What small DFW things will you do w/c 17th December?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning all :hello:
Thanks for the starter DNMS last week before Christmas, lots going on so I need to be organised. I'm working until Christmas Eve too, so must use my free time wisely. My list for today:
Wfh as have an appointment this morning for my DD, but she doesn't come iyswim. We'll see how that works out if it's any benefit.
Check banking
Post some cards and Christmas parcels.
Meals from stores
Dd and DH lunch from picnic leftovers yesterday
Catch up with some washing, change 1 bed (see if I can work my way around them through the week)
Heating engineer here later as we had a problem over the weekend, had to pay an excess but from a plan we use. Much cheaper than an emergency engineer
Vacuum through
Get ready for tomorrow as I'm away with work so I need to get me and the house/smalls ready
Get some presents down from the loft, have wrapped all the ones that were down :A
Wrap ^^
Triage fridge
Have a good day everyone. Purps.0 -
Morning DNMS and all who follow
Thanks for starting the thread
Determined to get stuff done today, after a frankly lazy weekend
Though if DD turns up with kid(s) this may not happen!
So, plans are to:
Check banks and update spending diary (and spreadsheet later) In progress
Take stuff to sales unit and tidy / restock Done, and had a decent sale almost immediately, which was great, as hardly anything sold last week
Bring unsold stuff back and put it away Done :A
If time (and DD) allows, finish off the Christmas present shopping. Not much needed, but need to get it sorted! Got a few bits from the supermarket, more tomorrow when I will park in the town centre for the post office
Post Christmas cardsDone
All meals from home Done
Some housework and ir*ning  Done
Turf cushions, throws etc out of large drawer in lounge, and rehome them. Plan is to stash all my packaging stuff in there, instead of it spilling out of a corner of the dining room as it is at the moment. I use recycled stuff where possible for ebay parcels, as well as transporting fragile items to and from sales unit. This is moneysaving and green, but sooo untidy atm! All packaging stashed neatly in the drawer :A Throws and cushions are however all over the spare bedroom  Will venture up there in a minute and sort it out - may be some heading for the CS!
Investigate getting damaged car windscreen repairedI have a number to ring, got that far
Wishing everyone a good and productive day0 -

Morning everyone!
Thanks to DNMS for starting us off. I also have 3 more days in then off til after Christmas!
I'm still catching up with the thread, but needless to say, huge hugs to all!
I had a productive day on the knitting/crochet front yesterday despite being tired. I finished nan's scarf and finished the heel flap, turned the heel, picked up the stitches and started the gusset on my uncle's second sock. I'm in good stead now.
We also wrapped about half of the presents, and I got some of OH's wrapped while he went for the shopping.
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores - done
- Charge phone in work - done
- Gym at lunch time if programming appears - done
- Post cards to the neighbours - done
- Print step-nephew's Christmas vouchers at work - done
- No alcohol (have drunk more than enough last week and feel a bit cruddy for it) - done
- Put away stupidly large pile of washing - some of it
- Knit sock - done
- No heating as used disgusting amounts of gas/elec yesterday - done
- Debate whether to sell the shoes I bought on sat - they were an emergency purchase for the party on Sat night, and although ok, I think better shoes could be had. - done

I think that's all for today, but Ill add to it later if need be! Hope everyone is ok! xDebt free once - Back again | Current debt: £2479.50 - January 2025 | Make £2025 in 2025 #11 - £41/£20250 -

* Put away wee clothes mountain. Done.
* Triage fridge. Done. Asparagus and mange tout need to be eaten tonight. I'm going to make a chicken in honey and mustard cous cous thing.
