not a huge amount gone out apart from the usual paper recycling and rubbish, plastics still to go. A small amount of tidying has gone on but you wouldn't think it to look at the state of things. Some of it is stuff that doesn't have the right home and I do realise that one of my kitchen cupboards has a number of items that were stuffed in there 12 months ago that haven't shifted since.
But I have been seeing off some more virtual stuff: email newsletters for example, stuff I "liked" on Facebook. I've deleted my Netfl!x account and have 2 weeks to watch films folks have recommended to me. I've had a little financial tidy. Also deleted 2 payments that are yearly Direct Debits due in January next year so I don't forget. That's £230 I don't have to find:T.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

I've been AWOL for a while as I was ill with a tiresome cold and then half term happened. Son is now happily playing video games while I survey the general mess and think about what I can tackle when he's back at school on Monday. I haven't caught up on the reading yet so I hope everyone's well and making progress even if it's tiny steps.0
