Indigo £1000 penalty fine

Hi all
I’ve read through some of the newbie posts and starter threads but I’ve messed up
In short I’ve been parking at an Indigo car park at a railway station since June with no problems. Since last month 7/11/18 for some reason the parking app has not registered me parking their, which has resulted in 5 individual PCN’s being sent for £500 charge and I know another 5-6 are on there way. A weekly ticket there is £28.50 so the total should be between £60-£90 but they want to fine me £1000. I have proof I have paid all year till recently.
Last night all this mail had been forwarded from my previous address to a family members which I opened and obviously panicked. They had sent all the mail to my previous address. In the letter they state they have got jy information via the DVLA. That I broke bylaw 14
They also say my vehicle can be clamped by byelaw 14(4)ii which I thought was illegal in the uk? They then send me to an alternative website ipaymypcn.net where I stupidly sent in my appeal for one ticket. I then called up Indigo
The lady said I was extremely lucky that I appealed tonight before midnight as tomorrow debt collectors were going to be sent and that I appeal all 5. I stupidly did before my friend informed me these are parking charge notices not penalty charge notices. She also said “off the record” you can still get it at the reduced rate if the appeal is denied, like it was some big secret then informed me to appeal on the indigo website and not the ipaymypcn website which is what the letter says to appeal on?
In my appeal I confirmed my new address and that I had been parking there and for some reason It hadnt registered my parking this last month but had all year including a picture of my parking history via the app. I said in the last one I would pay what should have been for weekly tickets or something similliar.
How stuffed am I? I cannot believe how they can trick you into believing debt collectors are coming and making yhem seem like they are an official PCN. Oh and they are a member of the BPA
Please any help would be greately appreciated
Kind regards and merry christmas

Oh I forgot to mention this vehicle is a company van, hired through a lease vehicle and then I use it and am the registered keeper.
I will happily keep the entire run of this updated for future people who go throuth this BS0 -
you should receive a POPLa code for each and every appeal you made
with those codes you can appeal to POPLa the independent arbitrator.
you will notice how they are quoting bylaw 14 , and a quick look thru the forum should give you more info regarding railway stations / bylaws
I will let YOU do the searching HINT: the newbies thread has a section on railway/bylaws
I suspect that you will be back shortly to say "no POPLa codes" received0 -
Don't identify the driver. You appeal on the basis of not relevant land under POFA and driver not identified as well as the usual appeal points.
It's only Indigo so calm down.0 -
Hi, I appreciate the assitance greately
I have already stated in my appeal I explained how the app failed to work when booking my parking ticket so in a sense I have admitted I’m the driver. Is this really bad?0 -
No it's not really bad. They can't actually do anything. You need to appeal each ticket separately so no more blabbing about who the driver was.
If you read other Indigo threads you will soon see they are actually powerless to do anything other than send scary letters.0 -
Hi. I appreciate the help but I have already confirmed my details as the driver by updating my new address, name, and evidence of parking history so I feel this is different than 90% of other Indigo threads as people just ignore them from the start
What are my next steps once they reject my appeal issue my PCN’s and now have me confirmed as the driver as I said something along the lines of “Ive never had an issue parking here for 6 months and using the app”
Can I blame Indigo app software as I have a previous history of paying without fail? Do i just ignore them? Do I appeal all the new PCN’s?0 -
Appeal all the new PCNs. Do not make any further admissions as to who was driving. Complain to your MP. Why not pay in cash/card in future?
It is the will of Parliament that these scammers be put out of business. Hopefully that will take place in the near future. The Bill has passed through the HOC without hitch, and goes to the Lords soon. In the meantime involve your MP, the poor dears are buckling under the weight of complaints about these scammers. Read this one which I wrote earlier
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.
Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Third Reading in late November, and, with a fair wind, will become Law next year.
All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

You have updated the registered keepers details. Unless you have told them for each individual ticket you were driving all they have is the registered keepers details.0 -
Yes I stupidly copied and posted the same response across all 5 appeals0
-
do not expect POPLa codes , they are obliged to give them but will not , sighting postal failure , lets see how the BPA accept 6 + failures of royal mail
or they will say they were emailed , but must have been sent to spam folder0
