2019 Transforming and Becoming Mortgage Free!

It's been chaos!
I've been unwell, I've had dental issues and things have ground to a halt! However, the end of it sll is close now so I'll cope
Basically, I have an enormous dental bill to pay now - it will impact the mortgage pay off date but I'm okay with that....I've needed to get them sorted for a considerable period of time so it's not unexpected, just earlier than anticipatedI'm still confident that we'll be mf by winter Solstice though
Tomorrow, I'm getting myself sorted - I had a lovely break and I've eased back into life relatively gently so I'm feeling ready now to commit to changing my personal habits - I've got to a good place with everything now so I have no excuse to leave it any longer
I'm looking forward to next month - I have no social engagements booked, no expenses that are expected and several free weekends :j
Anyway 17 weeks to go if I can finish it in October0 -
Dental work all done now for a few months
glad it's over!!
Unfortunately, I have a few trips to make this month that were unexpected so additional costs will be incurred but little I can do about that. However, other than that, this month will be a quiet one. We have spent a fortune over the past couple of weeks and financially, things are not under control yet...but I'm getting back on the case as soon as our trips are done
House still has a few outstanding bits but we're working through them slowly; I'm going to have to do a suma order soon - probably within the next couple of weeks and I want to have a sauce/jam making session as we're starting to get low on homemade stuff - I'm going to do a mint sauce with chocolate mint and blueberry balsamic; redcurrant jelly; seedless raspberry jam: seedless strawberry jam and a lemon marmaladeI'm also going to go on a local trawl to see what our kerbside produce sellers have on offer and get my dehydrator going
Not sure how many weeks are left - I really am totally out of touch with what I'm doinghowever, tomorrow I'll have a good look at the budgets and work out where I go from here

I've been awol as rl has been mental!!
I'm really out of touch with everything at the moment, I will spend some time at the weekend getting up to date and sorting my budgetsI have no idea of how far behind I am financially and I don't like the feeling at all
I will report at the weekend

Oh dear...I've checked out the finances as I couldn't wait until the weekend- wish I hadn't
Our input to the mortgage in the last 3 months has been pitifulI'm disappointed but not surprised - I can't do anything other than accept it and move forward.
I'm speaking to dh tonight and getting us back on track - I know that there are lots of things I need to sort to prevent this attitude we are carrying at the moment but I'm certain we'll put it right
Tomorrow I'm cleaning the house, finishing outstanding work stuff and working out how I can reduce the spending that I've been doing recently- I have several things I need to buy but will hold out till payday and see if I can reduce costs. I'm desperate to put in a suma order but also know that if I can hold off till solstice and just buy the essentials, it will go a long way to getting back on track.
Food wise, I'm going for the bare minimum for the next few months - I've got loads of pasta flour and am going to make rainbow pasta shapes, ravioli etc. I also have plenty of pulses and grains so will be using up as many as possible. I'll need to buy veg and fruit but essentials are pretty well catered for. I also need to clear out the freezer so will work our way through that in the next few weeks
Right, confession over...time to put on my big girl pants and get firmly back on the wagon!!0 -

You're doing great squirrel - don't be too hard on yourself. I've just read through your diary and you seem to have done so much this year. I'm looking forward to following the rest of your journey - you'll be mortgage-free before you know it.

I've made a few decisions financially and have set a new target date - I know that I cannot hit my October target now due to the necessary but earlier than expected expenses that I have had to meet but I will absolutely clear this by 3rd December unless something really drastic happens! 🙈
I have an expensive weekend ahead potentially but I will do what I can to minimise the costs and will know exactly where I stand on Monday
Regardless of that, the mortgage will be gone in 103 days (14 weeks, 5 days)! :j
Obviously, I want to get it done before then if I possibly can so I am going full on from Monday- I'm spending the absolute bare minimum and every penny will be accounted for. I will be on here more regularly to keep me focused and I will account for any expenditure I have made so will fess up on here if I slip
It's a short but intense few months ahead but I know that I will feel amazing when I achieve it so it's worth the work!
Anyway, with that in mind, I paid another £192 off it today to bring it by the skin of its teeth to just under 8k:j when I look tomorrow I will see a 4 figure sum starting with a 7!! :T:j
Off to check the house for floating cash now! :rotfl:0 -
