  • Another £860 to the mortgage today! :j

Its all very positive here...the tiling is done, the handrails for the stairs are ordered, the metal strips have arrived and its the last day of the working week :D

I'm feeling better about stuff now - think I was just having a bit of a wobble the other day! I have so much going on with the house I just don't seem to have any proper 'down' time and I know that it will just intensify over the next couple of weeks but I have decided that when it has been done, dh and I will have a few days off together to just chill out and relax ;) it may put the mf date back a couple of weeks but to be honest, in the grand scheme of things, we really don't care!

We're still deciding on our post-mortgage and house renovation existence but one of my favourite things to do (that costs money) is to sit in Covent Garden, listening to opera, eating olives and drinking champagne- I know it's completely decadent and a waste of cash but the weekend after we finish the mortgage, that's exactly what we are heading! :D

  • £20 op yesterday :D

House is coming on nicely...quite a few little jobs left to do and one big one but we had a really productive weekend :D It was also a very expensive one but all house related so happy with that! The only things left to buy now are a couple of bits of wood and the doors - should be less than £1500 which means we can then concentrate on the mortgage!! :j

Its less than two weeks now before the carpets will be laid...I cannot begin to explain how much I am looking forward to living in a clean house rather than a building site!! I am just beyond fed up with it all now - I feel constantly dirty and look at my surroudings in despair so having the end of it in touching distance is an amazing feeling! ;)

Anyway, better get on with some work!

  • Wow...I've been away for a long time!! :o
Its been incredibly busy so my absence is understandable but i need to get back on it as I have wandered somewhat from the financial path over the past few weeks!

It's been worth it though ;) the house has the internal doors to sort and a couple of other bits but nothing major now :j the carpets are lovely, the house looks good, the garden is now back to a useable state too!! I'm immensely happy with where I am :D

I haven't updated any budgets so i can't be specific but I think we're about a month behind financially- I'll live with it, we're still on track to finish prior to solstice which was the original target so as long as i get done by then, I'm happy!

I'm going to start this week afresh tomorrow- I'm having a really lovely weekend and I'm going to continue to enjoy that then get onto the 'sorting myself' part of this challenge :o

Current situation is that I'm overweight, eat poorly frequently, do no excercise, smoke, drink to excess and lead an inactive lifestyle. I take no interest in my appearance and look shabby most of the time. I'm okay with most of this but I'm feeling a bit tired and want to feel better...anyway, I'm on it from the morning ;)

    21 weeks to go.....
  • Well, themortgage is down from 5 figures to 4!! :j:j:j happy days!! :D

I'm getting everything sorted for tomorrow...fruit for brekkie, salad for lunch and lentils, grains, greens and nuts for dinner ;) I'm going on a shop for clothes, having a haircut and getting myself sorted over the next couple of weeks :D by the end of june it should all be good ;)
  • Wow, it's been a rollercoaster of a ride over the past few weeks- stopping to catch my breath is doing me the world of good!

So, house will be completely sorted by the end of June. The internal doors, understair door hinges etc and the paint still need to be bought but that's the final expense. By pay day next month, I'll have paid for all that, got rid of the current cc balance and will be ready to financially buckle down and concentrate on the mortgage :j my spending has been ridiculous recently but it has mainly been house related so I'm not unhappy with the situation- just determined to reel it in again! ;)

Self care still hasn't reared its head (although the current mental health break has been essential) but I'm getting on that wagon over the next 24 hours - dh is getting me some fruit and leaves, I've got a meal plan in mind but I'll be cooking daily probably so that we don't end up with mountains of leftovers. We're having lemon baked cauliflower served on a bed of raw spinach; millet, quinoa and buckwheat in a mint and thyme dressing and a red grape and blueberry salsa for dinner. I'm having a reasonably early night tonight and will do a body scrub tonight in the shower. :D

Tomorrow, I'm doing water only following my morning latte - I'm going to have tonights leftovers for lunch and make sure that I go for a walk at lunchtime. I know that this is going to take a while to get better but as long as I do something everyday I'll get there eventually! ;)

  • Not all according to plan but not bad! ;) I now have a door on my bedroom!!:j it needs adjusting tonight but, whichever way you look at it, I have a door!! :T I feel like my house is turning back into a home :happyhear

Ive looked at the pennies and we're definitely going to be a month behind on the mortgage ops but we're okay with that. I've written off this months salary so that we have a zero balance on the credit card and the house renovations all done and paid for by 1st july. This month, we will do as well as possible so that we can pay a bit off the balance but I'm not holding my breath! ;)

I'm doing well on the self care front- I've defurred, done hair and face masks, a body scrub and I'm on water and white tea today ;) I am going to build up to a healthy lifestyle over the next week - if I introduce one change a day, I'll be able to maintain it :D Food is now healthy, body care routine started on and water intake increased- tomorrow I cut out alcohol and at the weekend, I quit smoking :o I'm buying a new wardrobe full of clothes this weekend so I will buy some smaller ones as the bloat should decrease over the next couple of weeks ;) I'm getting a haircut next week too....this is going to be a whole new me!!

  • Go you. Each ciggy you don't have is a little bit extra towards the mortgage being gone. Can't go around setting fire to your cash when you have the finish line so close
